Ask and Ye Shall Receive or The Answer to My 3 a.m. Musings

After my 3am existential ponderings, I decided I’d had enough and was going to bed. I lay there, staring through the blackness at the ceiling doing my best to will myself to sleep, feeling the crawl of seconds like ants in my veins with no sleep in sight. The longer I lay there the more the familiar feeling of revelation began to build. A slow bubble in the base of my brain like a witch’s cauldron coming to boil. My skin tightening and constricting as if it’s growing too tight. A slow itch ac...

More Thoughts on Falling Apart

This passage just about sums up the last two years of my life. It’s always a bit disorienting to have your experience summed up and served back to you.

From When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron:

In any case, the point is not to try and get rid of thoughts, but rather to see their true nature. Thoughts will run us around in circles if we buy into them, but really they are like dream images. They are an illusion – not really all that solid. They are as we say, just thinking … Ultimately, it com...

I Have Character Crushes or Where’s Jimminy Cricket When You Need Him?

Ever since I was young, I’ve had crushes on fictional characters rather than celebrities or other “traditional” type crushes. For me, it’s always been characters that get me going not the actor or celebrity behind the character. My sister had her room plastered with David Cassidy and Leif Garrett, but I just couldn’t get into following those trends. I still don’t.

Cutter

My very first crush, at the age of seven, was on a comic book character – Cutter, Chieftain of the Wolfriders from the series...

A New Blog Game … Who Wants to Play?

In my Exposing Myself post, Rich of BrainSnorts happened to make the suggestion of a blog game where we post pics of ourselves, no faces or identifying info and then everyone guesses who is who. Personally, I think this would be huge fun, so I’ve offered up my blog to host the game. If you’re interested, send me a photo at scribo2011@gmail.com (not gillian@blackdoorpress.com because I don’t always get attachments for some reason.) NOTE: Please put NSFW in your subject line if it’s a naked pic...

The Product of a Sexy Imagination

I often receive pictures from readers. Mostly, I receive kinky Velma pictures that people stumble across and think of me sending them my way. Those are always fun to get. Sometimes, however, I get a pic from a reader where they tell me that the woman in the photo reminds them of me … or, at least their image of me as derived from reading my writing. These are infinitely flattering and lend credence to the statement that the brain is the number one sex organ.

The first picture I received from a...

Exposing Myself or A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

So, the ever erotic HH of MySexLifeWithLola has suggested that we all post pictures of ourselves. Well, GC doesn’t do the sexy picture thing, but I thought, hey why not I can still expose myself pictorially. So, I went shopping recently and as part of my summer loot I picked up two new T-shirts. The first, is just too cute for words…

The second, T-shirt was a must purchase as well. This is Gillian at her nerdy best!

Yes, I’m a die hard Trekkie

It’s Easy to Just be a Cunt or Using One Hole to Fill Another

Note: This is post was extremely difficult to write. Not emotionally, no tears on the keyboard for this, but because I’m trying to articulate lessons learned over thirty-eight years that are very visceral in the experience. I keep reading it and the writing is atrocious, I come off like a man-hating bitch and I’m scattered but I can’t seem to get it better. My apologies in advance.

Answering a Challenge Sexy Style

The ever drool worthy Sam Dolan challenged me to write a similar tale to his “Make Me Yours” post from the male POV. Rather than duplicate his post with a different view point, I took the themes of separation, claiming and desire and wrote my own. Thanks for the inspiration, Sam!

Getting Back Into the Kink of Things

Okay, so it’s been pretty deep over here recently. I don’t know about you guys, but I think a little kinky action is in order. So, I’m calling out for another round of Sexy Blog Games. The last time we did this turned out pretty awesome.

Next Wednesday, May 16 I’ll post a prompt, you guys come behind (literally if you so choose) and kink out the story then I’ll wrap it up. Be there or be square.

Much love … GC

Her Eyes are Always Watching Me

My daughter drew this when she was 9 on the back of a grocery store receipt. It hangs over my desk to remind me that moments of greatness can occur in unlikely places.

The other thing I have hanging over my desk is this image to remind me that creativity must be continuously encouraged and can take many different forms.

Just thought I’d share …
