Am I Worthy?

Am I Worthy? It’s a huge question! Hello, Spiritual Warrior!

Am I entitled to happiness? Freedom? Joy?

Sometimes we can convince ourselves that we are undeserving, that we aren’t living up to the standards society creates for us, that we are not smart enough, strong enough, good looking enough. The list can go on forever.

It’s exhausting and unnecessary to live like this, and we need to remember that suffering is optional!Am I Worthy?

We will always make mistakes, we will do things we wish we could change – and while we can’t go back and change the past, we can make changes with our choices moving forward and how we will speak to and love ourselves.

Make the choice today to forgive where you need to forgive, knowing that often that forgiveness begins with ourselves!

If you’ve been dimming your light for whatever reason, now is the time to flip the script and change the narrative.

As Tavis Smiley says – we can “fail up” from our life lessons. Take what has happened and turn it into something better. And trust that deep within, you are whole and perfect and pure, and every moment is perfect because it leads us to the next moment.

Let’s ask ourselves – what is the highest vibration I can bring to this moment?

Looking at our lives in this way helps us to reclaim the strength and power that is always located deep within, that we often push down or disregard.

Let’s root for our own suffering to end and look at ourselves through eyes of compassion and grace. And let’s remember that we are human, and that this is part of what life is – to learn how to “fail up” with each life experience that we live through.

18-Minute Guided Meditation Discovering Your Dharma

Hello Spiritual Warrior! Dharma is the principle that sustains the order of the universe. Activating our Dharma.

Please enjoy this 18-minute meditation dedicated to activating our Dharma.

Dharma is the principle that sustains the order of the universe. It allows us to express our unique gifts and talents in service of others – if we can help, heal and service others, then we are living in alignment with our destined path.

In this meditation, we are going to go deep into our Ajna chakra – the third eye.

The third eye is the doorway to divine answers – so let’s ask ourselves:

What is my unique gift?
What is my special talent?

If you feel some sort of movement or energy in the Third Eye, this means you are awakening it.

The mantra we will use is Om Dharma Namaha.

My unique gifts are channeled to help heal and serve others. I am in alignment with the universe.

Silently repeat it over and over and over. Living our DharmaWhenever you notice that you drift away, ever so gently return to the mantra. Plant this mantra like a seed in the fertile soil of our Third Eye. And then let go and let the universe do the work.

Thank you for taking this time to meditate with me today. I’ll see you in the gap.

Living our Dharma

Looking at Living our Dharma - our noble purpose, our dream life. Hello, Spiritual Warrior!

This week we are looking at Living our Dharma – our noble purpose, our dream life. What would you be doing with your life if you didn’t have to think about money or all of the day-to-day things that can sometimes get in the way of us living our deepest desires?

In this video, I’ve listed ten questions that you can ask yourself, in order to start living in more alignment towards your truest purpose, the reason you are here – on this planet, right here and now:

What sparks my passion?Living our DharmaWho’s in my front row – who are my cheerleaders? Let me put my attention on them and not on the people who aren’t rooting for me.What is my unique gift, my talent, to serve or heal others? What can I offer the world – the things that light me up and offer solutions to other people’s problems? What’s my dream? My deepest desire? What can I leverage right now – what can I do and how can I raise my vibration in the world right now? What step can I take right now – a baby step – to get closer to the dream? What’s involved with that step – what do I need to do? What’s the action I need to take? Will I give myself permission right now to reach out to whoever I need to?What commitment can I make right now?

Give yourself some time to ponder these questions, and then take the actions needed in order to live more in alignment with your destined path. You are here for a reason! Let the world see the unique light that only you can shine.

Present Moment Awareness

Let’s break down the meaning of present moment awareness. Hello, Spiritual Warrior!

One of my favorite teachings comes from the ancient text The Bhagavad Gita:

YOGASTHA KURU KARMANI, which means establish yourself in the present moment, and then perform action. It speaks to being mindful with every action that we take.

Let’s break down the meaning of this:Present Moment Awareness

Yogastha = establish yourself in yoga/union/oneness/the present moment
Kuru = then perform
Karmani (karma) – action

In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna has a situation in which he finds himself confused and challenged. Krishna offers him this advice when he doesn’t know what to do: Yogastha Kuru Karmani. Establish yourself in the present moment, and then perform action.

Often our heart and our commitments have the ability to create conflict in our lives – our heart tells us one thing, but our mind and our circumstances tell us another.

When you need to make a decision, become present, and then perform action.

And then whatever decisions you make, be there fully. You have to show up with all of your heart – both for yourself as well as for others. Follow your heart and bring it with you everywhere you go.

Upekka 15-Minute Guided Meditation dedicated to Equanimity

Hello Spiritual Warrior! cultivating our being fully present and allowing ourselves to remember our divinity. Upekka – Equanimity

Please enjoy this 15-minute meditation dedicated to cultivating our being fully present and allowing ourselves to remember our divinity. The mantra we will use is Aham Brahmasmi.

Upekka means Equanimity. And Equanimity means to be in a state of balance, unwavering despite whatever circumstances are around us.

Whatever has transpired in the past, and whatever will transpire in the future has nothing to do with the here and now. When we take the time to become more centered and at peace within, the winds of change that are circling around us don’t affect us.

Allow yourself to receive the following statements:Upekka

I am at peace with this moment.
I accept this moment.
My perfection rests in the sacred present moment.
In this moment there is no fear.
In this moment there is no grievance.
In this moment there is no regret, because all is perfect right now.

Receive the message from the universe that ALL IS WELL.

In this moment, you are fully aligned with the universe.
In this moment the universe comforts you.
In this moment you are supported, and loved, and protected.

Aham Brahmasmi means I am the Universe. When we know that we are the universe, we can remain undisturbed in the midst of disturbance. We can stay rooted while the winds of change swirl around us. We can remain unmoving in the midst of great change.

Repeat this powerful mantra to yourself every time you find your feathers getting ruffled. You are so much bigger than that which is the disturbance!

Thank you for taking this time to meditate with me today. I’ll see you in the gap.

Source Life Tools Brahmavihara Upekka

Let’s look at the powerful impact that Upekka can have on our lives. Let’s dive into another Life Tools!

This week we are continuing our journey into a 4-part series on The Brahmaviharas, aka the Four Virtues. They are Upekka (equanimity), Metta (unconditional loving kindness), Karuna (compassion), and Mudita (empathetic joy). When we awaken these four virtues, or “boundless abodes” in our life, we will live with greater grace and ease. We will be living in more alignment, and with a deeper connection to source.Upekka

Upekka means equanimity, which also means equality, balance and even-mindedness.

It can be easy to practice equanimity with the things that we don’t have reactions to – but the true power of its impact comes when something is happening that we don’t want.

How can we be undisturbed in the midst of disturbance?

This video is the perfect example of how Upekka can show up for us. When the chainsaw started as I was recording this video, I had two options:

Resist what was happening, and maybe even get up and move my location.

Accept what was happening, and as it turned out, the disturbance was in perfect alignment for me to teach about and practice Upekka!

When we live with equanimity, we treat people and situations impartially. Even if we don’t like them. We live with a greater sense of serenity, and we become unwavering in the face of loss or gain.

We raise our vibration by not allowing annoyances to consume us. What this gives us is peace of mind, and an unshakeable foundation from which to live.

One of the great lessons from The Bhagavad Gita is Yogastha Kuru Karmani: Establish yourself in the present moment, and then perform action.

When we internalize this concept, we can walk through the world in a much more balanced space. Fully present, and allowing the world to come to us as it is. We can be a silent witness, absorb it all in, and remain undisturbed.

Mudita 15-Minute Guided Meditation Practicing empathetic joy

Hello Spiritual Warrior! Practicing your empathetic joy.

Please enjoy this 15-minute meditation dedicated to cultivating our best expression. The mantra we will use is Ananda.

There’s a beautiful old Cherokee tale:

A wise old Cherokee Chief is talking to his grandson, and he is telling him about how there is a fight going on within him. It is a fight between two wolves.

On one side, the wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, regret, sorrow, greed , arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, regret, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt and ego.

On the other side, the wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.

The grandson asks his grandfather “Which wolf will win?”supporting success of others will never dampen your own. Practicing empathetic joy.

The wise Chief answers “the one that you feed.”

Let’s use this meditation in order to remind us to lean in to that good wolf that is within us – the wolf that spreads joy and love, and wants nothing but the best for all of humankind.

Our mantra is simply ‘Ananda’, which means bliss.

Nothing more, nothing less. Simply bliss.Thank you for taking this time to meditate with me today. I’ll see you in the gap.

Source Life Tools Brahmavihara Mudita

Hello Spiritual Warrior! Let’s look at the beautiful impact that practicing Mudita can have on our lives. Let’s dive into another Life Tools!

This week we are continuing our journey into a 4-part series on The Brahmaviharas, aka the Four Virtues. They are Metta (unconditional loving kindness), Karuna (compassion), Mudita (empathetic joy), and Upekka (equanimity). When we awaken these four virtues, or “boundless abodes” in our life, we will live with greater grace and ease. We will be living in more alignment, and with a deeper connection to source.

Mudita is empathetic joy. In essence, it is rooting for someone else’s win.

Mudita follows the golden rule – treat others as you would like to be treated. We all would want others to be happy for us when we are happy – and when we are able to offer that empathetic joy back to others, we will find it coming back to us.supporting success of others will never dampen your own

Mudita is perhaps even more powerful when we practice it with those that we have a grievance with, or those who we don’t like, or even those who are the recipient of something that we really wanted (for example, a colleague who we don’t care for gets a promotion over us).

When we can root for that person to succeed, when we wish them success – and mean it – that is when we are practicing Mudita.

Mudita is not an inherent trait for most people. It is a skill that must be learned and practiced.

And the more it’s learned and practiced, the more likely we are to be the recipient of the same level of kindness and empathetic joy that we gave out.

As the old saying says, “what comes around go around.”

Spread Mudita near and far, and see how your life changes as a result!
