Dreaming
My dreams are filled
with a union deep and pure
A sensuality so intense
I can barely endure
The pleasure rending my soul
from the brute carnality
the commanding supplication
of my sexuality
Breathe is stolen
Body is tilled
Flesh meets flesh
Empty spaces are filled
Passionate cries fill the night
Even as my dream’s visage fades from sight
Dream is done and dawn is here
Leaving me to hold tight to my dream, so dear.

Old School Rifs
As a result of my Swing post, Jayne Ayres posted one of her favorite Jazz songs by Pearl Bailey. As is quite typical of the symbiosis here in our corner of WordPress, this got me thinking about my own favorite jazz and blues songs. Again, I find myself a bit out of time. While contemporary jazz is okay, I like it old school all the way … I’m talking Nina Simone, Etta James, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald. All the old school vocalists. That’s what I get into. There’s nothing more chill induci...
The Female Inside of You
Creative Noodling inspired this poem with her comment on the Judy Mayspost.
——————————–
Sensuality wrapped in silken flesh
the depths of which leave most to guess
the inner workings of her brain
the way to evoke her lover’s refrain
Yet, even as they long to taste her feminine flower
they don’t comprehend her earthly power
to nurture yet rend, to love and yet rage
to embrace a man so wholly is like the dawning of a new age
Rather than empower and embrace this feminine beast
they cage us, demoralize us to...

Getting Into the Swing of Things
My parents were war babies, as in World War II. They had me well into their thirties, as a result I had significantly older parents than most of my peers. Where theirs were born firmly in the 1950s, my parents were born in 1938 and 1940. This fact has had a profound impact on the music I was exposed to growing up.
My peers parents were all firmly into Motown or 1960s folk and rock. My parents were into Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Patsy Cline, Brenda Lee, the Italian tenors like Mario L...
Music Discoveries
I adore the music service Pandora. It’s always serving me up new treats. I just listened to this song for the first time and it really hit close to home for me.

Lyrics
[Adam Levine]
My heart’s a stereo
It beats for you, so listen close
Hear my thoughts in every note
Make me your radio
Turn me up when you feel low
This melody was meant for you
Just sing along to my stereo
[Travie McCoy]
If I was just another dusty record on the shelf
Would you blow me off and play me like everybody else
If I ask you to scr...
Gaijin by Remittance Girl
Reblogged from Black Door Press:

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Remittance Girl about non-consensual erotica and the effect of publishing restrictions surrounding the topic. She is taking on the challenge of acquiring a PhD and non-con erotica is a focus of her thesis. I am in awe of her commitment to her craft. This lovely chat culminated with her sending me a copy of her story…

I've mentioned this book so many times in recent weeks, it made sense to re...
Insecure Writers Day or Not Being Taken Seriously as a Writer
I was over at CC’s blog, Honesty, and found out that it is Insecure Writer’s Day and you’re supposed to discuss your insecurities as a writer. Well, the truth is, I’m very secure in my writing. I know my capabilities and I know my limitations and whilst I continue to stretch, I’m okay being okay if I never get further than that.
However, I do face a significant challenge by writing erotica and by being willing to share that information, so I’ve decided to post a piece I wrote for Black Velvet...

A Thought for Today
This line from When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron is staying with me today. I thought I’d share:
“This very moment is the perfect teacher, and ti’s always with us” is really a most profound instruction. Just seeing what’s going on — that’s the teaching right there. We can be with what’s happening and not dissociate. Awakeness is found in our pleasure and our pain, our confusion and our wisdom, available in each moment of our weird, unfathomable, ordinary everyday lives.

Open Letter to LGBTQ-phobic Pastor Sean Harris
Reblogged from Raising My Rainbow:

Homophobic North Carolina preacher Sean Norris recently gave a sermon in which he advocated physically assaulting gender variant toddlers. Listen to it here. This letter is my response to him.
Dear Pastor Harris,
Hi. I’m C.J.’s Mom and boy would you hate me! I have a little boy who likes “feminine” things and I’ve allowed him to do so. I’ve even shared it with people on the internet.

The post says it all.
