CBS Gives Fans a Glimpse at Fall Series 'CIA'

CBS axed two FBI series this year, but there's a new show in the franchise that's headed to the network this fall.

The original title was FBI: CIA, but it's now been shortened to CIA — and star Tom Ellis teased the action TV viewers will see during the 2025-2026 season. In a teaser trailer released on YouTube on May 7, the British actor gave fans a 10-second glimpse of the upcoming CBS procedural.

"Hi, CBS, I'm Tom Ellis," he said. "I can't wait for you to seem my new show, CIA. Coming CBS fall." While he spoke, a quick glimpse of some already filmed scenes flashed on the screen — gunshots, shattered glass, and a SWAT team rushing by.

CIA's tagline is intriguing, "Two agents. One mission. Two methods." The logline described the plot, "When a fast-talking, rule-breaking CIA case officer (Tom Ellis) teams up with a by-the-book, seasoned FBI agent working out of CIA’s New York Station, they must learn to work together to investigate cases and criminals posing threats on U.S. soil, finding that their differences may actually be their strength." Ellis is the only announced cast member so far.

The series is a part of Dick Wolf's TV empire. The show creator and executive producer is already celebrating the pickup of his "One Chicago" universe as well as Law & Order and SVU on NBC.

CIA will be paired with Wolf's original series, FBI, on Monday nights. FBI earned the 9 p.m. timeslot with CIA following immediately after at 10 p.m. The premiere date has not been released yet.

Best 18 Fishing Lakes in the U.S. Are Named

A charter trip website has named the best 18 fishing lakes in the U.S.

Fishing Booker.com published the list on May 6, 2025.

The first lake to make the list was Florida's largest lake, Lake Okeechobee, the site reported.

"Its shallow, expansive waters are interlaced with wetlands, marshes, and coastal vegetation, creating an ideal breeding ground that has helped shape the lake into one of the finest Bass fishing destinations in the country," Fishing Booker wrote.

The other lakes to make the list are:

Lake Fork, TX; Lake St. Clair, MI; Clear Lake, CA; Lake of the Woods, MN; Guntersville Lake, AL; Chickamauga Lake, TN; Devil's Lake, ND; Lake Champlain, NY/VT; Table Rock Lake, MO; Lake Texoma, TX/OK; Toledo Bend Reservoir, TX/LO; Mille Lacs Lake, MN; Lake Tahoe, CA/NV; Sante Cooper Lakes, SC; Blue Mesa Reservoir, CO; Naknek Lake, AK; The Great Lakes.

"From sprawling lakes teeming with Walleye and Salmon to reservoirs full of trophy Bass and Crappie, America is home to some of the most exciting freshwater fishing in the world," the site wrote.

In 2022, Game & Fish compiled a list of the top 100 places to fish in the U.S. That list also included rivers, however. The top 10 were as follows. There were many commonalities with Fishing Booker's list.

1. St. Lawrence River (NY)2. Lake St. Clair (MI)3. Lake Erie (OH/PA/NY/MI)4. Red River (ND/MN)5. Santee Cooper (SC)6. Lake Guntersville (AL)7. Sam Rayburn Reservoir (TX)8. Clear Lake (CA)9. Lake Fork (TX)10. Lake Chickamauga (TN)

Grand Lake, CO, got the top spot in another list compiled by Take Me Fishing.org.

In 2021, Michigan State University determined that there are "479,950 lakes across the lower 48 states," at least according to their definition of a lake.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Trial Face a 'Challenge' in Jury Selection

Entertainment mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently on trial in New York as the former rapper and producer was indicted on federal charges of having engaged in or attempted to engage in sex trafficking, obstructing justice, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, and bribery. As the trial begins, however, it faces a pretty major problem.

In most cases, attorneys attempt to create a jury filled with unbiased individuals wh have know predispositions about the case. But as attorneys attempt to select a jury of his peers in this case, they face a pretty major problem in that regard.

As CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig points out, it will be almost impossible to find someone who does not have any predispositions about the case and does not already have an opinion of the defendant.

That puts the attorneys in a pretty unique position as they try to put together a jury.

“This is the rare case where you have to go into it assuming that every potential juror knows who the defendant is and knows something about the case and probably has some predisposition about the case,” Honig said in a recent interview. “And so the task of jury selection is to weed out people who simply cannot put aside what they already know and believe and can’t render a fair verdict.”

Honig pointed out that "there are people whose judgment can be clouded a bit either way."

For example, Honig suggested that the prosecution might attempt to remove any prospective juror who seems to idolize Combs or “has remained loyal to (him) as a fan” despite the allegations, and they also might look to remove someone who “displays some negativity towards the alleged victims and their motives.”

It's certainly not an ideal situation, but Honig is still confident in the process.

“There’s nothing that the courts haven’t dealt with before, but it’s a challenge,” Honig said.

Florida May Let People Hunt Bears for 1st Time in 10 Years

Florida may let people hunt bears for the first time in 10 years, although the plan was in the works before a man and his dog were killed by one.

According to First Coast News, The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission "is considering a bear hunt to take place this December." The Commission's website confirms that it is considering implementing bear hunting.

Robert Markel, 89, and his dog were killed by a black bear "in a rural area east of Naples," Florida, on May 6, 2025, according to WESH. After his death, officials killed three bears.

The last bear hunt in Florida was a decade before, First Coast News reported, adding that some people don't want it to happen. However, the Commission's website indicates that the possibility of a bear hunt was underway before Markel's death.

"It’s really a trophy hunt," Adam Sugalski of Jacksonville told the television station, which reported that he "founded a group called One Protest, aimed at combating injustice to animals."

Others support a bear hunt for population control, First Coast News reported.

The Commission has an entire web page devoted to the black bears in Florida.

"The black bear population has come back from just several hundred bears in the 1970s to over 4,000 today and is one of Florida’s most successful conservation efforts," the Commission wrote on the website.

"Regulated black bear hunting occurred in Florida in the 1930s and continued until 1994. Hunting was closed until 2015, when it was reopened in the fall. No bear hunting seasons have been open since 2015," the website says.

The FWC’s Bear Management Program "gave Commissioners a 5-year update on implementing the 2019 Florida Black Bear Management Plan at the December 2024 Commission meeting, highlighting recent bear management and research efforts. Following the presentation, the Commissioners directed staff to return to a future Commission meeting to propose options for implementing a potential bear hunt," the website says.

"The primary objectives of regulated hunting are to balance species population numbers with suitable habitat and to maintain a healthy population, as stated in the 2019 Bear Management Plan. Hunting provides people with recreational and economic benefits. A hunter can use the meat, pelt, fat, and other parts of any bear they harvest," the Commission added.

The last time there was a Florida bear hunt, "3,776 permits were sold, 99 percent (3,724) of which were obtained by Florida residents," the Commission wrote in a summary report.

U.S. Issues 'Level 3' Travel Warning For Caribbean Country

The United States has issued a travel warning asking its citizens to reconsider traveling to one particular country in the Caribbean as a result of crime and the threat of terrorism, and kidnapping.

On Wednesday, May 7, the United States Department of State issued a "Level 3" travel advisory for the nation of Trinidad and Tobago, warning citizens to "reconsider travel" to the country.

"Reconsider travel to Trinidad and Tobago due to serious risks from crime. There are also heightened risks of terrorism and kidnapping," the state department wrote in its advisory on Wednesday.

"Gang activity, such as narcotics trafficking, is common. A significant portion of violent crime is gang-related."

"Foreigners and a U.S. lawful permanent resident have been recent victims of kidnapping," the statement continued.

"There is risk of terrorist violence, including terrorist attacks and other activity in Trinidad and Tobago," the statement warned. "Terrorists may attack with little or no warning."

The United States Department of State has a thorough list of "Travel Advisories" that offers information about possible dangers of traveling to various countries. Those "travel warnings" are split into four categories, ranked level 1 through level 4 with the fourth category being the most severe.

A Level 1 travel advisory tells travelers to "Exercise Normal Precautions." It is issued for many popular tourist spots to remind travelers to remain cautious, even without any specific threats.

A Level 2 travel advisory, meanwhile, warns travelers to "Exercise Increased Caution." This level is typically issued to areas lacking immediate threats or dangers but where crime rates are high, civil unrest is present, or the region is frequently targeted by possible terrorist attacks.

A Level 3 travel advisory is a more serious concern, urging travelers to "Reconsider Travel" to nations that are considered inherently risky due to dangers such as crime, civil unrest, or terrorism.

A Level 4 travel advisory is the most severe alert for travelers, warning them to simply "Do Not Travel" to the destination. Such warnings are typically issued for countries embroiled in active armed conflicts, those hostile to the United States, or nations with minimal or no diplomatic ties to the United States.

Given that the Trinidad and Tobago advisory is a Level 3 advisory, it may not be the most severe, but it should certainly be treated seriously.

Josh Hartnett Praised for 'Deranged' Performance in 'Fight or Flight' Movie

Actor Josh Hartnett's performance in the new movie Fight or Flight is getting rave early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

One critic, Clint Worthington, even compared him to "Sully Sullenberger with a chainsaw," referring to the heroic airline pilot who landed a plane on the Hudson River, saving lives.

The plot is simple. According to IndieWire, "A Pajama-Clad Josh Hartnett fends off a plane full of assassins." The Trap actor plays a former Secret Service agent in a movie some critics have compared to the John Wick franchise.

Critic John Nugent, writing for Empire Online, lauded Hartnett for delivering an "enjoyably deranged performance."

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the film hits theaters on May 9, 2025, and it's already been scored positively by early critics, who have given it a 82% positive rating. The slightly lower rating appears to be because critics like Hartnett's performance better than the movie overall, although it's still a very positive rating.

"This may not be a major blockbuster, but it certainly feels as fun and frenetic as one. Fight or Flight is one of the best action films of 2025, and the start of a potential new franchise," Nicholas Brooks wrote on CBR, calling Hartnett the "must-see action hero of 2025."

The critics seemed pretty much in lockstep when it came to praising Hartnett's performance, and that includes those who consider the movie itself to be standard popcorn fare.

"I thoroughly recommend the film as a brainless romp on the basis of cool fight stuff and Hartnett lovability," wrote critic Noah Berlatsky of Splice Today.

"Fight or Flight is absurdist action violence, making it a top contender for the year’s best action movie. Josh Hartnett’s electric physicality and top-notch comedic timing make every moment he’s on screen a raucous joy," wrote reviewer Kate Sanchez on But Why Tho?.

Those who didn't love it also didn't blame it on Hartnett.

"Fight or Flight has Josh Hartnett and endless splattery fights on an enclosed mode of public transport, but that’s all it has," wrote Chloe Walker on AVClub.

Hartnett has re-emerged on Instagram to promote the movie.

A video post makes fun of his recent absence from social media. "Me promoting my film before ghosting social media for another 10 years," the caption on the video, which shows part of Hartnett's face, says.

Fan-Favorite Guacamole Doritos Are Returning After 20 Years

If you’re old enough to remember the joy of locating a bag of Guacamole Doritos in the grocery store snack aisle, then it’s time to get excited. Because the early aughts snack you loved is ready to find its way back into your heart—and belly.

Even more excitingly: Guacamole Doritos could already be available at a store near you.

According to Yahoo! Life, Doritos has kept the news pretty low-key. In late April, they posted a message to Instagram about the beloved snack food’s return. They teased their return with a meme about the recent resurgence of the dire wolf. Which basically said: we see your canine, and raise you one bag of avocado-flavored chips! The snack food brand captioned the image: “We know y’all been asking for this one. Available nationwide 4.28.”

That’s right, your favorite forgotten tortilla chips—or possibly new favorite if you’ve never tried them before—have already made their way back into major grocery stores nationwide, including Walmart. (If you can’t find them near you, they’re also available to purchase online at places like Amazon.)

A post shared by Doritos® (@doritos)

Doritos Guacamole were first introduced as a limited edition flavor in 2003, but quickly became a favorite flavor. So the brand kept them around a bit longer than expected—three years, in fact—and discontinued them for what was expected to be for good in 2006.

While the reviews from those who have managed to get their hands on a bag have been overwhelmingly positive, some tasters say that the chips seem to have a little less flavor than the last stab at guacamole. Whether or not that’s true, we’re just glad to see them back on shelves—for as long as Doritos wants to keep them there.

Justin Bieber Makes Statement About True Love

Justin Bieber has had quite a different life from most people. By age 15, he was one of the most famous pop stars on the entire planet and has since lived the vast majority of his life in the spotlight. And it sounds like it hasn't always been easy.

In a post to his Instagram story on Wednesday afternoon, Bieber shared some telling comments about what he has learned about "true love" over the years and how some well-intentioned comments in the past were actually unhelpful to him and made him feel "exhausted."

"People telling me I deserved things," Bieber wrote in a post on his Instagram story, "made me exhausted from trying to prove I was worthy at times."

"[It] also made me feel more entitled at times," he added.

"This language isn't helpful," Bieber wrote. "It either makes us feel not good enough or that we're owed something.

"True love is freely given with no expectation," he concluded.

Bieber has been rather candid in sharing his thoughts on social media lately. Just a few weeks ago, Bieber took to social media to call out the "gossip" and "lies" that have been spread about him by fans and media.

"They treat me like [expletive] out here, but I remember that I am flawed and God forgave me," Justin wrote on his Instagram story on April 24. "It helps me to stop feeling better than those who are mean and hurtful because when I'm really honest, I can be mean and hurtful too."

"My instinct is to be like, 'Damn I wouldn't gossip and spread lies about someone on the internet,'" he continued, "But there's other [stuff] I do I'm not proud of."

Bieber also shut down any and all speculation about his relationship with his wife, Hailey.

"Honestly if I was u, it would be hard not to be jealous of me and Hailey going brazzzzyy," Bieber wrote. "It's really up for us and that's understandable why people can't stand it."

"It's really up for us and that's understandable why people can't stand it. I don't blame em. Hailey and I are the Jones's that are impossible to keep up with," he concluded.

While Hailey attended Monday night's Met Gala, Justin was not in attendance as he played golf and watched the Toronto Maple Leafs game instead. However, he was still sure to show his support for Hailey on social media.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Prosecutors Say Key Witness May Not Appear

Prosecutors trying music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs are facing a possible major blow in the high-profile case.

One of Combs's key accusers may not show up for court to testify against Combs.

According to The New York Post, the woman was "set to testify" that Combs had "coerced her into sexual acts," but prosecutors told the judge during jury selection that they have been having a hard time contacting the accuser "or her lawyer," revealing that the unnamed attorney "has been dealing with undisclosed 'personal issues."

The woman is only one of the accusers against Combs, however. She is identified in the federal indictment against the rapper as Victim-3, The Post reported.

“We do not know whether she intends to appear, and we are trying very hard to find out because we are having trouble communicating with her counsel,” prosecutor Maurene Comey said on May 7, 2025, The Post reported. According to The Post, three other women are still set to testify against Combs, although two of them will do so by pseudonyms.

The accuser in question “does not live locally” and “may not show up, even if we try to enforce the subpoena and want to call her," the prosecutor told the judge, according to The Post.

The accuser has not been named publicly.

In 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice issued an indictment against Combs, saying that, "between 2008 and the present, Combs abused, threatened, and coerced women and others, and led a racketeering conspiracy that engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice, among other crimes."

Combs has denied the accusations. The first week of his trial has been dominated by jury selection.

Actor Nick Offerman Explains Why He Fell 'in Love With' Tom Cruise

The Last of Us actor Nick Offerman has explained why he fell "in love with" Tom Cruise on a movie set, although he meant it as an expression of admiration for the actor's charisma and work ethic.

The Parks and Recreation actor is starring alongside Cruise in the acting legend's latest Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning movie.

“His wrists are bound, and he would come in every day and set up and do this like three-page monologue to the president, Angela Bassett, and her cabinet, of which I was a member and he would make this appeal to us and explain the situation, and by the end of the first day, I went home and said to my wife, Megan, ‘I’m in love with Tom Cruise,’” Offerman told Jimmy Kimmel on May 6, 2025.

Kimmel started laughing at first, but then joined in the praise for Cruise.

Offerman is married to actress Megan Mullaly.

“It was like I was going to a college class of Charisma 101, Protagonist Doctorate Degree,” Offerman said to Kimmel. “I mean, by the time he finished shooting that scene, I was like, 'F*** the movie, ‘I will take a bullet for you. Tom, like, put me on your security.’”

Offermann joked that he likes to call Cruise "Tom Cat."

"I think it's just his work ethic. He's so passionate. Every scene he's either scrutinizing... this scene is really intense," he said.

"That amount of focus, and then sometimes he brings it to bear on you. He will focus in on you like they say the greatest politicians do. And you're just like, 'Wow,'" Offerman said.

"That's his superpower," added Offerman.

"He is relentlessly friendly," Kimmel said, adding that his own dad cornered Cruise for about an hour once.

Offerman said Cruise once talked at length at a party to Offerman and his wife.
