Re-purposing an antique washstand dresser!

Remember when I mentioned in my Baking Rack Makeover post, that I found a "NEW" piece to take it's place in my foyer?  Well, today is the day that I finally am able to unveil that 'special' piece!

But, before I do, I want to give you a bit of history 'behind' this piece......

It looks pretty bad, doesn't it?  Well, in it's defense, this poor dresser has been through quite a bit in the last

Sensational Sunday Love Links!

Today, I am going to shout out some 'LOVE' for two- very special-very classy ladies, who, since I started to blog in January, have given me so much inspiration, and have truly been HUGE mentors!!!  Both of these ladies have been involved in the world  of 'blogland' for sometime now, and because of their creativity and indeed, their warm personalities, have gained a large, faithful audience.

Baker's Rack Makeover

It happened again!  I just couldn't help myself.  There it was....

My perfectly 'good' baker's rack. If you've been following along, you know I made the choice to move this VERY functional, yet unused piece, into our entryway.

Well, it HAS been useful.  A place to set our keys.  A basket to keep shoes, etc organized.  But....

It just wasn't working for me.  Besides, during a recent '

Creamy Potato Salad!

Over the years, I've learned that potato salad can be a very 'controversial' topic.  Some people will argue that the best potato salad is one that has A LOT of mustard.  Others might say that it isn't the mustard that is so important, but the vinegar and quality of mayonnaise. Yet others will demand that none of those ingredients matter at all, as long as the salad is loaded with hard boiled

Treasures in the Garden

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day!

Hubby spent most of the day working on his toys (Trans-am and Jeep),  to get them ready for some summer fun.

I, on the other hand, could be found in the gardens-pulling weeds!!!!  (Funny how those nasty little buggers catch up with you if you don't keep at them!)

But it wasn't all that bad, because I did find some

The greatest gift I've ever been given, was the blessing of this beautiful, smiley face!!  Yesterday, after many sacrifices, and a whole lot of hard work, my baby girl finally achieved her goal of getting her MBA!!!!

Rhubarb Cobbler

There has always been some confusion about whether rhubarb is a fruit or a vegetable.  I guess I've always considered it to be a fruit, but regardless, there is one thing I know for certain-spring just wouldn't be spring without it.

Whether I'm making up a batch of homemade jam, or a strawberry pie, the tartness of these red stalks, always adds just that 'extra' punch of flavor!

No Sew Outdoor Cushion Covers

It was in Home Economics class in the eighth grade, when I came to the conclusion that I would never be a good seamstress.  After weeks of instruction and hands on training, our teacher, Mrs. Z, announced it was time for us to spread our wings and complete our very own sewing project.

I can still remember how sweaty my palms were when Mrs. Z handed me my assignment-a pattern for a vest.

Budget Friendly-No Sew Outdoor Cushion Cover

I was in eighth grade when I had my first 'distaste' for sewing.  It was in Home Economics.  After weeks of instruction and hands on training, our teacher, Mrs. Z, announced it was time for us to spread our wings and complete our very own sewing project.

I can still remember how sweaty my palms were when Mrs. Z handed me my assignment-a pattern for a vest.
