Opening Your Chakras: 17-Minute Guided Meditation

Hello, Spiritual Warrior,

Ready to open some energy in your body?

Let’s settle in for this 17-minute guided meditation on Opening Your Chakras.

For this meditation, you’ll want to lie down, so create a comfortable space where you can lie comfortably.

We’ll be doing a body scan and checking in with each of our seven Chakras.

But first – what are the chakras? And what are we doing with them in this meditation?

Our bodies have seven main chakras, which are energy centers.

The Chakras are the junction points between your physical body and the ethereal body.

Between the physical, local domain of sound, sensation, sight, smell and taste where we exist in physical form – and the non-physical, non-local domain of the unmanifest.

Here’s a quick overview of each chakra – with their sanskrit name, color, vibration and meaning. I go into further detail about each chakra in the meditation!

Root  = muladhara chakra.

Color is Red, vibration is Laam.

Connection, groundedness, stability.

Sacral = svadhisthana chakra.

Color is Orange. Vibration is Vaam.

Creativite energy, awakening, birth, growth and expansion.

Solar Plexus = manipura chakra.

Color is yellow. Vibration is Raam.

Forward movement. Getting it done. Inner fire.

Heart = anahata chakra.

Color is green. Vibration is Yaam.

Love, compassion, and empathy.

Throat = visshudha chakra.

Color is deep blue. Vibration is Haam.

Expression, permission, your voice in the world.

Third Eye = ajna chakra.

Color is purple. Vibration is Shaam.

Connection to spirit. Intuition, trusting the universe.

Crown = sahasrara chakra.

Color is white / ultraviolet. Vibration is Om.

Pure being. No thinking or doing. All knowing, all-seeing, pure consciousness.

I invite you to come back to this meditation whenever you are feeling like your body, mind and spirit need a reset.

I personally do a chakra meditation every day, just to clear out anything that isn’t serving me!

How (and why!) to Ritualize Your Meditation Practice

Hello, Spiritual Warrior,

Today I invite you to ritualize your practice, so that you can find peace no matter what is going on around you.

Here’s a clip from my recent Masters of Wisdom & Meditation Teacher Training certification week, where we spent a week together on the beach, solidifying our practice and creating a ritual that we wouldn’t be able to live without, even once we were back to our regular daily lives.

The truth is, there will always be distractions.

There will always be traffic noise, or dogs barking, or dings from your phone.

There will always be those things outside of you that are also outside of your control.

But what we can learn to do is to control ourselves, no matter what is going on around us. And we cultivate this practice by ritualizing it.

By letting it be just another part of our day – like brushing our teeth or putting on our clothes.

Once something becomes ritualized, it just becomes a part of what you do.

And remember – this is about consistency, not duration.

Some days you might have just five minutes to spare, and others you might have 25.

How long you meditate doesn’t matter. What matters is that you show up and do it.

Have you ritualized your meditation practice?

I’d love to hear from you! Feel free to write to me at teamdavidji@davidji.com and tell me about it.

Healing The Past: 15-Minute Guided Meditation

Hello Name,

Each of us is holding on to something from the past. Something that weighs on us, gnawing at the tenderness of our heart.

It might be something from five days ago, five years ago, or 25 years ago. And today, we have an opportunity to lessen its burden on us.

Let’s start by asking the question – What is Healing?

Healing is when we let the universe’s grace unfold for us. When we allow ourselves to return to our innate wholeness, to our most genuine self.

The Buddha said:

All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we create the world.

Meditation is the key to get us there.

So in today’s meditation, we are going to give ourselves permission to release one non-nourishing piece of ourselves that isn’t serving us.

Just choose one thing to release today. We don’t need to be overwhelmed by the various things in our life that are weighing on us – for today, just choose one.

We’ll use the mantra sat – chit – ananda.

Truth, Knowingness, Bliss.

There are infinite possibilities in every sacred, precious present moment.

I’ll see you in the gap. ✨

The Beauty in Me is a Reflection of You – Rumi

Dear Friend,

Today I just wanted to share a short and yet powerful message.

The wise poet Rumi once said “The beauty you see in me, is a reflection of you.”

This world is a mirror, and what we receive back to us is simply a reflection of our own inner beauty. Remind yourself of this every time you witness a kindness, a moment of thoughtfulness, or any sort of beauty in the world. It’s as simple and profound as your own true nature being reflected right back to you.

Go out of your way today to make someone smile. By doing so, you not only lift them up, but yourself as well.

Sending you love,

davidji

Moving Through Loss: 18-Minute Guided Meditation

Hello, Spiritual Warrior.

Let’s take a journey into our hearts today with this meditation on Moving Through Loss.

I’ll start this meditation with the Serenity Prayer:

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

The courage to change the things I can,

And the wisdom to know the difference.

You may be going through emotions of loss right now. And along with loss comes grief.

Today let’s allow ourselves to feel what we feel. Grief can never be lessened by pushing it away, it can only be integrated through feeling it fully.

Today I invite you to find a quiet space to sit or lie down, feather your nest and settle in to begin to lean into any grief you may be experiencing right now.

If this process brings up tears or emotions, notice where you feel it in your body.

Perhaps bring your hand to that area and allow yourself to feel it.

Allow your breath to soften the experience – not to push it away, but to breathe in a light and healing energy into wherever you need it.

Allow your breath to carry its universal healing powers, easing this process and allowing you to let go of what no longer serves you.

We’ll use the mantra om moksha namah as we visualize a green healing light flowing into our body.

Take some time with this meditation to feel, and to come home to yourself.

And allow the breath to help you heal, just for today.

Thank you for joining me in the gap, I’m sending you love.

– davidji

Life Tools: What is Yogastha Kuru Karmani?

Hello, Spiritual Warrior – let’s dive into a lesson from the Bhagavad Gita today!

Chapter 2, Verse 48 of the ancient text states Yogastha Kuru Karmani.

Yogastha = establish yourself in yoga / union / oneness / present moment

Kuru = then perform

Karmani = action (karma)

These are the words that Lord Krishna shares with Arjuna, when he’s facing one of the biggest dilemmas he’s ever experienced in his life.

Arjuna is at a crossroads – not sure what to do next – and Lord Krishna tells him to yogastha kuru karmani.

Establish yourself in the present moment, and then perform action.

Maybe you are here right now – maybe you are at a crossroads just like Arjuna was.

You may find yourself wanting to leave a job, or maybe a relationship.

The call from the other side of what you are facing may be the loudest voice in the room.

Or maybe this crossroads is teaching you that your best path forward is to keep the commitments that you have made.

Making the decision to stay in whatever situation you are in – in which you wondered about the alternative – is always a valid choice.

However, if you do keep yourself there, then you must commit to it wholeheartedly. Everyone in your life deserves to have you show up as your best.

Remember that you are never stuck!

You can always make a new decision or forge a new path.

Just make sure that you are doing so with compassion and mindfulness for everyone that your decision will impact.

This is how we practice yogastha kuru karmani.

Awakening Your Highest Vibration: 30-Minute Guided Meditation

Ready to raise your vibration, Spiritual Warrior?

Together we are going to journey to a place of tranquility, deep healing. In today’s meditation, we are going to use an ancient technique to get us there.

The beauty of the ancient teachings is that they are as relevant today as they were thousands of years ago. We may think that the world has gotten infinitely more complex than it was back then – and in many ways, it has – yet humans back then had many of the same problems that we still do today.

Just like us, they lived with stress, they lived with minds that pulled them in a multitude of directions, and they needed help finding ways to live with greater grace and greater ease.

So let’s take some time today to utilize an ancient meditation technique: a mantra-based practice with seed sounds.

Seed sounds are the very first sounds of existence. There is no meaning to them – they are just vibrations – but they are correlated to the energy they create within us and the real-world application outside of us.

So in today’s meditation, we will use the mantra Om Ah Hum.

Om resides in the mind

Ah resides in our speech

Hum resides in our heart

As we repeat the mantra, alignment between mind, speech and heart begins to grow and awaken.

I invite you to take some time for yourself today – feather your nest and settle in to create peace in body, mind and heart.

Om Ah Hum,

davidji

The Sacred Reflections: A Gratitude Practice

Hello, Spiritual Warrior! Let’s cultivate our gratitude practice today.

In this video, I ask you to reflect on Five Sacred Questions:

1. What am I grateful for?
2. Why am I grateful?
3. What does my heart long for?
4. What is the essence of my core being?
5. How can I help others doing what I love?

Journaling on these questions can bring insights and aha moments that you may not find otherwise.

I encourage you to find some time and space to reflect on these questions, and the powerful perspective shift they can bring!

Thank you for joining me for this practice today.

Life Tools: The Science Behind Fight or Flight

Hello, Spiritual Warrior! Thank you for being here today.

Humans are hard-wired with this self-preservation mechanism known as fight or flight. It’s woven into our physiology, and has been for tens of thousands of years. This design of the body goes back to the days when humans were evolving and living amongst the dangers of the animal kingdom.

Tens of thousands of years ago, when you were walking through a jungle and knew you were being tracked by a sabertooth tiger, your body put a system in place to help ensure your survival. That system is called fight or flight – you either fight back, or you run.

In less than 5 seconds, your autonomic nervous system makes sure it does all that it can to help you survive. Here’s a few ways that your nervous system jumps into high gear:

You’ll immediately begin to perspire, as you will overheat either fighting or runningYour breath becomes rapid and shallow, helping the blood start flowingYour heartbeat races, and blood pressure increasesPeripheral vision shrinks – our bodies are helping us to only focus on this one thing in front of usOur five senses start to shut down, and we will zone into whatever sense we needOur blood begins clotting, so that if we are attacked, our body will heal fasterWe get a huge surge of adrenaline – so that 100% of our resources are given to fight or flight

All of this happens within 5 seconds, and can last for up to 18 hours if we survive the situation.

These days, we are no longer being chased by a sabertooth tiger, but now we have threats that look quite different. We are living in a society of triggers now that look much different than being attacked by a wild animal, yet the physiological response in the body is still the same.

So how can we manage this? One of my favorite tools to help is a breathing exercise called the 16 Seconds Technique:

Breathe in through noseWatch the breath come in, go down into the belly.Hold and watch and witness. Then release it – watching as it flows out.Hold and watch and witness.

By simply doing this exercise (over and over again if needed!), you can move yourself from an experience of fight / flight back into a space of calm and restful awareness.

Soothing Your Heart: 20-Minute Self-Love Guided Meditation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2lk-...

Hello, Spiritual Warrior! Let’s spend some time soothing our hearts together.

Sometime in our childhood, we were taught about our own self-worth and our relevance in the world. We knew kindness and self-love and self-compassion. And yet, as children, we didn’t have the tools to even understand what all of this meant. We created ways to show up and interact with the world that worked for us.

Each of us, at our core, has a deeper pain that is still sitting in our hearts.

We may still have issues left over from childhood. Instead of being those tender, kinder people – we learned to build a wall around our heart, a fortress to protect us.

But in this moment, we can let go of that. We can choose to let go of what no longer serves us.

Let’s love and thank the child that didn’t have the words. Let’s be grateful for that tender, sweet child who worked so hard to protect our heart.

It’s time for self-compassion and self-love. Bask in the radiance of you. Bask in the oneness.

Let this meditation take you there.

We’ll use the mantra Aham Brahmasmi – I am the Universe.

I’ll see you in the ever-loving peace of the gap. ✨
