In Need of The Blue Pill!
Was tracking my Amazon sales again this morning (noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!) and came to the realization that buying has really tapered off for Corruptor. While I'm still selling my paper copies I currently have (yes!), online sales have pretty much dried up. That is sad. That makes monkey cry. I think I'm going to have to give you the sob story again.
That didn't move you? Well, damn. Then I shall do the next best thing. I'm going to be mean.
The publisher will not contract...

The Writer/Agent Conundrum
You have to wonder about literary agents sometimes…
I, for one, am thankful for all the agents who do a lot of hard work pitching their clients novels out to various publishers. They get as many, if not more, rejection notifications than the actual writer does. Plus, they have to deal with the pressure from both sides: an anxious author and an exasperated publisher.
That being said, it does make me a little uncomfortable when I visit an agent's website and I see them touting their own writing a...

More Awards
Okay, so Preditors & Editors (yes, it's spelled wrong on purpose) is having their yearly reader's poll for all sorts of novels. "Best SF", "Best Thriller", and "Best Romance" are just a few of the titles you can nominate a book for.
Yes, you heard me correctly. You can nominate and vote for a book. Why is this important? Because I'm not competing against Larry freakin' Correia in Best SF this year! Go me! Larry, for what it's worth, is in Urban Fantasy. At least, he should be.

I Hear Voices, Do You?
Had a great time with some friends who came over for dinner (we ended up grazing, not really "mealing") and I started to compare notes with another author in the group, Julie Cochrane. Julie, if you don't know who she is, coauthored the Cally's War trilogy with John Ringo. She's very smart and has a lot of salient points that I always seem to miss.
We were talking about the author's voice when she mentioned that some writers don't know how to write in a distinctive voice. I wasn't sure what...

Braaaaaains…
Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains…
I am completely fried this morning. For some reason (*coughcoughStayedUpPastBedtimecoughcough*) I am completely drained. So I thought instead that I would leave you with this.
'cuz you know I'm never going to give you up…
Edit: damned WordPress is making me work when my brain isn't working… all I want to do is RickRoll people, damn it. Epic fail…

Two Notes…. Get It?
1 — Don't forget, Corruptor is still available for sale through Amazon, B&N and directly from Twilight Times Books. The ebook is much cheaper at Fictionwise, where I just happen to have the #21 SF book. It's not too late.
2 — SFWA member and eligible to nominate? Well, I'm eligible for both the John W Campbell award and the Hugo for Best Novel. Just saying…

Vote For Me
Well holy crapdoodle, I'm eligible for the Hugo Award.
Not like I'd win, competing against giants in the field, but I thought I'd mention it to those who are eligible to nominate. These are the awards I'm eligible for:
Best Novel – Corruptor
I am also eligible for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Author. This is the one I want, though getting best novel would be akin to Jamaica winning the bobsled gold in the Olympics: awesome but as likely to happen as a snowstorm in Hell. I mean, I...

SLACKER
I'm such a slacker today, I got sucked into a new webcomic and wasted my entire morning catching up with Weregeek.
*grumble* I was going to edit this afternoon but instead, I'll be trying to write. Damn that comic for being so fun!!!
Since I've talked about it and you're thinking of it, you might as well go check it out. Just don't blame me when you get nothing done for the next few hours, minimum. That comic should come with a warning label…

Another Take On The Publishing World
The wonderful Sarah A. Hoyt takes a look at the publishing industry today. She explains it much better than I ever could regarding supply and demand.
You know, for a woman who grew up speaking Portuguese, her English is far better than mine…
Go read.
