Bryan Kohberger Searched Ted Bundy Online, 'Dateline' Says
The NBC program Dateline has revealed new details about the infamous Idaho murders of four college students in an off-campus residence.
In 2022, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves, and Madison Mogen were found deceased inside the Moscow, Idaho, home where the latter three lived off-campus. Bryan Kohberger, a former graduate student in criminology, is accused of the murders and is fighting the charges in court, pleading not guilty to them.
In a press release, Dateline NBC revealed that the program had obtained "new footage" and details in the Idaho murders case, including a video that shows a car "resembling Bryan Kohberger's driving around the time of the murders.
According to the release, "Phone data from Kohberger’s phone and in the possession of law enforcement include internet searches in the weeks before and after the killings on serial killer Ted Bundy and searches for pornography with the words 'forced,' 'passed out,' 'drugged,' and 'sleeping.'"
The special aired on May 9, 2025.
According to E Online, which described the new details as "shocking," it's now believed that Chapin was "the last of the four to be targeted by the killer," and was likely asleep in bed when the killer "carved the victim's lower legs with a blade." First, though, the killer stabbed Kernodle to death, E Online reported, noting that she was "still awake after ordering food from DoorDash." That site reported that Mogen might have been the killer's initial target because she was killed first, and Goncalves happened to be next to her.
In the early hours of Nov. 13, 2022, "when four University of Idaho students would be stabbed to death in an off-campus house as some of them slept, a neighbor’s home security video captured the same white car circling the block multiple times," the show wrote in the release. "The vehicle approached the house again and again before speeding away 13 minutes later."
According to Dateline, "The previously unseen footage obtained by Dateline offers another angle into the turbulent events at the time prosecutors believe the students were murdered."
Photos and digital materials "are included in a two-hour special airing Friday, tracing suspect Bryan Kohberger’s movements and online habits before and after the killings that stunned the small community of Moscow, Idaho," the release notes.
Investigators "referred to a white Hyundai Elantra, believed to be from 2011 to 2013, as a critical clue as they solicited the public’s help in finding a suspect," the program added. Kohberger "drove a white 2015 Elantra," the release says.
Cellphone tower data and phone records obtained by Dateline "indicate that an FBI cellphone expert said Kohberger’s phone connected to a cell tower providing coverage within 100 meters of the rental house at 1122 King Road. It connected 23 visits over a four-month period, all after dark. One visit was just six days before the killings," the release adds.
Kohberger’s lawyers "have said in court filings that Kohberger would take drives alone late at night, often hiking or stargazing, and contend cellphone data shows he was not near the crime scene when the killings occurred," Dateline added.
In addition, Dateline revealed that "a former female graduate student" told the program that Kohberger texted her about hiking, writing, in part, “I really enjoy that activity so please let me know.”
“The wording of the text, as I look back on it, is kind of peculiar,” the woman said to the show. “It was almost overly formal.”
Keith Morrison said in a preview released by Dateline, "For the last two and a half years, Dateline has been on the ground - reporting gathering, and learning from people with direct knowledge of the case. We have obtained things that have never before been seen publicly. Like these security videos from a camera on a house near the murder scene. Videos that show a white sedan, a car that investigators believe was driven by Bryan Kohberger, making repeated passes of the King Road house that night before the murders."

'Sinners' Ryan Coogler Says He and Michael B. Jordan Are Like MJ and Scottie Pippen
As the weeks roll on, the Ryan Coogler-directed film Sinners continues to impress at the box office. After an impressive first three weeks following its release on April 17, 2025, the movie cleared $200 million at the domestic box office on Friday, according to World of Reel.
Equally as impressive, during its fourth week in theatres, Sinners checks in with a projection between $26 and $28 million, as the same report cites. That number could rival Thunderbolts* for the top spot this week, which World of Reel currently projects for $30 million in its second weekend.
Regardless of where Sinners finishes the week, the popular film that boasts a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes is primed to continue its stellar stretch.

As the film starring Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Miles Caton and the rest of the impressive cast makes its case as one of the best movies of 2025, Coogler had high praise for Jordan, who plays the role of both Smoke and Stack in the film.
While speaking on the Ball is Life podcast, Coogler compared himself and Jordan to the former Chicago Bulls iconic duo of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, as Discussing Film detailed.
“We're like Mike [Jordan] and [Scottie] Pippen...We just kinda know what the other one needs...we've got a rhythm," Coogler said of Jordan. "...We've become friends and a part of each other's lives, and we know what's important outside of filmmaking."
Coogler's use of the comparison to explain how well he and Jordan connect is not at all surprising, especially considering the duo's success even beyond Sinners. Coogler has directed several films that feature Jordan, including multiple in which he plays the lead role, such as Fruitvale Station (2013) and Creed (2015).
The duo also worked together on Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), while Coogler was an executive producer on Creed II (2018) and a producer on Creed III (2023).

Nayeli Clemente, 24, Dies After Collapsing in 96-Degree Endurance Run
Nayeli Clemente, a 24-year-old athlete and physical therapist, died on May 2 after collapsing during a high-intensity endurance event in 96-degree heat in San Andrés Cholula, Mexico. The event, known as the “Team Pyramid Run,” was part of the Cholula Games, a competitive fitness challenge pushing athletes to run increasingly longer distances.
Organizers confirmed her passing in a statement to the Daily Mail on May 9. “She was treated by the event's medical team and transported alive to a private hospital, where she sadly died the following day,” the Cholula Games said. Her brother later shared that Nayeli suffered a sudden stroke, E! News reported.
Clemente was more than just a competitor. She was a devoted physical therapist who loved nature and community. Her brother, Kevin Armando Hernández, described her as “a strong woman, an athlete, and a nature lover,” passionate about helping others heal.

Though the event wasn’t sponsored by CrossFit, Clemente was a regular presence in that space and had spoken openly about the toll these extreme competitions can take. In a May 2024 Instagram post, she reflected on a prior endurance event, admitting she ignored warning signs from her body. “There were physical and emotional signs I didn't want to see and pushed aside because I wanted to conquer the world in one day,” she wrote. “I don’t consider it the most responsible decision, but it showed me how brave, persevering, and strong I am.”

CrossFit acknowledged her passing in a statement, saying, “Our hearts go out to Nayeli’s family and friends, and especially her CrossFit teammates and community.”
Clemente’s death has sparked broader conversations around athlete safety, heat protocols, and the growing intensity of fitness competitions. Her legacy will be remembered not just for her physical strength, but for the courage she showed on and off the course.
Flau’jae Johnson Blends Basketball and Hip-Hop With Caitlin Clark Shoutout
Flau’jae Johnson isn’t just torching defenders on the basketball court—she’s also setting fire to the mic. The LSU standout guard, who helped lead the Tigers to a national championship in 2023, continues to make waves in the music world with her latest song, which features a slick nod to none other than Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.
In a TikTok video posted May 9, Johnson delivered the bar: “Double-C on my jacket like Caitlin Clark,” blending a nod to Chanel’s iconic interlocking-C logo with a clever reference to Clark’s initials. The lyric landed with fans of both hip-hop and women’s basketball, especially after Johnson’s past verses have name-dropped stars like Angel Reese and NFL quarterback Joe Burrow.

Clark and Johnson faced off multiple times during their collegiate careers, and the respect between the two elite guards runs deep. In a March interview with Complex, Johnson praised Clark’s game, calling her the best passer she’s ever played against. “She was able to just facilitate,” Johnson said. “She’s definitely the hardest opponent I’ve ever had to play.”
The song marks another moment in Flau’jae’s growing music career, which already includes a collaboration with rap legend Lil Wayne. Balancing NCAA hoops and a recording career isn’t easy, but Johnson’s ability to dominate in both arenas is turning heads.

As for Clark, she’s currently adjusting to life in the WNBA after being named the 2024 Rookie of the Year. Whether or not she’ll be bumping Johnson’s track before tip-off this season remains to be seen, but the bar alone is proof that women’s basketball stars are shaping culture far beyond the hardwood.
Congressman Jim McGovern's Daughter 'Died Suddenly' at 23
Molly McGovern, the 23-year-old daughter of Massachusetts Congressman Jim McGovern, died suddenly on April 23 while vacationing with friends in Assisi, Italy. According to The Boston Globe, Molly had been dining with friends when she became nauseous, and within minutes, she was gone.
Her death came as a devastating shock to family, friends, and those who knew her as a bright, passionate student with a global vision. A political science and international affairs student at Northeastern University, Molly had already left a mark on Capitol Hill and beyond.
Molly was remembered during her May 3 funeral at St. Bernard’s Church in Worcester, Massachusetts, not just as a congressman’s daughter, but as a compassionate and curious young woman who lived fully despite being diagnosed with a rare cancer at 18.

“She had a great 23 years, but who would have thought the last five years would be the best,” her mother, Lisa McGovern, said in her emotional eulogy. “There were little miracles everywhere.”
Molly’s life was filled with travel and meaningful connections. She had explored far-flung places like Tasmania and Rome, and she had formed bonds with political figures including Nancy Pelosi and her family. On the day of her death, Molly had been texting with Pelosi, discussing the former speaker’s upcoming trip to Italy for Pope Francis’s funeral.
As a child, Molly once told a priest she wanted to become a cardinal. She immediately questioned why women couldn’t become cardinals. That sharp mix of ambition and challenging the status quo defined much of her outlook.
“She wore a St. Francis medallion every day,” Lisa shared. That necklace, a symbol of peace and service, now echoes her daughter’s spirit—a life cut short, but lived meaningfully.
Caitlin Clark Supported the Indiana Pacers in Style
Just last weekend Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever dominated Brazil's national team in a friendly competition at her former stomping grounds: Iowa's Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
During the 108-44 victory, her father, Brent, made headlines when he made it abundantly clear he wasn't pleased with WNBA officiating during her rookie season, though he seemed to be pleased with it in the 64-point blowout.
"Well, I think there's a lot of room for improvement there, I think particularly in the officiating. I've kind of noticed a little bit of a difference [on Sunday], it looks like they're really officiating the game like it should be officiated," he said plainly. "If you make the game more fluid, people are going to like the product even more than it is right now."
After taking nearly a week off, Clark and the Fever will be back on the court Saturday, May 10 against the Atlanta Dream in the final preseason game for both teams. Ahead of the contest Indiana was en route to Atlanta when a host of its players were spotted cheering on the city's NBA team, the Indiana Pacers, with "Boom Baby" shirts, an exclamation coined by late Pacers coach and radio commentator Bobby “Slick” Leonard.
Clark was front and center, wearing the shirt while others just flashed it for the camera.

Fans loved the fit, but are slightly worried she won't be in the building for the game.
"Sophie and Lexie just having fun…Syd with the full commitment and Caitlin being Caitlin. Great video! Go Pacers, or as Caitlin calls it…go paceshow," one fan said.
"Oh no! Caitlin not in the building..." added another.
"Caitlin was so childlike in that video. Love it," offered a third.
The Pacers stunned the heavily-favored Cleveland Cavaliers in the first two games of the season, but trail by more than 20 heading into halftime of Game 3.

Authorities Make Ruling on Tragic Accident Involving John Elway
Authorities have issued a ruling on the death of Jeff Sperbeck, John Elway's longtime friend and agent, who passed away in a tragic golf cart accident late last month.
According to the Riverside (Calif.) County Coroner's Bureau, Sperbeck, 62, died of "accidental blunt head trauma" after falling off a golf cart driven by Elway on the night of April 26. The two were part of a group returning from a function at the Madison Club in La Quinta, according to a report from 9News.
Sperbeck was riding on the back of the cart when he fell off, striking his head on the pavement. The group immediately called 9-1-1, but emergency and hospital personnel were unable to save Sperbeck, who was put on life support until his organs could be harvested for donation.
The incident was investigated, and the Riverside County Sheriff's Office concluded there was "nothing to indicate that this is anything more than a tragic accident.”
"There was no swerving or horseplay, according to sources. No one was drunk, according to multiple sources. The cart didn’t hit anything. It had been a smooth ride," 9 News' Mike Klis wrote.

In addition to representing Elway since 1990, along with a host of other big-name NFL players, Sperbeck co-founded 7Cellars Winery in 2015 with the Hall of Fame quarterback.
“I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the passing of my close friend, business partner and agent Jeff Sperbeck," Elway said following Sperbeck's death.
"There are no words to truly express the profound sadness I feel with the sudden loss of someone who has meant so much to me. My heart and deepest sympathies go out to Jeff’s wife, Cori; his children Carly, Sam and Jackson; and everyone who knew and loved him.
"Jeff will be deeply missed for the loyalty, wisdom, friendship and love he brought into my life and the lives of so many others.”

Elway released an emotional statement hours after his friend's passing.

Ferrero Announces New Nutella Flavor
On Friday, May 9, Ferrero North America announced a "slate of new innovations for the next twelve months at Sweets & Snacks Expo 2025."
Among the major announcements from the company were Ferrero Rocher adding chocolate squares, repurposing the shape of its iconic candy. The company also confirmed what many thought to be an April Fools' Day joke of the partnership between TicTac and Dr. Pepper for a new flavor.
Perhaps the most notable announcement, though, came from its Nutella brand. Ferrero revealed it's adding a new flavor for the first time in more than 60 years: Nutella Peanut.
"Nutella's first taste innovation in more than 60 years, this latest addition to the Nutella portfolio is the best of both worlds. It combines the distinctive creaminess of Nutella cocoa hazelnut spread with the delicious taste of roasted peanuts," the company said in its announcement.
The new product is set to hit shelves in spring 2026.
"Our momentum here has never been stronger," Michael Lindsey, President and Chief Business Officer of Ferrero North America said in a statement. "Developing Nutella and Ferrero Rocher products specifically for the North American market represents a defining moment in our company's history. These innovations will engage both loyal fans and new consumers, boosting our power brands and further solidifying our position as a category leader in North America."
Ferrero wasn't quite done yet, though. The company also announced a new Butterfinger flavor, marshmallow, following the success of its salted caramel flavor, hitting shelves in September 2025.
Ferrero also announced a new Crunch bar flavor, white chocolate, coming to the market for Halloween - only for a limited time.

Netflix is Removing 'Black Mirror: Bandersnatch' on Monday
Back in 2018, Netflix released Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, an interactive film in the science fiction anthology series Black Mirror that gave viewers a chance to help the story progress in a sort of choose-your-own-adventure format. However, subscribers will only have a few more days to experience it.
Bandersnatch was not the first time that Netflix launched an interactive film, but it was easily the most iconic, given the popularity of the Black Mirror series. The streaming service did not confirm the interactive element to the film until its release, providing a bit of a surprise to fans.
The interactive experience allowed fans to make decisions that impacted the way the story played out.
However, while it was undeniably popular, especially at the time of its release, it seems like Netflix has decided that it will no longer host Bandersnatch in its library.
According to What's on Netflix, the streaming service has decided to pull the iconic interactive from its library effective Monday, May 12, giving fans just a few more days to experience it.
In addition to Bandersnatch, Netflix will also be pulling Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend – another one of its interactive specials.
While fans might be disappointed, Jay Peters of The Verge points out that the decision should not necessarily be all that surprising, considering Netlix decided to remove all but four of its interactive specials from its library last year.
“The technology served its purpose, but is now limiting as we focus on technological efforts in other areas,” spokesperson Chrissy Kelleher told The Verge ahead of those removals last year.
So if you want to experience Bandersnatch again, you have a very limited time to do it.
