Beliau juga dirujuk oleh Barat sebagai 'an extremely rich cleric and personal friend of the filthy rich Emir of Qatar.' Tidaklah menghairankan John Esposito, memanggil Qaradawi sebagai "reformist interpretation of Islam and its relationship to democracy, pluralism and human rights." (klik sini).

Akhbar Israel Ramal Rakyat Malaysia Tidak Mampu Bangkit Seperti Rakyat Mesir

Ayatullah Ruhullah Khomeini juga menegaskan tentang Hosni Mubarak, "This second president that has been forced on the nation [Hosni Mubarak] imagines that he will reign in Egypt as the other one [Anwar Sadat] did. Before he became president he announced his solidarity with Israel and America. He overlooked that the people threw his predecessor into hell; they will do the same to him. Egypt must know that if they rise as Iran rose they will be successful. The Egyptian nation should not fear martial law; should disregard it just as Iran broke the martial law and came into the streets. The Egyptian scholars should stand up and defend Islam." (Sahifah-i Imam, jilid.15, halaman.285)

"In Jordan, Algeria and Malaysia, however, the findings point to a "positive democratic gap" and a coup is unlikely. In these countries, although they are not characterized by a high level of democratization, the citizens' democratic aspirations are lower, and in such a situation the danger of governmental instability is smaller." (klik sini)

Suzanne Mubarak, Tersungkur Seorang Mama

I believe as the First Lady of our respective countries, we are uniquely position to play a positive role for the benefit of our country. Elenor Roosevelt once said, "That the First Lady is and always has been an unpaid public servant elected by one person i.e. her husband". This is sadly true but while the First Lady is who she is because of her husband, the fact remain that she has to be an untiring servant of the nation. We can play a significant role in complementing the efforts of the government in areas that have impact on families, women and children, which are inherently the domain of women (klik sini dan sini).

Mungkin, saudara fikir saya berbohong memandangkan Mama Suzanne, seperti Papa Mubarak sedang berada di ambang kejatuhan. Tetapi percayalah, buat sepicing percayalah! Israel pun tercengang, "We were caught by surprise," kata Yuval Steinitz Menteri Kewangan Zionis (klik sini).

Surat Kepada Perdana Menteri

Assalamu'alaikum wr wb
Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri,
REF: Breeding Disunity among Muslims
I am deeply concerned about the recent persecution of Shia Muslims by law enforcement officers from certain state Islamic religious affairs departments. Their actions constitute not only serious violations of the human rights of Shias but, more serious, disobedience to Allah s.w.t's command to Muslims to remain united. The Qur'an teaches: And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you) and be not divided among your selves... [Surah Al Imran 3:103]
On 15 December 2010, during the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) officials raided the ceremony and arrested 200 people including a local scholar and a visiting scholar from Iran. I understand two of them are to be prosecuted in the Shariah court. I cannot imagine how commemoration of the martyrdom at Karbala can constitute a crime.
Muslims all over the world, both Sunnis and Shias, commemorate that historic event, and Imam Hussain's courage and commitment to truth has, ever since his martyrdom, been an inspiration to all those who oppose tyranny, oppression and injustice.
On 17 December 2010, Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a Sunni Muslim, attended a ceremony in Istanbul organised by the Jafaris to commemorate the tragedy at Karbala. In his speech he said: We have been feeling the pain of Karbala for 1,370 years. We have to feel that pain in our hearts. We remember Imam Hussain whenever an innocent person is killed. JAIS should be organising events to commemorate Imam Hussain's martyrdom instead of persecuting those who do.
I am simply astounded at the lack of understanding and prejudice of JAIS officials regarding Shiah Muslims. They consider Shias as deviationists and, according to a news report, JAIS is planning to establish a detention camp for rehabilitating deviationists including Shias. Mohamed Rais Rasid told Malaysiakini that the followers of the Shiite branch of Islam pose the most concern to JAIS.
The consensus among the most learned and respected Ulamas is that Shias are Muslims just like us who belong to Ahl As-Sunnah Wa'l Jama'ah. In July 2006, International Islamic Fiqh Academy, Islamic world's leading judicial body, adopted Resolution 152: Islam and the one ummah, and the schools of Islamic jurisprudence which states:
• Whosoever is an adherent to one of the four Sunni schools (Mathahib) of Islamic jurisprudence {Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali), the two Shi'i schools of Islamic jurisprudence {Ja'fari and Zaydi), the Ibadi school of Islamic jurisprudence and the Thahiri school of Islamic jurisprudence, is a Muslim. Declaring that person an apostate is impossible and impermissible.
• There exists more in common between the various schools of Islamic jurisprudence than there is difference between them. The adherents to the eight schools of Islamic jurisprudence are in agreement as regards the basic principles of Islam.
• All believe in Allah (God), Glorified and Exalted be He, the One and the Unique; that the Noble Qur'an is the Revealed Word of God preserved and protected by God, Exalted be He, from any change or aberration; and that our master Muhammad, may blessings and peace be upon him, is a Prophet and Messenger unto all mankind.
• All are in agreement about the five pillars of Islam: the two testaments of faith shahadatayn); the ritual prayer (salat); almsgiving (zakat); fasting the month of Ramadan (saivni), and the Hajj to the sacred house of God (in Mecca). All are also in agreement about the foundations of belief: belief in Allah (God), His angels, His scriptures, His messengers, and in the Day of Judgment, in Divine Providence in good and in evil.
• Disagreements between the 'ulama (scholars) of the eight schools of Islamic jurisprudence are only with respect to the ancillary branches of religion (furu) and some fundamentals (usul) [of the religion of Islam]. Disagreement with respect to the ancillary branches of religion (furu) is a mercy. Long ago it was said that variance in opinion among the 'ulama (scholars) "is a mercy".
This opinion has been endorsed by over 500 leading Muslim scholars worldwide including Sheikh Muhammad Tantawi, Sheikh Ali Gomaa, Mufti Taqi Usmani, Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, Shaykh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, Ayatolla Sistani, Prof. Dr. Kamal Hasan and grand muftis from several Muslim countries.
There are extremist elements among both Shias and Sunnis who, in some countries even resort to violence, sometimes even inside mosques. Such elements must be exposed and isolated as they breed disunity among Muslims and defame Islam. There is also no need for proselytisation among Muslims. Dialogue between Shias and Sunnis must be promoted and encouraged, and differences discussed in an environment of brotherhood.
We need to be aware that sectarian conflicts are being promoted by enemies of Islam who want to impose their hegemony on Muslim societies and control the resources in Muslim states. We see that in Iraq, Lebanon and Pakistan. Imperialist forces are working to partition Iraq, Lebanon, and Pakistan along sectarian or tribal lines; instigating 'moderate' Arab states to join with the United States and Israel to destroy Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Palestine and bring about regime change in Iran. Regrettably some ulamas have allowed themselves to be used as tools by imperialists and despots for creating disunity among Muslims.
I appeal to you to take steps to promote unity among Muslims. I urge you to:
• Move the Rulers' Council to discuss and endorse Resolution 152: Islam and the one ummah, and the schools of Islamic jurisprudence adopted by the International Islamic Fiqh Academy in July 2006
• Take steps to educate the officials from the state Islamic religious departments, the media and the public on sectarian differences, Resolution 152 and the imperialist strategy to create disunity among Muslims
• Get the National Fatwa Council to issue a fatwa endorsing the opinion embodied in Resolution 152
• Promote dialogue between Shias and Sunnis.
Kind regards
Yours truly,

"Kami juga mempunyai cadangan membentuk "کمیته وحدت اسلامی ایران و مالزی " (Jawatankuasa Perpaduan Islam Iran dan Malaysia).

Dalam usaha memperbaiki hubungan kedua-dua buah negara, Datuk Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar mengatakan, "Iran's scientific and technological progress is a source of pride for Muslims and belongs to all Muslim nations." (Sumber lain di sini)
Saya ulangi, meminjam kata-kata Datuk Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, Iran adalah "pride for Muslims and belongs to all Muslim nations."
Ulasan saya: Issyy, tiba-tiba saya pula berasa malu!

In a Muslim State, Fear Sends Some Worship Underground

KUALA LUMPUR — Like most Muslims in Malaysia, Mohammad Shah was raised according to the Sunni school of Islam. But when he was about 30, he said, he came to believe that Sunni teachings did not answer all of his questions about Islam. He began reading about the Shiite school of thought, the world's second largest Islamic sect, and decided that "Sunni was not right for me."
"I consider myself the new generation of Malaysian Shia," said Mr. Mohammad, 33, using another term to describe Shiites. "My father is Sunni, my mother is Sunni. They are aware that I'm practicing a different school of thought. It's no problem at all."
Such acceptance does not extend to Malaysia's religious authorities.
The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion, but when it comes to Islam, the country's official religion, only the Sunni sect is permitted. Other forms, including Shiite Islam, are considered deviant and are not allowed to be spread.
Mr. Mohammad was one of 130 Shiites detained by the religious authorities in December as they observed Ashura, the Shiite holy day commemorating the death of the Prophet Muhammad's grandson Ali, in their prayer room in an outer suburb of Kuala Lumpur.
There are no official figures on the number of Shiites in Malaysia, but Shiite leaders estimate that there could be as many as 40,000, many of whom practice their faith secretly.
While sectarian divisions are associated more with countries such as Iraq and Pakistan, Islamic experts say Malaysia is a rare example of a Muslim-majority country where the Shiite sect is banned. They say the recent raid reflects the religious authorities' reluctance to accept diversity within Islam, and was part of the authorities' continuing efforts to impose a rigid interpretation of the religion.
Although there had been some earlier arrests of Shiites since the National Fatwa Council, the country's top Islamic body, clarified that Sunni Islam was the official religion in 1996, the December raid on the prayer room occupied by the Lovers of the Prophet's Household was the first in recent years, according to the Shiite group's Iranian-trained leader, Kamil Zuhairi bin Abdul Aziz.
Mr. Kamil and the other Shiites who were detained in the raid have been summoned to appear before the Shariah court for hearings scheduled for March and April to answer charges that they insulted the religious authorities and that they denied, violated or disputed a fatwa. The offenses are punishable by a fine of up to 3,000 ringgit, about $981, imprisonment for up to two years, or both.
On a recent evening, a small group of men and a handful of women with toddlers in tow climbed the three flights of stairs to the prayer room where the raid had taken place.
A sign atop the building, which is sandwiched between a mechanic's workshop and a small cafe on a quiet suburban street, reads "House of Knowledge." A Koranic verse in Arabic marks the entrance.
Inside the prayer room, the flags of Malaysia and the state of Selangor flank a red and black banner bearing the name of Muhammad's grandson.
As many as 100 Shiites attend prayers led by Mr. Kamil each week, although he said many Malaysian followers worship privately. "Most of the Shia are in hiding because of the oppression," he said.
He said some fear they will be discriminated against when they apply for jobs if it is known that they are Shiites, while others are afraid of being detained by the religious authorities.
Some Sunni leaders have claimed that Shiites deviate from the true form of Islam and represent a "threat to national security," according to Mr. Kamil. He said some Sunni leaders, alluding to violence in Iraq and Pakistan, have alleged that Shiite Islam permits the killing of Sunnis, an accusation he emphatically denied.
Since the raid, the group has installed a security grill in the stairwell leading to their prayer room, where a black curtain divides the men's section from the women's.
But Mr. Kamil and others attending the prayer session this evening insisted that they were not afraid to continue practicing their beliefs. "We are not in fear, but we live in difficulty," he said.
Calling for dialogue with the Sunni majority, Mr. Kamil insisted that Malaysian Shiites, some of whom are married to Sunnis, want to live in harmony with all other religions.
A statement issued by a spokesman for the federal government said the Constitution guaranteed religious freedom to all Malaysians, and that the National Fatwa Council was responsible for guiding the practice of Islam in Malaysia.
"In 1996, the National Fatwa Council issued a ruling that Sunni Islam is the official faith of Muslims in Malaysia. Under this ruling, which is enforced by Islamic affairs departments in each Malaysian state, Shia Muslims are free to practice their faith, but are not permitted to proselytize," the statement said.
"It would be inappropriate for the federal government to comment further on this state-based matter."
The Selangor State Islamic Religious Department, which carried out the raid, did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
Harussani Zakaria, a member of the National Fatwa Council, said allowing different sects to practice in Malaysia could lead to disputes. "It already happens in some countries," he said in a telephone interview. "We don't want that to come here."
Chandra Muzaffar, president of the International Movement for a Just World, a nongovernment organization based in Malaysia, said while there may be differences among the various sects, Shiites are part of the Muslim community. "It's just wrong to describe Shia as deviants," he said.
Greg Barton, acting director of the Center for Islam and the Modern World at Monash University in Melbourne, said that Malaysia's religious authorities had adopted a more rigid approach to Islam in recent decades and that space for public discussion of religion had narrowed under the influence of "Saudi Salafism and Egyptian Brotherhood prejudice."
"The group that speaks formally for Malaysian Islam is a very narrow group who have taken a very puritanical approach," said Mr. Barton. "The religious bureaucracy has become a very meddling bureaucracy. It has a very pernicious impact on religious freedom, not just for non-Muslims but for Muslims as well."
Mr. Barton said while there were no precise figures, there are probably tens of thousands of Shiites in Southeast Asia, most in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Mariyah Qibti, who teaches Shiite Islam to children at the prayer room on Sundays, has experienced firsthand the two countries' differing approaches to Shiites. Born to a Shiite family in Indonesia, Ms. Mariyah went to Iran when she was 19 to pursue Islamic studies. Two years ago she married a Malaysian Shiite, and moved to Kuala Lumpur.
Feeding her 1-year-old son as she sat on a rug at the back of the prayer room, she said that, in contrast to Malaysia, in Indonesia Shiites could practice their faith freely.
Despite her looming court appearance in March, she says she is not afraid to continue practicing her beliefs.
"This is part of the risk of being followers of Shia," she said.

Siapa Musuh?
Seseorang bernama nur_sufi07 (klik profil beliau di sini) meninggalkan komen di bawah entri Siapa Memang Lebih Sesat Dari Siapa begini: "Akan muncul diakhir zaman satu golongan yg digelarkan Rafidhah(Syiah). Mereka menolak Islam tetapi mendakwa Islam. PERANGILAH mereka kerana mereka sebenarnya adalah golongan musyrikin" (Hadis riwayat Abu Ya'la, At-Tabarani dan Al-Bazzaar).
Empat kanak-kanak menjadi korban.
(Laporan Press TV)
1 September 2010 di Lahore, Pakistan 25 orang terbunuh termasuk kanak-kanak sementara 100 lagi cedera parah akibat pengeboman berani mati oleh seorang teroris. Dalam keadaan pengikutnya berlumuran darah, ulama Syiah di Lahore, Sheikh Abbas Kumaili, mengeluarkan kenyataan "They are our enemies, both Shiites and Sunnis should remain united and foil their evil designs." (klik sini)

Dalam The Sun: 'Aren't Shi'ites Muslims Too?'

SULOK: I'm a bit confused by the action of some government authorities in breaking up a Shi'ite prayer meeting in a house on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur last month. According to news reports there were some foreigners as well who were questioned but allowed to go. But no such luck for the locals. I wonder why? Are they not Muslims?
Chong: And then there were statements from the education authorities warning students against joining the group.
Sulok: But why? Are they a deviationist group? Are they deviant Muslims?
Mohan: Are there many of them?
Azman: By some estimates there are about 40,000 to 50,000 Shi'ites in the country.
Mohan: That's big. Even though there are about 17 million Muslims in this country 50,000 is still not small. Wonder whether they are included in the 17 million. What do you think Cikgu?

Mohan: But I suppose because of the ban against them they don't readily admit they are Shi'ites.
Sulok: But aren't they Muslims?
Zain: Of course they are.
Sulok: But why act against them?
Azman: Of course there are those who would not think so. But I know there are about 400 million of them in the world mostly concentrated in Iran and Iraq. They are certainly part of the 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. There are 2.2 billion Christians divided into 38,000 denominations.
Chong: Naturally the rest of the Muslims are not going to demand that the Shi'ites be excluded when the number of Muslims in the world is being tallied.
Azman: Naturally.
Chong: So if they are Muslims why are they discriminated against by the other Muslims in this country? Cikgu, please?
Zain: It's a long story my friend. It is historical as well as ideological. Briefly, the split into Sunnism and Shi'ism began after the death of the Prophet Muhammad. It became ideological after the descendants of the prophet's grandsons resisted the ruling group that succeeded him. Even though they were killed in a battle between the two groups, their group found support among the Iranians where it more or less acted as a rallying force against domination by the Arabs.
Chong: No Arabs among them?

Azman: Ya, ya. It banned tomboyism. It banned yoga exercise. And, of course, it banned Shi'ism.

Zain: I think so. I think it is a tough undertaking. Islam as everyone knows is not a monolithic faith. Among the Sunnis itself there are four major schools – Shafie, Maliki, Hanafi and Hanbali. Most Malaysian Muslims are followers of the Shafie school. But the other schools are all acceptable by the religious authorities here.
Azman: What about Qadiani?
Zain: There are some closeted followers here I'm sure. The movement was founded by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in Qadian, a village in Punjab, in 1889. It was called the Ahmadiyya movement and its followers refer to themselves as Ahmadis.
Chong: What's wrong with the Qadiani movement?
Zain: The Ahmadis consider their founder would return as the Messiah or Mahdi towards the end of the world. Not acceptable.
Sulok: What about the movement which has the Aga Khan as its head?
Zain: The followers of the Shi'ite splinter group call themselves Ismailis, and the Aga Khan IV is their head. Ismailis consider him as the 49th imam which claim lineage from Fatimah, Prophet Muhammad's daughter, and her husband Ali. The Aga Khan commands a huge family fortune which he uses to promote art and architecture all over the world and "towards improving the image of Islam throughout the world." Not acceptable.
Chong: I read somewhere that he leads a flamboyant Western lifestyle mostly in the US and Europe.

Zain: It goes to show that Islam is not a monolithic faith but our religious authorities are trying to make it so. As one so called ulamak said recently "pluralism is bad for the country."
