Rebirth: 20-Minute Guided Meditation

Ready for Rebirth Rebirth

I wanted to share this meditation with you to complement the Life Tools video I share above. And while this meditation mentions looking forward to a new year, I also think it’s perfect for looking ahead to the rest of THIS year – taking inventory for where we are at, creating intentions around what we might like to change, and see the world and our lives with a little bit of a freshened perspective.

Yata Pinde Tat Brahmandi – as is the cosmic mind, so is the personal mind. As is the cosmic body, so is the personal body. I am not in the world, there is no separation. In fact, the whole world rests inside me. Just as every ocean rests in each drop, and like every tall oak tree rests inside every acorn, the universe rests in the core of us. Once we release our separation from the universe, we have a renewed perspective that we are separate from nothing. We can align ourselves with the universe and become a part of the divine flow.

Rebirth happens when we can accept this very moment as perfection. No regrets, no grievances, no judgments. Just perfection, right here and now.

In this meditation, we will drift off into the mantra om moksha ritam.

Om is the universal vibration that heralds our oneness, moksha is liberation and freedom, and ritam is the rhythm of the universe. This mantra is perfect for us to use for our rebirth.

Spiritual Practice: Life Tools

Should I Give Up My Spiritual Practice? Hello, Spiritual Warrior!Let me ask you a question – do you ever go through a hard period of time and allow your spiritual or meditation practice to fall away, as you deal with the intensity of life? It’s an interesting thing, how we humans have a tendency to do this. And yet – when we are going through trials in our lives, that is EXACTLY when we need our practice even more!  Whether you are deep in grief, are dealing with struggles and challenges, are at a crossroads, or have hit a fork in the road, that is when you need your practices the most. That is when you should be leaning in hard to allow everything that is coming up to be felt and integrated.  It’s easy for us to want to stay in bed, zone out on our phones or tv, or find all sorts of other unhealthy ways to process what we are going through. Yet numbing out will never help you get to the other side of a rough period of time. But meditation can. You need the strength and courage to get through trying times. Having a meditation practice increases your resilience.  Whatever spiritual practices you love incorporating into your daily life – perhaps a morning spiritual routine or prayer session – keep those practices going, and allow them to be a sanctuary into which you retreat when the going gets tough. P.S. Coming Home: 30-Minute Guided Meditation

The Heart Is Where The Home Is. Coming HomeFor this meditation, find a comfortable spot to nestle into. Feather your nest, and settle in. Pain and suffering is inevitable in life. The ancient teachings tell us to not run from these pains, but rather to make peace with them. To come home to ourselves. Self-kindness, self-acceptance and unconditional self-love is called Maitri. This Buddhist teaching has been rippling through the world for thousands of years now, and yet we still struggle with it. Which means that it’s a part of our human experience. It’s a practice – a journey from our struggle, to the coming home to ourselves in order to ease our suffering. We start this process with the very seat of kindness, compassion and love – which is at the core of our tender heart. The mantra we will use today is anahata ritam.  Thank you for joining me in the ever-loving gap. Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha: Radiating Strength through Stillness

Yoga Chitta Vritti Nirodha- Life Tools Hello, Spiritual Warrior!   

The second verse in Patanjali’s Yoga Suitras is yoga chitta vritti nirodha – which means yoga is the stilling of the fluctuations of the mind.

But how do we internalize this concept so deeply that it becomes embedded into everything that we see, feel, do and experience as we move through life?

Abhyasa = the daily practice that we show up to every day. This is the practice we dedicate ourselves to. When we have a meditation practice, we are cultivating our ability to witness. And when we cultivate our ability to witness, we are able to be more aware of viraghya – nonattachment. 

If we have a dedicated practice of abhyasa, and we also practice viraghya – nonattachment to the fluctuations that come and go – that is how we integrate yoga chitta vritti nirodha into our life. 

Theory without practical application doesn’t mean anything. This is why a daily practice is so important – bookending our day with meditation. Meditation allows us to show up differently – with more patience, peace, presence, empathy, compassion, allowing, nonattachment, etc. 

It all comes down to just showing up – do the practice, and all will come.

Let this be a reminder that you don’t need to “do” anything to get to where we are going with meditation – we just need to get still, and become the witness.

Metta: Spreading Love Energies

Life Tools : What is Metta? Metta is a Buddhist practice of energetically sharing loving kindness out into the world. 

 

The beauty of a Metta practice is that it doesn’t need to just be done in the depths of meditation. While that is one way to experience Metta, we can also experience it in our day-to-day lives while fully awake and moving throughout our day. 

Standing in line at a store? Send metta to everyone around you. Sitting in traffic? Send metta to everyone in every car surrounding you. Got a stressful event coming up, like a test or a job interview? Send metta to the situation! 

It is in the giving of Metta – letting it radiate out from your heart to others – that we also receive it back. The very act of spreading loving kindness out into the world can’t help but reflect back to you. What a powerful way to shift your energy and raise the vibration of yourself and everyone around you!

Give it a try today, and tomorrow, and every day. You’ll find a beautiful shift in your life!

Finding Your Life's Purpose Hello, Spiritual Warrior!

In this video, I share 10 Steps to Finding Your Life’s Purpose. 

What is your dharma, your life’s meaning? The word Dhri means ‘to hold’ – what holds your world together and keeps you continuing to wake up each day with a grateful and eager heart?

If you are still trying to find exactly why you were put on this planet and for what purpose, start the process of self-exploration by absorbing the following questions:

Life's Purpose

Ask ‘what’s my passion?’ – what am I loving in life? How do I lose track of time? What gives me a spark inside? What do I enjoy doing with my time, regardless of financial gain?

Whos’ in my front row? Who are the people that support me, and cheer me on?

What can I offer the world – what’s my unique gift that allows me to help, heal or serve others? What am I good at? Where do my talents lie?

What am I an expert in? (Give yourself props and pat yourself on the back for the things you are brilliant at!)

What is my dream? What is my desire? What is calling to me?

What can I leverage right now, in my current situation? How can I raise my vibration in the world right now?

What step can I take to move me closer to the dream? (Think baby steps!)

What do I need to do in order to walk that step? What people are surrounding me that can help?

Can I give myself permission right now to reach out to who I need to? Who or what will be taking me further towards my highest expression?

What commitment do I make to myself right now? A commitment is a sacred pact between my soul and the universe. How can I commit more to my own personal journey in the world?

Allow these questions to seep into your consciousness as you continue to expand your horizons and evolve into your highest expression. Remember that YOU are the one you’ve been waiting for all this time!

Before settling in for this meditation, remember that Comfort is Queen, and so I invite you to feather your nest and settle into the sacred space of your heart.

We begin this meditation with a few sacred questions before setting an intention – planting a seed into the fertile soil of our heart.

We have total control over our outlook, and no control over our outcome. So we have a responsibility to plant the seeds, and then release them out into the universe.

You are a human being, so in this moment, just be. Know that you are whole, perfect and pure just as you are.

Let’s bring our attention to our throat chakra – the Vissudha chakra – our permission center. It’s vibration is ham.

We will use the mantra om ham ritam – this mantra will open up a space for you to step into your power and awaken your best version as we flow with the rhythm of the universe into this meditation.

Remember that you are the universe – Aham Brahmasmi, Baby!

The power of presence can be your fractal to walk through this world with greater grace and greater ease. In the Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2 Verse 48, we learn that Arjuna is asking God how to live his life – and God replies ‘Yogastha Kuru Karmani’ – establish yourself in the present moment and then perform action.

In other words, Get Still, and then Be Brilliant.

Infuse the power of presence into all that you do, and watch how everything transforms.
