Midden in de drukte ruimte voor rust.
Een zennn-momentje midden in het drukke Hoog Catharijne. Het kan bij Seats2Meet Utrecht CS. Op vrijdag 12 april van 09.30 tot 10.15 uur kun je kennismaken met zen.
Veel mensen zoeken in deze drukke wereld naar rust in hun hoofd. Het is geen verrassing dat de interesse voor yoga, mindfulness en zen alsmaar groeit. Misschien herken je wel dat je de koffie vaak al op hebt voordat je het in de gaten had. Of dat je tijdens een gesprek steeds zit te denken aan je to-do lijstje. Dat het lente is geworden en je de vogels nog niet hebt horen fluiten.
We beloven geen gouden bergen en geluk. We geven geen garanties. Dát zentraining verandering brengt is zeker maar hoe dat er voor jou uitziet kan niemand voorspellen. We doen niet veel meer dan zitten, lopen en thee drinken. Je zit stil en oefent om je aandacht te houden bij wat er is.
Anne-Pim, recentelijk deelnemer van de zenmeditatie deelt haar ervaring:
Ik vond het idee dat je langer dan 10 minuten “niets” doet en gewoon zit behoorlijk spannend. Gelukkig blijkt dat in de praktijk vooral ontspannend en rustgevend te werken. Sinds ik de beginnerscursus zen meditatie heb afgerond zit ik nu ook enkele keren per week thuis ongeveer 10 minuten te mediteren. Niet altijd leuk, maar wel altijd rustgevend.

Want alleen via kennisuitwisseling en samenwerking kunnen innovatieve ideeën hun weg naar de markt vinden. Uw deskundigheid is daarbij onmisbaar.
Voor wie is Patent Match?
Bezoekers aan PatentMatch lopen rond met een goed idee, hebben iets uitgevonden en kunnen hulp en advies gebruiken bij de vervolgstappen naar een succesvolle marktintroductie. Denk hierbij aan studenten, uitvinders, researchers, startups en business valorisatie adviseurs. Maar ook bedrijven met patenten, die al uitvindingen ‘op de plank’ hebben liggen. Een groot deel van hen heeft geen ervaring met het zelf op de markt brengen van nieuwe producten. U kunt hen daarbij helpen.

Initiatiefnemer van PatentMatch is Hans Kamphuis, eigenaar van The Link Solutions en auteur van het boek Van Inventie naar Innovatie. Hij werkt ook bij de Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO). Neem contact op met Hans Kamphuis en bekijk de mogelijkheden voor deelname als expert op de informatiemarkt.

Hoe lang werk jij al modern?
De afgelpen maanden stortte ik me op het organiseren van S2M Festival Connecting Stories in samenwerking met de Werkvereniging. Waarom het onderwerp zo bij mij past besefte ik pas op de dag van het festival zelf. Ik werk namelijk altijd al modern. Vanaf het moment dat ik afstudeerde op mijn 21e maakte ik keuzes die niet pasten bij een ‘normaal’ werkende (met als doel heel lang op een plek te blijven werken). Mijn eerste baan combineerde ik parttime met een tweede studie, om vervolgens twee parttime banen te nemen die perfect op elkaar aansloten. Ik zorgde wel voor één vast contract (omdat de opdrachtgevers van beide banen in een samenwerkingsverbond zaten, was dat eenvoudig te regelen), zodat ik mijn eerste (en tot nog toe enige) huis kon kopen.
Na die baan begon ik voor mezelf, als communicatieprofessional. Toen die rol me na twee jaar niet meer paste ging ik weer in loondienst. Als ik nu terug kijk zie ik dat mijn loopbaan geen standaardcarrière is waarbij ik groeide naar meer verantwoordelijkheid en meer salaris. Ik maakte zijstapjes in andere branches, probeerde van alles en nog wat uit. Er waren momenten waarop ik niets verdiende en leefde in ruil voor kost en inwoning. Door mijn vaste lasten laag te houden, hoefde ik ook niet altijd geld te verdienen met het werk dat ik deed.
Onzekerheid
Natuurlijk dacht ik wel eens na over het idee dat ik geen pensioen zou opbouwen of dat ik geen spaarpot had als het moeilijk was. En moeilijk werd het, toch heb ik altijd het idee gehad dat ik me niet wilde voorbereiden op een pensioen of heel veel wilde sparen, ik wil juist nu leven. Ik wil steeds kiezen voor het leven dat bij mij past. En daarin pas ik me aan aan de behoefte die ik op een bepaald moment heb, of omdat ik iets wil leren. Omdat ik iets nieuws wil doen. Ik ben kok geweest, yogadocent, tekstschrijver, flottieljeleider, chalethost, festivalorganisator, ondernemer, uitgever, huisvrouw, huizenoppas, (huiskamer-)restauranteigenaar, trainer en coach. Het is een veelheid aan dingen die ik heb gedaan die me maken wie ik ben.
En natuurlijk maakt het me af en toe ontzettend onzeker. Toch wil ik het niet anders dan dit. De onzekerheid komt ook vaak door de buitenwereld. En daar ben ik heel lang erg gevoelig voor geweest. Mensen die me toeriepen dat ik op deze manier nooit rijk zou worden, dat ik geen buffer heb voor de toekomst en geen zekerheid. Dat ik nooit gelukkig zou zijn, dat ik altijd zou blijven zoeken en ga zo maar door.
En zo mag je me ook zien, zoekend naar hoe ik mijn leven het liefste wil leiden. Los van dat wat me in mijn jeugd en de jaren daarna is opgelegd door mijn ouders, familie, leerkrachten en andere belangrijke mensen die ik op het pad van mijn leven ben tegengekomen.
Het voordeel van alles uitproberen is dat ik me nooit hoef af te vragen: hoe zou het nu zijn om…. (vul alles maar in wat je zou willen)? Ik weet dat ik kan leren, dat ik kan veranderen, dat ik met weinig kan leven en dat juist de diversiteit me blij maakt. Wetend dat ik kan kiezen en de keuzes kan maken die het beste bij mij passen.
Deze manier van leven maakt me rijker, dan geld me kan geven. Nu ik dit pad al 20 jaar bewandel besef ik dat het een way of life is, meer dan een carrière. En misschien nog wel de belangrijkste les, ik weet dat het altijd goed komt. Ook al weet ik nu niet hoe ik over een paar maanden mijn geld ga verdienen, ik hoef niet bang te zijn dat er niets is, of niets zal komen. Alles is er al, als ik mijn gevoel volg, kan ik alles worden wat ik wil en overal mijn geld verdienen.
Momenteel werk ik als verkoper in een taartencaféetje in Utrecht, schrijf ik aan mijn nieuwe boek en bereid ik me voor op nieuwe workshops en lezingen over hoe je een relaxter leven kunt leiden. Wil je meer weten over hoe ik leef en wat ik doe? Volg me dan via mijn blogs.
