Urban Outfitters Is Selling Its $79 Denim Jacket for Just $42, and It's an Absolute Steal Ahead of Fall
Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Mall staple Urban Outfitters is no stranger to a big sale, but it just went live with its first annual UO Haul Sale, giving shoppers a chance to save 30% off their entire haul until Aug. 5. The sale features tons of home goods and apparel, but what we're calling the biggest no-brainer deal of the bunch is this black denim jacket from BDG—it's a wardrobe staple that’s easy to get a ton of wear out of and you can get it for under $50.
The BDG Frisco Denim Jacket is just $42 at Urban Outfitters right now, a 47% discount from its normal $79 price tag. That price is a combination of an existing discount and the additional 30% off that’s part of the ongoing UO Haul Sale. It’s received a single, five-star review, but it’s clear that there’s a lot to love about the design and construction of this jacket.
BDG Frisco Denim Jacket, $42 (was $79) at Urban Outfitters
This premium denim jacket is made of 100% cotton. At the moment, it comes in a single colorway, all black, that includes black buttons down the center and at the cuffs. It’s slightly cropped to fit trucker tradition and cut in a boxy fit with a left chest pocket and classic collar.
Without any contrast stitching, patches, silver buttons, or other adornments, this jacket has a simple feel that borders on austerity. Its monochromatism makes it a particularly versatile layer; it looks as good over a band shirt as it does over a button-down.
A black denim jacket is a wardrobe staple, and if you don’t have one (or simply want another with a more reserved feel), the BDG Frisco Denim Jacket is a great choice. This steep discount only makes it an even easier decision, so make sure you snap one up ASAP. Even though this sale lasts until Aug. 5, there’s no guarantee this jacket won’t sell out before then.
On's Cloudrunner 2 Running Shoes Are a Very Rare 30% Off, and They're 'Better Than Any Other Brand' for Comfort
Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Why We Love This DealJust a few days ago, Zappos launched an amazing sale on all kinds of On running shoes, daily road running shoes to trail runners, and more. The wave of On deals continues today with this cushy, stable On sneaker that’s a rare 30% off—though you’ll have to snag your pair ASAP, because it's already selling out in some sizes.
The On Cloudrunner 2 is on sale for just $112, a 30% discount, at Zappos. This daily road running shoe is available in one colorway, Glacier/Sage, at that price, and with a relatively generous size range in stock. We're anticipating this selling out quickly, and if your size is gone, we'd recommend the bouncy On Cloudeclipse—also on sale—as an alternative.
On Cloudrunner 2 Running Shoes in Glacier/Sage, $112 (was $160) at Zappos
The brand bills the Cloudrunner 2 as a “supportive, feel-good running shoe” with a design that focuses on comfort and stability. Shoppers definitely agree (see the review highlights below): The consensus is that this shoe feels great and serves up a comfy ride no matter your pace.
The Cloudrunner isn’t a max-cushion trainer like the Cloudsurfer, but it has a moderate amount of Helion midsole foam to take the sting out of your footfalls, and the signature CloudTec design saves weight and adds some bounce into your steps. The well-padded tongue creates a cushy wrap around your foot, and a heel counter at the back of the upper keeps your heel firmly in place for a stable ride. Shoppers also love the Cloudrunner’s sleek upper—another On hallmark—and say it makes these sneakers great for casual wear, too.
What Shoppers Should KnowSizes Available: The Cloudrunner 2 is available in sizes 7 to 14, but sizes 7.5, 8.5, and 12.5 have sold out. Color Options: Only the Glacier/Sage colorway is available for $112. Another colorway, Undyed/Green, is on sale for $120, but it’s only in stock in size 12.5. Six other colorways are available at full price. Best Use Case: The Cloudrunner 2 is designed for jogs and training runs; you can also wear it as a walking shoe. The Cloudrunner 2 is on sale for $112 in just one colorway, but it has a good size range available, with only three half sizes sold out. This moderately cushioned, stable shoe will make a great everyday trainer for runners, and its comfort-focused design makes it suitable for walking as well.
What Shoppers Are Saying“Perfect fit, comfort, and style.”“They fit great and are comfortable all day.”“Better than any other brand for comfort and stability.”One shopper even called the Cloudrunner “the most comfortable shoes I have ever had.”
The On Cloudrunner 2 serves up an appealing blend of support and comfort, and it’ll help you breeze through your training miles. They’re so comfy, you might just want to keep them on all day long. $112 is an absolute steal for an On sneaker, so don’t miss your chance to score these on the cheap: Zappos is already running out of select sizes, and the Cloudrunner won’t stay in stock much longer.

It seems A-lister Anthony Hopkins can't resist a viral trend when he sees one. The Silence of the Lambs star graced social media with his commentary on Kim Kardashian's latest SKIMS skincare drop and we're here for it.
When a the Kardashians reality star-turned-entrepreneur dropped a now-viral "face wrap" designed to sculpt your jaw, reactions were swift. Some called it "futuristic." Others called it a "medieval torture device." Most likened it to Hannibal Lecter's iconic mask in the 1991 thriller.
But none matched the dry brilliance of the Academy Award-winning icon that is Hopkins.
In a now-viral Instagram post, the actor best known for portraying a certain fava bean-loving doctor looks directly into the camera and says with zero hesitation: “Hello Kim, I'm already feeling 10 years younger."
The delivery is pure deadpan. The caption? Even better: "Thank you, Kim. Don’t be afraid to come over for dinner," he wrote, tagging Kardashian and the official SKIMS account.
The comment section exploded. "Are you having Kim for dinner???" one reads. "Anthony Hopkins dissing Kim wasn’t on my bingo list," reads another. "Great actor with a great sense of humor!" says one Hopkins fan.
The face wrap in question is marketed as "face shapewear" that’s "infused with collagen yarns" and built to support the jaw. It retails for $48 and quickly sold out online (but not before being compared to everything from Silence of the Lambs to The Handmaid’s Tale).
To be fair, some fans have pointed out potential benefits for users dealing with jaw tension or recovering from facial surgery. A few even praised the product for helping manage TMJ symptoms.
Still, it’s hard to deny that the viral commentary. And Hopkins' viral video is certainly stealing the spotlight.

Sudden Trade Sends MLB Star Straight from One Plane to Another Ahead of Deadline
The 2025 MLB trade deadline is on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET.
On Wednesday, a flurry of blockbuster trades were made, with some even being finalized late into Wednesday night.
Just before midnight, the Seattle Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks agreed on a major trade that sent slugger Eugenio Suarez to Seattle, per ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Not only does Suarez return to Seattle, but the timing of it is also something.
The Mariners and Athletics game in Sacramento, California, had just ended, and the Diamondbacks had just landed in Sacramento ahead of their three-game series against the Athletics.
That means Suarez will go straight from one plane to another.
"On the Mariners postgame show just now, @AngieMentink reported that the #Dbacks had landed in Sacramento as the Mariners-A's game was ending. Eugenio Suarez will deboard the Dbacks plane and walk right on to the Mariners one to head to Seattle," Jake Garcia reported.

Eugenio Suarez will deboard the Dbacks plane and walk right on to the Mariners one to head to Seattle.
The Diamondbacks just played in Detroit on Wednesday and left for California, and the Mariners are now headed back to Seattle, where they will begin a three-game series against the Texas Rangers on Friday.
Suarez Returns to Seattle in a Weird TwistSuarez was with the Mariners in 2023 and 2024 before being traded to Arizona after the 2023 season.
This year, Suarez has 36 home runs with 87 RBI, and he made the National League All-Star team.
Now, he goes back to Seattle, and the Mariners also acquired Josh Naylor in a previous trade with the Diamondbacks, so the phones have been busy between these two front offices.
In short, Suarez and the Diamondbacks land in Seattle, but now the All-Star infielder heads right to Seattle with his new team.

Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield's Legendary Trainer Dead at 71
The boxing world is mourning the death of legendary boxing trainer Tommy Brooks.
Lou DiBella, a Hall of Fame boxing promoter, shared on social media that Brooks died Tuesday after battling a very aggressive cancer. Brooks was 71.
"Got more bad news a little while ago. It was just confirmed by his family that esteemed #boxing trainer Tommy Brooks died tonight, after having fought a very aggressive cancer," DiBella tweeted. "Too young. Great boxing man and even better person, he was just a solid dude. Shared many memorable nights with Tommy and his wife, Donna Duva, during the glory days of Main Events. My love and prayers to Donna and all their fam."
In a follow-up tweet, DiBella expressed that the tragic news was hitting him hard.
"This is now a real tough stretch of losing real #boxing people," he added. "It's getting to me."

Brooks was born in Little Rock, Arkansas but grew up in San Diego, California. He started boxing at 14 years old and went on to win the prestigious Southern California Golden Gloves and Las Vegas Regional Golden Gloves.
Brooks later joined the Air Force and won a middleweight belt there, too. He'd go on to defeat Michael Spinks in 1975 to become the nation's top amateur in the middleweight division. He'd go on to turn pro and win his first seven fights before ultimately deciding to retire and focus on training boxers.
Brooks' pedigree is one for the ages. He guided Holyfield's two wins over Tyson before ultimately partnering with Iron Mike. Those under Brooks' tutelage also included Pernell Whitaker and Vitali Klitschko.
Target Shoppers React to Disappointing Change for All Stores
It's safe to say that some Target shoppers are in mourning.
The retail giant on Monday did away with price matching competitors such as Walmart and Amazon. Target will now only price match other Target locations or Target.com.
In a statement to Retail Dive, a Target spokesperson noted that customers “overwhelmingly price match Target and not other retailers.”
“We’re always working to deliver consumers outstanding value and give them confidence to choose Target, with our everyday low prices, affordable and quality-focused owned brands, incredible deals, free-to-join membership program, Target Circle, and more,” the spokesperson told Retail Dive.
Suffice it to say, some Target shoppers are not happy.
One shopper posted a short video in which she just shakes her head while "Taps" plays in the background. She captioned the post, "it was good while it lasted 😭."
Another shopper filmed herself in the store when she learned about the new policy.
@forlizsakesJust found out Target stopped price matching Walmart and Amazon starting TODAY. July 28. I’m flabbergasted. Betrayed. Emotionally unwell. What’s a mama supposed to do without those savings?!

The TikToker, whose handle is @forlizsakes, was carrying a child while leaving the store. She was out of breath and "flabbergasted" about the new policy.
"I am just leaving target as you can see and starting today they’re no longer price matching Walmart and Amazon," she said. "I’m flabbergasted. Oh, my god."
The TikToker didn't get much sympathy. One person commented, "If you want the Walmart price, shop at Walmart."
Over on Reddit, shoppers had mixed reactions.
One commented, "And like that Target is going to die out. People already prefer to buy online and price matching was only reason to be okay in person."

Another wrote, "Walmart did the same a long time ago and it was easier on employees to keep from having to deal with people trying to price match fake ads or random 3rd party sellers."
But when someone suggested just buying the cheaper product at a store other than Target, someone else argued that it's easier said than done.
"I live in Manhattan. There isn’t a Walmart in Manhattan," the Redditor commented. "I can’t just pick up and go to New Jersey or Long Island every time I need deodorant that doesn’t cost $20. Price matching Walmart at target was very helpful for a lot of people."
Not anymore.
Tampa Hit 100 Degrees for the First Time in 135 Years and Here’s Why It Matters
Tampa hit a milestone no one was hoping for: On Sunday, the city reached 100 degrees Fahrenheit for the first time since record-keeping began in the 1890s. For 135 years, Tampa had remained one of the largest U.S. cities never to hit triple digits. That exclusive club—once shared with Anchorage, Buffalo and Honolulu—just got smaller.
“This is not our normal heat,” Steven Shiveley of the National Weather Service told the Tampa Bay Times, calling the record “historic.” The heat index reached a dangerous 120 degrees the following day, further compounding concerns, Scientific American reported.
Why It Happened NowTypically, Tampa is buffered from extreme heat by the Gulf Coast sea breeze, high humidity, and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. But on Sunday, those natural defenses were absent. A combination of dry air, an unusually warm start to the day at the airport, and lack of a sea breeze pushed temperatures over the edge.
And it wasn’t a one-off event. The National Weather Service warned that daily highs would remain in the mid-to-upper 90s through the week, with record-challenging temperatures expected Wednesday through Friday.
A Larger Pattern of Extreme HeatTampa’s heat wave is part of a broader pattern scorching much of the central and eastern U.S. This week alone, more than 160 million Americans were under heat alerts. The Earth just recorded its second-warmest January through June period in history, and scientists say climate-driven temperature extremes are becoming more common and more deadly.
Earlier this summer, a European heat wave was linked to over 2,300 deaths, 65 percent of which scientists attributed directly to climate change. Now, with Tampa's 135-year streak broken, the city becomes another data point in an escalating global trend.
The Warning Behind the RecordWhile Tampa may have crossed the 100-degree threshold later than many cities, its new record is no less alarming. The combination of rising baseline temperatures, urban development, and shifting weather patterns is reshaping what’s considered “normal” in American cities.
This isn’t just a fluke. It could be a sign of what’s to come.

James Andrew McGann Is the Suspect in the Devil's Den State Park Double Homicide
James Andrew McGann is the suspect in the Devil's Den State Park double homicide of two married hikers in Arkansas.
That's according to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, which announced McGann's arrest on July 30 in the murders of Clinton and Cristen Brink, who were murdered while hiking with their two daughters. The kids were unharmed physically.
"Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police (ASP) have arrested James Andrew McGann, 28, of Springdale, in connection to a double homicide that occurred on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Devil’s Den State Park," the department wrote.
McGann "was taken into custody at 4:57 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at a business in Springdale. He was charged with two counts of Capital Murder," the release says.
The victims were Clinton David Brink and his wife, Cristen Amanda BrinkClinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, "were fatally attacked while hiking with their two daughters. The girls, who are 7 and 9, were not injured and are safe with family members," says the release. The couple was found dead on a hiking trail on Saturday, July 26, police said.
The cause of death and motive were not released.
According to the Associated Press, the Brinks "had just moved from South Dakota to the small city of Prairie Grove in northwest Arkansas," where Clinton Brink was going to start working as a milk delivery driver.
The Brinks, who were from California, filled their Facebook pages with family photos.
A woman wrote on Facebook, "I just met Cristen Brink this past week in the ER. She was my nurse. She talked to me about her daughters, and I talked to her about mine. She gave me such relief, reassuring me that I was doing everything right and that everything was going to be okay, even though I was so sick and had nobody to help me. She held my baby — she didn’t put her down until I was ready to hold her again."
Police previously released an artist's sketch of the suspected killerPolice previously released a sketch of the suspect, as well as a picture of a man from behind.

Arkansas Department of Public Safety.
"The wanted man is described as a white male of medium build, last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt (with sleeves rolled up), dark pants, a dark baseball cap, and sunglasses. He was carrying a black backpack, wearing fingerless gloves, and may have sustained an injury during the attack," they wrote before the arrest.
"Witnesses observed him leaving the area in a black, four-door sedan — possibly a Mazda — with its license plate obscured by tape, traveling towards State Highway 170 or State Highway 220," they noted.
The governor said the arrest of James Andrew McGann provides comfort to the state“No news can heal the enormous harm done to the Brink family in last weekend’s crime, but this announcement is a comfort and reassurance for our State. I am so proud of the Arkansas State Police, Park Rangers, local law enforcement, and others who have worked nonstop since last weekend to capture this suspect," said Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders in the release.
"I ask that Arkansans lift up prayers of thanks for the brave men and women of law enforcement – and offer prayers of condolence to the victims of this horrific crime. Let there be no mistake – we do not tolerate violent crime in Arkansas. If you target innocent people, law enforcement will hunt you down and bring you to justice," she added.
ASP Col. Mike Hagar added, “I’m extremely grateful for the long hours and dedication that our Agents put forward in bringing justice to this family. The collaboration between State Police, other state and local law enforcement agencies, and our federal partners has been second to none. Because of their hard work and investigative skill, we were able to take a monster off the streets, and bring relief to those two precious girls, and the rest of our citizens.”

Brittney Griner Ejected for Contact With Official During Dream-Wings Showdown
Brittney Griner’s first season with the Atlanta Dream continues to be unpredictable. On Wednesday night, she was ejected in the third quarter after making contact with an official, but her team rallied to edge out the Dallas Wings 88–85 in Arlington, TX.
Griner Loses Her CoolThe incident unfolded after Griner was whistled for a foul while battling for a rebound with Dallas’ Haley Jones. Griner immediately offered support to Jones, steadying her and giving her a pat on the back. But moments later, she turned her frustration toward the official who made the call.
That confrontation quickly escalated. Griner was hit with a technical foul, then drew a second one after bumping the referee while continuing to argue. Officials wasted no time ejecting the 10-year WNBA veteran, who left the court with just four points and four rebounds.
It’s the latest twist in a season full of highs and lows for the eight-time All-Star. Griner is averaging a career-low 10.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in her debut year with Atlanta after spending more than a decade with the Phoenix Mercury.

At the time of Griner’s exit, the Dream led by just one. They extended that lead to eight early in the fourth quarter before the Wings stormed back with an 11–2 run. Atlanta went scoreless for nearly four minutes until Naz Hillmon sank a massive 3-pointer with under three seconds left to ice the game.

Hillmon was lights out off the bench, finishing with 21 points on 5-of-7 shooting from deep. Allisha Gray contributed across the board with 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
Wings Struggle to Find RhythmPaige Bueckers paced Dallas with 21 points and seven assists. Luisa Geiselsoder and Haley Jones added 13 and 12 points, respectively. But the Wings dropped to 8–20 on the season after losing their third out of four games.
The Dream, now 16–11, sits second in the Eastern Conference behind the New York Liberty. They'll face Griner’s former team, the Mercury, on Friday.
