A couple of winters ago, my husband and I went to St. Simon's Island, Georgia. We live in Ontario, Canada and March is cold and very snowy.
This is what we left behindBut for two weeks we rented an apartment on the shore Everyday we went for long walks up and down the shore, marvelling in the beauty and soaking in the sunshine.
This is what we strolled up and down onWe walked 2 or 3 times a day. Just strolled up and down the beach, looking at the sea shells or pelicans.
Love to watch the pelicans fly overAnd we held hands and talked. Talked about what - whatever popped into our heads. It was a wonderfully stress-free, relaxing and romantic getaway. You knew there had to be a book somewhere- :-)

Julie and Robert get ready to go on their lunch date on Weekend Writing Warriors #8Sunday
Welcome to another weekend of Weekend Writing Warriors. My 8 sentence snippet this week is from my first release from my NA contemporary romance – Dancing in Circles - Book 1 of Circles Trilogy.
Scene Set – Julie and Robert are getting ready to go on their lunch date. Robert just handed her his motorcycle helmet."Here, ya wear it. I only got one. You're gonna have to show me the way." He adjusted her chinstrap then steadied his bike as she climbed on.She gave him directions to the restaurant then paused. Not ever having been on a motorcycle before Julie guessed she had two choices: keep steady by wrapping her arms around him, but that seemed too forward, or fall off which was stupid. With a roar, the bike surged ahead. Julie decided being bold was better than dead.
Blurb – One born into privilege and a charmed life surrounded by love and family. The other born to a life of violence on the streets as the solemn gang leader of the notorious Shoresmen. A young, idealistic co-ed, Julie, meets a jaded, cold gang member, Robert, and cracks his icy shell, allowing the warmth of her love to awaken his soul.

What people are saying about Dancing in Circles
5 Stars - I loved the cover, as well as the story. I liked the school setting, and the description in the beginning of Julie and her friends. Julie is the dreamer, searching for a happy ending. I also liked Robert, who is a "bad boy" gang leader. "from the wrong side of the tracks," etc. One of Julie's relatives says he has a heart of gold, and he does. He's smart and practical and I think he's great.
5 Stars - Author Victoria Adams does an excellent job at bringing characters to life. I really enjoyed living through Julie's dream of becoming a dancer and her connection with Robert. Yeah, Robert may have gotten himself in the wrong crowd, but he really does portray a compassionate person and in the end he really does grow on you. Can't wait to see the next one in the series!

Seven sentences from my NA contemporary romance- A Guy and A Girl
Scene set - Chelsea and Hunter are having a disagreement about comittment. Hunter speaks first.
"This is stupid. You know I love you and you know I'll commit to marrying you, but I don't need both pressures at once. Give me a bit of time to settle into my career.""How long is a bit of time? Six weeks? Six months or six years?" She stood up, faced him and asked, "When do I come first in your life?"

Circles Interlocked and a Swoon Worthy Line on Book Boyfriends Cafe #HotForFriday
');
A swoon worthy line from Circles Inerlocked - Book 3 of Circles Trilogy.
scene set - Julie and Robert are in bed.
In the faint moonlight, Julie could see Robert's dark eyes had turned from exhaustion to lust.He wanted to finish what'd been interrupted in the barn. He lowered his face to her lips, savouring the sensations that electrified his body. His kiss was soft as it grazed her skin, just enough pressure to tease - to make her desire more. She trickled the tips of her fingers up his back. Her hand paused. Memories flooded her mind; laughing in class, kissing, eating supper together and being wrapped in each other's arms. How could she have driven him away? She had loved him. He'd loved her. She should've guessed what he'd done and not so many years hating him. She should've trusted him. Trusted those eyes, hands and lips. "I'm so sorry."He slid his body up hers. She could feel his hardness pressing against her belly. "You wanna talk?""I...I...feel...""You feel soft and feminine and decidedly sensuous. You feel and smell like the woman I love. She loves and forgives me for all of my faults and misdeeds and I had forgiven her long ago." He rolled over to his back and settled Julie on his stomach. "You sound like a woman whose head's lost in a whirlwind. Unable to focus on what's important."His hands roamed across her, leaving a trail of tingling sparkles in her flesh. "Forget about the past. Don't think about the future. I'm here and I want your attention. I want to make love to you." Julie felt her insides grow hot, her skin flushed and her toes curled in excitement. His voice deepened. "What I really want to do is to shatter your evening. To feel your heat and passion as your control gives way to an animal lust."Lost in his words and his touch, Julie's head swirled with the sensations swarming through her body. Her chest heaved with desire. Her heart pounded in anticipation. She was unable to respond verbally to Robert. She could only react by instinct. Willingly she released herself to his hands, lips and body and let herself be consumed by their animalistic passion.
Circles Interlocked - Having been betrayed by the man she assumed she was destined to be with forever; Julie Anderson slapped Robert Holiday in an angry ending to their brief love affair. Heartbroken that her love affair didn't end with the fairy tale Happily Ever After, Julie leaves town to pursue her dream of being a dancer. As fate has a curious sense of humor, eight years later, they wake up in bed together. Now it is up to love to fix what time cannot mend.

The first date begins from Dancing in Circles on Weekend Writing Warriors
Welcome to another weekend of Weekend Writing Warriors. My 8 sentence snippet this week is from my first release from my NA contemporary romance – Dancing in Circles - Book 1 of Circles Trilogy.
Scene Set – Julie and Robert meet after classWhen the end of calculus bell rang, Julie and Robert exited without a glance in the other's direction. Julie wanted to keep their lunch date secret, and she hoped Robert understood. She chewed her lip as she looked around the parking lot. What was she doing riding off on a motorcycle with a guy from North Shore? What was it about this man that attracted her so? Was that it? She thought of him as a man, not another of the immature boys she went to school with?He stepped beside her and handed her a black helmet.

A young, idealistic co-ed, Julie, meets a jaded, cold gang member, Robert, and cracks his icy shell, allowing the warmth of her love to awaken his soul.

What people are saying about Dancing in Circles5 stars - Julie I liked, but Robert, loved that guy. He's thrown some insurmountable circumstances to overcome, but he manages a way around it all quite nicely. While he may be the 'bad boy', he still has a heart of gold. The author did a nice job expressing that while we may not all travel the same paths in life, we still are essentially the same people and deserve happiness alike.
