DIY Reclaimed Wood Mirror

Hubby likes to tease me often(like EVERY day), about his so called, 'honey do' list.  If there is such a 'list' (and I'm not saying there is), it is only because he 'offer's to help me with projects.

So, in fact, I'm not really 'telling' him to DO something, instead, I'm simply 'accepting' his offer of assistance.

For those of you who don't agree with my 'logic', (hubby), let me tell you a

Dining Room Chairs get a Facelift!

I mentioned in a previous post that I had one more project left to do in our dining room, before it's BIG reveal!

The truth is- that project actually consists of TWO parts:

I purchased this dining room set at a local Ashley Furniture store, when I first moved into our house.  At the time-the table was the closest thing to a farm table (my dream) that I could afford, and since the

Re-purposing an Antique Frame

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Hubby and I had a wonderful time at his parent's cabin in the woods for our family barbecue on Saturday.  I promise to share some photo's of mom's AMAZING gardens, and an adorable project she just completed, later in the week!

Speaking of projects........

I suppose you could call me a rebel when it comes to following decorating trends.  I like what I

Patriotic Trifle Dessert

I hope you all had a wonderful Fourth of July!!! Hubby and I spent most of the day catching up on some projects, and celebrated later with dinner and movie.

Today we are heading over to hubby's parent's cabin for a BIG family barbecue, so we get to celebrate even more!

Getting together with hubby's family is always so much fun!  And the food...well, let's just say there is always way more than

In the Garden

WE HAVE SUNSHINE!!!!

Do I sound excited, or what???

Well, I guess you could say I am.

After all this rain we've been having-it sure is nice to see that golden globe shining bright, and putting a smile on everyone's face!

I spent the morning in my working in my office..........

But this afternoon I just couldn't resist taking a stroll outside.

Of course-with all this

Creamy Cucumber Salad

Can you believe it will be the Fourth of July on Friday?  Summer is half over-and the truth is-here in our neck of the woods, we've had so much rain, that we've hardly been able to enjoy it!

Thankfully, the weatherman says that Friday looks clear, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I'm also getting a head start on some dishes that I'm bringing to our family picnic!

The first dish I'm

Delicious Balsamic Glazed Vegetables!

I'm always amazed at how organized my daughter, Mel is, whenever she plans to host an event.  Big or small-it makes no difference-in the end, it ALWAYS turns out successful!  This weekend, (when she hosted a baby shower for a friend), was no different.

When I arrived on Friday morning, I couldn't believe how calm she was.  I would have been a basket case knowing that the guests would be arriving

Things are Looking Up in the Dining Room!

The first thing I wanted to change when I started the dining room makeover(months ago), was the dark beams on the ceiling.

I suppose at one time they gave the room a 'rustic' feel, but I'm just not THAT rustic of a gal.

I also wanted to replace this light fixture that I bought four years ago.  Back then I was desperate to change out the HORRIFIC ceiling fan that hung here when I bought

Best Friends, Baking and Berries!

Have I told you that I have the BEST mom in the entire world???  Well, I do, and she's also my BEST friend! (Pssst...don't tell Bentley)

Somehow she always knows when I need her.  Like this morning.  I was feeling a bit down and a WHOLE lot overwhelmed with work and all our 'projects.'  Suddenly, just like SUPERWOMAN coming to save the day-mom appeared at the front door.

We shared a cup
