'Frail' David Hasselhoff's Health Problems Land Him in Wheelchair

Actor David Hasselhoff is suffering from a major health concern as he was photographed in a wheelchair.

On May 7, 2025, Page Six reported that Hasselhoff, 72, was pushed in a wheelchair through the Los Angeles International Airport after returning from a trip to Cancun, Mexico.

“I’m having knee surgery next week," Hasselhoff informed photographers, according to Page Six, which also reported that the actor "limped" when he tried to walk with his wife, Hayley Roberts.

Us Weekly, which described Hasselhoff's appearance as "frail," reported that his spokesperson revealed: “He was seen in a wheelchair because he’s having a knee replacement surgery next week."

Hasselhoff has had a tough go of it lately. Pamela Bach, his ex-wife and the mother of his two daughters, took her own life in March 2025 at the age of 61, according to People.

According to The New York Post, the photos of Hasselhoff in a wheelchair "sparked concern."

The Post noted that Hasselhoff needed airport workers to push him in the wheelchair both when he left Cancun for Los Angeles on May 6 and when he arrived at the California airport.

The photos show Hasselhoff wearing a black baseball cap and jeans with a striped shirt.

According to The Post, Hasselhoff was in good spirits despite the health issues. He "flashed a smile and gave an encouraging thumbs-up to the cameras" before "grabbing hold" of his wife, 45, as he got out of the wheelchair, The Post reported.

Hasselhoff's spokesperson denied he was in dire straits to The Post, saying, “David is doing fine and actually he and [his] wife were returning from a great vacation in Cancun last week."

Carolyn Raskin, Veteran Producer for Frank Sinatra, Dies at 97

Carolyn Raskin, a veteran producer who worked on several iconic Frank Sinatra specials, has died. She was 97. Raskin’s nephew, Mark, shared the tragic news with The Hollywood Reporter. Raskin died last year, on Sept. 24, at her home in Los Angeles. Her family chose to keep her death private until earlier this week. A cause of death has not been specified.

In addition to her work on four of Sinatra’s most well-received television specials, Raskin produced the first four seasons of Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In. Laugh-In, which ran for six seasons between 1968–’74, was a hugely popular sketch series which served as a direct inspiration for Saturday Night Live. The series was also one of the first roles for eventual A-lister Goldie Hawn.

Raskin also had a lucrative professional relationship with singer and actor Dinah Shore, with whom Raskin worked on many projects, including NBC’s The Dinah Shore Chevy Show (1959–63). She also worked with Shore on the singer’s Laugh-In inflected special, Like Hep (1969), also for NBC; on her syndicated daytime talk show, Dinah! (1974–’80); and on her 1976 CBS series, Dinah and Her New Best Friends.

In addition to being named “Woman of the Year” by the Los Angeles Times in 1968 for her work in TV, Raskin was nominated for several Emmys throughout her career, including four for her work on Laugh-In. She won for the show’s second season in 1969, sharing the honor with Paul Keyes, Dan Rowan and Dick Martin. In 1976, she won a daytime Emmy for her work on Dinah!.

“You need three things in this business,” Raskin once said. “One is creative genius, then comes drive and maturation. I fit in the third category. My job is relating.”

Raskin never married or had children. She is survived by her three nephews — Mark, Barry, and Greg — and her niece, Denise.

Archaeologists Unearth Lost City Dating Back to 7th Century B.C.

Archaeologists working with a California university have unearthed the remains of a lost city in Macedonia, The New York Post reported.

The remarkable discovery was made by archaeologists with California’s State Polytechnic University of Humboldt who were working at Gradiste, an archaeological site located near the North Macedonia city of Crnobuki. Experts from the country’s Institute and Museum helped to advise on the dig. Experts believe that the lost city could be Lyncus, the lost capital of the ancient Kingdom of Lyncestis.

Related: Archaeologists Find Chilling Scene During Pompeii Excavation

“Every indication is pointing toward this being the city of Lyncus, within Lyncestis,” said Nick Angeloff, an archaeologist with Cal Poly. “Nothing is pointing away from it being Lyncus.” Angeloff called the discovery “very rare” and “a unique find.”

Lyncus was first settled in the 7th century B.C. after the kingdom itself was conquered by King Phillip II of Macedon in 358 B.C. It was the birthplace of Queen Eurydice I of Macedon, whose grandson was Alexander the Great.

“This is the only appropriate location that we have determined may be the ancient city of Lyncus, where Alexander the Great’s grandmother was born and raised,” Angeloff said. “Eurydice I was a very powerful woman in that time in human history. There’s only one city that she could have come from, and we may have found it. Without Eurydice, we don’t have Philip II, Alexander’s father, nor do we have Alexander the Great.”

Based upon the size of the fortress, Angeloff estimated that no more than 10,000 people lived in Lyncus at its peak. “It has become very clear, using technology, that the fortress [we found] was designed to hold an entire city,” he explained. “And we see the whole array of infrastructure required to hold a city inside fortress walls during an attack by Rome in particular in this case.”

Using LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology, Angeloff and his team “were able to overlay and see what was underneath the ground. And the acropolis that it sits on, which is basically a flat hilltop, has enough rooms and infrastructure to hold an entire city inside the fortress walls.”

Excavators unearthed a textile shop in addition to artifacts such as axes, game pieces, oil lamps, ceramic items, and a coin bearing Alexander the Great’s likeness. A theater ticket, which Angeloff specified is particularly rare in North Macedonia, was also recovered. “Typically, theater tickets [were] made of a metal, whether bronze or iron, but they’re always reused,” he explained. “There has never been a location in North Macedonia with a theater ticket that has been found that did not have a theater.”

Angeloff and his team have been emboldened by the unprecedented discovery of the lost city of Lyncus and hope that this is just the first in a long line of finds which would map out the history across the country. “The potential for archaeology across North Macedonia to inform our understanding of the classical [eras], as well as the Roman era, is highly significant,” he said. “There’s been relatively little work and relatively little investment into this region.”

Construction Workers Discover ‘Skeleton’ of Medieval Ship

Construction workers excavating the site of a former fish market in Spain made a breathtaking discovery in the form of a medieval wooden ship.

The Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) reported (via Euro News) that the ship was unearthed between April 10 and 15 in the Catalan capital at the site of what was formerly a fish market, making the ship’s final resting place a fitting one. The ship, named Ciutadella, dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries. The ICUB related the discovery to the city’s rich maritime history.

“Starting in 1439, with the construction of the first artificial docks, the dynamics of the coastline were altered, and the sandbar known as the Tasca, which had protected the city for centuries, disappeared,” a statement read. “The combination of coastal drift, the mouth of the Besòs River, and storms caused a rapid advance of the beach, covering ancient marine spaces.”

Unearthed from the ground was the ship’s complete “skeleton,” which measured 32 feet long and 10 feet wide and included about 30 still-intact wooden frames. “At least seven stakes of the hull” were also recovered, according to the statement. “The planks are nailed to the frames with circular-section wooden pegs, a type of wooden nail used to join the pieces,” the ICUB explained.

“Two longitudinal pieces – palmellars or saws – fixed with iron nails are also preserved,” the statement continued. “This system, known as skeleton construction, was common in the medieval Mediterranean and spread throughout Europe from the mid-15th century.”

The ICUB stipulated that the ship is “in a very fragile state of preservation” and noted that its survival in any form is nothing short of miraculous considering how rapidly wood is known to deteriorate. “Although wood is a common material in historical shipbuilding, it only preserves in very specific environments, such as aquatic ones, and deteriorates rapidly when exposed to air,” the ICUB said. “The waterlogged wood is extremely sensitive, and to prevent it from drying out and degrading, it has been partially covered with the original sand that surrounded it.”

The ICUB is now working with the Archaeology Service of Barcelona, “with advice from the Museum of Archaeology of Catalonia – Centre for Underwater Archaeology of Catalonia (CASC) – to ensure the proper documentation and preservation of the structure.”

Pedro Pascal Caused 'Stir' With Locals in Iceland

Actor Pedro Pascal caused a "stir" with locals when he showed up at an unexpected place.

The popular actor was in Iceland, and he turned up at a local cafe, according to Iceland Monitor.

The local news site published a photo showing Pascal in a green shirt sitting at a table and smiling while talking to a group of people.

It's not clear why the Narcos and The Last of Us actor was in Iceland.

On May 4, 2025, Iceland Monitor reported that Pascal "was seen having lunch at the café Kaffihús Vesturbæjar (Kaffi Vest) in Reykjavík’s Vesturbær neighborhood."

The publication noted that, although it was unclear whether he was there for work or a vacation, Pascal's appearance "has already caused a stir among locals."

The news that the actor was in Iceland hit several local news sites there.

According to Iceland Review, Pascal "appeared relaxed and low-key" in the photos that emerged of the outing, which occurred at "one of the city’s most popular neighbourhoods."

That site reported that Iceland is becoming popular with celebrities, noting that singer Justin Bieber was also recently in Iceland.

The photos led to fan speculation that they could be a clue that the next Avengers movie will film in Iceland, at least in part. But that has not been confirmed.

DV published a second photo of Pascal in Iceland, this one taken outside.

That photo shows Pascal in the same green shirt but with a black jacket and a big smile on his face as he stood on a sidewalk. Two people in the background look on.

According to that site, the actor was spotted on a "busy road," hanging out in the famed city. He then sat down at the cafe for a "snack," DV reported, adding that Pascal has become increasingly outspoken on public issues of late.

Why Tina Fey Lies to Her Kids About Old 'SNL' Sketches

Don’t expect Tina Fey to be forthright about her time on Saturday Night Live. Fey admitted during an interview with fellow SNL alum Will Forte on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she'll often lie to her children about sketches she had written.

After Forte shared one of his favorite pitches that didn’t make it to air, Fey reflected on all of her sketches that got national exposure. “I have the opposite thing, which is I have so many ones that aired that I wish had not,” she admitted.

When Clarkson pressed Fey for more details, the Baby Mama star revealed that she often disavows sketches she wrote when her children don’t approve of them. Fey shares two daughters, 19 and 13, with husband Jeff Richmond.

"On Peacock, they show old, random-ordered sketches from SNL on the SNL channel," Fey explained. "Sometimes ones have come up that my kids are like, 'What is this?' And I fully wrote it, and I'm like, 'I don't know. That's so stupid, right?'”

Fey has made no secret of the contributions her daughters make to her on-screen work. At the 2024 premiere of the Mean Girls musical, Fey revealed how they helped her update the classic comedy. "Sometimes I would run things by the kids," she said. "Like casting, or you know, like, 'Should the burn book stay a book, or should it be a private Instagram account?' And they're like, 'No, it's a book, it's a book.'"

You can check out Fey and Forte’s full appearance below.

Outraged Judge Slams Famous Lawyer at Sean Combs Trial

The federal judge presiding over music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs' human trafficking case is very unhappy with a famous lawyer.

According to Business Insider, the judge, Arun Subramanian, "sharply criticized" attorney Mark Geragos "in a closed-door meeting," labeling comments Geragos made on a TMZ podcast "outrageous."

Business Insider described Geragos as a member of Combs' family's "legal team."

According to Business Insider, the judge was upset by a comment Geragos made about the prosecution team. He referred to the state's lawyers as "a six-pack of white women," the publication reported. The prosecution team is entirely female, Business Insider reported.

Geragos defended himself to the judge, according to ABC 7.

"I think when you've got a Black man who's being prosecuted and the client feels like he's being targeted, it's a -- it's an observation," Geragos told the judge, according to ABC 7, which obtained a transcript.

"I think this is ridiculous," the judge responded, the television station reported. "I think referring to the prosecution in this case as a six-pack of white women is outrageous. All right. And I understand what you're saying about the cases and everything else, but I think this is outrageous and this would not be tolerated in any court from any lawyer anywhere across the nation."

The judge told Geragos to "exhibit some caution," reported ABC 7, which noted that Geragos's daughter Teny "is a primary member of the defense team."

"I got it," Geragos said.

Although Geragos was in court on May 5, when jury selection started in Combs' case, he "doesn't have clearance to participate, and frequently discusses the case on his podcast, 2 Angry Men," TMZ reported.

According to TMZ, prosecutors accused the defense lawyers of appearing to have consulted with Geragos in court. They also said, in a letter to the judge, that he has spoken about a video that will likely be used in the case.

Geragos is not officially a member of the defense, but prosecutors want the judge to bar him from making public comments on the high-profile case all the same, Rolling Stone reported.

Geragos has represented top celebrities and defendants in the past, including Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and the Menendez Brothers, Rolling Stone noted.

Sudden Change in Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Appearance Surprises Observers

The sudden change in Sean "Diddy" Combs' appearance has surprised observers of his New York trial.

The trial is not being televised and cameras are not allowed in the courtroom, but reporters have described Combs as looking very different from how the public remembers him. He has been in jail for months.

According to The Daily Beast, Combs has aged "markedly" following seven months in jail, with his "hair and goatee" now "going white."

The Daily Beast described Combs as looking like "the slightly pudgy uncle" of the man he used to be even just two years before, when he attended the Met Gala.

A courtroom sketch artist drew Combs in court on May 5 and 6 as a bespectacled man with graying hair and a goatee.

The trial started with two days of jury selection, which is ongoing. Combs "retained reasonably good posture, and remained alert and attentive," Daily Beast reported.

— The General (@GeneralMCNews) May 5, 2025

The New York Daily News also noted Combs' sudden change in appearance, reporting that the incarceration appears to have taken a "toll" on the music mogul, who now has a "full head of gray-white hair." This might be due to a lack of hair dye in jail, the publication noted.

Combs was clad in "a dark sweater and white button-down shirt," The Daily News reported.

On the first day of the trial, Combs admitted that he was nervous.

A lot is at stake for the rapper, whose white parties once drew top celebrities.

The federal indictment accuses Combs of having engaged in or attempting to engage in sex trafficking, obstructing justice, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, and bribery, the indictment says.

Justin Bieber Breaks His Silence After Hailey Attends Met Gala Without Him

Justin Bieber did not attend the Met Gala alongside his wife Hailey on Monday night, but he was still clearly supporting her from afar, and he expressed that support on social media on Wednesday.

While Hailey attended the Met Gala, stepping out at the event alongside her longtime friend and modeling colleague Kendall Jenner, Justin was not at the event. Instead, he apparently spent the day golfing and watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs play in the NHL's Stanley Cup Playoffs.

This was a change of pace for the superstar couple as they previously attended the event together.

But even though Bieber was not at the event himself, he still took to social media to hype up his wife.

In a post on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon, Justin sent a pretty clear message to Hailey as he expressed his admiration and attraction to his supermodel wife, sharing a few photos of her with a caption that read, "I see it I like it and I want it."

View the original article to see embedded media.

This comes just a few weeks after Justin shut down any and all speculation about his life or relationship with Hailey in lengthy post on his Instagram story where he called out the "lies" that have been spread about him and his wife.

"They treat me like [expletive] out here, but I remember that I am flawed and God forgave me," Justin wrote on his Instagram story on April 24. "It helps me to stop feeling better than those who are mean and hurtful because when I'm really honest, I can be mean and hurtful too."

"My instinct is to be like, 'Damn I wouldn't gossip and spread lies about someone on the internet,'" he continued, "But there's other [stuff] I do I'm not proud of."

"Honestly if I was u, it would be hard not to be jealous of me and Hailey going brazzzzyy," Bieber wrote. "It's really up for us and that's understandable why people can't stand it."

"It's really up for us and that's understandable why people can't stand it. I don't blame em. Hailey and I are the Jones's that are impossible to keep up with," he concluded.

The Biebers famously attended the 2021 Met Gala together. This time, however, Hailey went solo.

Potential Jurors in the Sean 'Diddy' Combs Trial Asked About Social Media

Sean "Diddy" Combs’ sweeping federal sex crimes trial is making daily headlines, but it’s one question posed to potential jurors that’s turning heads far beyond the courtroom: Have you ever posted about Diddy on social media?

As jury selection entered its second day on May 6, the usual battery of tough questions focused on jurors’ personal experiences with sexual assault, harassment, or domestic violence, USA Today reported. But buried in the list was a particularly modern inquiry: “Have you communicated to others, posted your opinion on social media or online, or 'liked' any social media posts about Mr. Combs? If so, when and where did you post or state your opinion?”

It’s a question tailor-made for today’s digital world—and one that underscores just how closely this case is intertwined with public opinion and viral media.

Related: Sean 'Diddy' Combs Judge Makes Decision as Trial Begins

The high-profile case, expected to stretch on for months, has kept lawyers busy vetting jurors one by one, with Judge Arun Subramanian aiming to find individuals capable of setting aside preconceived notions. While some potential jurors admitted to seeing the much-discussed video allegedly showing Combs assaulting his ex, Cassie Ventura Fine, others revealed their news habits spanned everywhere from The New York Times to YouTube.

The social media question stood out because it touches on a very real concern in cases involving celebrities: the line between passive consumption and active participation in public discourse. In an era when a single tweet or Instagram like can reveal bias, or at least open the door to claims of bias, it’s no surprise both the prosecution and defense want to know exactly how plugged-in their jurors are.

By the end of the day’s proceedings, 39 prospective jurors had been questioned, with 16 advancing to the next round. As the search for an impartial panel continues, the courtroom is not just grappling with potential jurors’ personal histories, but also their digital footprints.

In a trial where celebrity, crime, and the internet collide, even a “like” could make all the difference.
