Amy Mah finds a YA Urban Fantasy Niche to Die For!

Amy Mah finds a YA Urban Fantasy Niche to Die For!
Posted in Author Interviews with tags Amy MahAuthor InterviewDeborah Riley-MagnusFangs RuleVampire on July 21, 2011 by Deborah Riley-Magnus
I thought I’d start out with some fun … time to have an interview with a vampire! Amy Mah is a new and very funny YA Urban Fantasy author who blogs and writes about her life as a modern young vampire trying to deal with both humans and fellow vampires. She’s been transformed into a manga character – real photos were changed into the wonderful images you will see in her books which are all fully illustrated showing the readers what the vampire world and characters look like.

Let’s take a look into Fangs Rule: A Girl’s Guide to Being a Vampireand it’s rather unique author, Amy Mah.

VAMPIRE EXPLORED: First of all, I’d like to welcome you to Vampire Explored. By luck of the draw, you’re my first interview, so I’ll try to be gentle.  Tell us a little about yourself. What part of the world do you live in? Tell us about your background?

MS. MAH: Hi and thanks. No need to be gentle just ask away, people don’t upset me. I am very forgiving with the human race. it is like getting upset with a sandwich! The book is me and my life, with just one or two changes of name so that people do not try and stake me in the night.

I was born in SE Asia and so people always think by my color I am Chinese or Japanese but only in the same way if you are blond then you must be a Viking. By nature I am cynical and sarcastic, my parents died when I was young and I moved between Aunts so had one heck of a strange childhood – with some very, very loving (and slightly mad)  Aunts. I am super bright and not modest … yes it is true I know it may come as a shock but I really am not modest, and with my personality and education I would be best suited as an Assassin or starting a Religious war. The 3rd choice is as an author but if you do not buy my books then do not blame me if the first time you meet me is when you are on a hit list.

As I said my book character is me, same name, same life, same problems, just sharper teeth. So I will now talk to you as Amy MahVampire – Hi my name is Amy, and I am a vampire. For those who do not know me, I should point out that I used to be a feral vamp, living in the outside world raised by humans until I was discovered and adopted into Vampire society.

In the human world, life was very difficult for me. I knew I needed blood but did not know how to get it, all I had was human books and films telling all kinds of stuff that was useless, like I can change into a bat, and that is so not true! I tried it and all it does is make you look stupid as you flap your arms up and down. And it’s the sort of thing that follows you about like a bad smell as you struggle to survive in a place where every day could be your last because you face the living hell humans call High School!

I had hoped life would be better once I was taken into vampire society. Well, being a vampire sounds like it should be a cool thing to be, sleeping during the day and enjoying a night life with friends. Huh, but no one warned me of the rules and that it also means having to suffer Teenage hormones for like forever or until my new vampire family would let me grow up!

Being a vampire is not so much fun and some of the rules are just crazy – like being told I have to walk about wearing a see through nightdress with no underwear, and believe me with my bust size that is so not going to happen, I have a hard enough time as it is trying to get a boyfriend without showing him what I don’t have!

To fill in the time between discovering where best to bite someone, to being able to climb a wall with just my finger nails and at the same time snarling at the guys below who are trying to look up my nightdress, I decided to write a self help guide for other teenage vampire girls. I have called it Fangs Rule and it is written in an easy to follow A – Z format explaining everything a teenage vampire girl would need to know about living life as a modern vampire.

VE: What attracts you to the urban fantasy genre, and what made you want to write it?

MS. MAH: I just love horror films they are so funny and what they say in them … hehehehe … “the best way to kill it is to remove its head!”  Duh, like that would not kill most things. I wanted to write to show why these films are so funny when looked at from a vampire’s point of view. And if you are a vampire in the world of humans the first thing you will do is watch all the vampire movies that humans produce. The vampires are the ones laughing in the back row every time a vampire gets killed by his lunch! And vampires do not hate humans. Duh! After all they are just a prepacked lunch on legs.

VE: Does the way you personally look at life reflect in your writing style?

MS. MAH: Yes. The world is sooooooooooooo, soooooooooooo very funny which is why I blog. First it gets it out of my system and then people love reading my blogs which is always a turn on for any writer! Wow I even get hate mail ! Its true! That is like so cool, I can upset someone so much that they have to send me hate mail.

VE: What concept or situation about your book makes it so unique?

MS. MAH: I do not think anyone has done it the way I have. I have personally stepped into the vampire world and taken a look around.Fangs Rule is only a taste of what is to come. My full novel is coming out next year and I have given the vampire world rules reasons and explanations. If things happen, why do they happen? There must always be a reason, it may be hidden but it has to be there.

VE: Tell us about Fangs Rule. Is it YA? I thought your book videoreally rocked. It caught my attention. What was your inspiration for this book?

MS. MAH: I did not write it as YA, it just came out that way. It is written at different levels, adults should see the adult humor and some parts are in teen speak, so adults will miss what is really being said but a teen will know far more than what adults think they know.

The bits I like are the funny but true little comments I sneak in: “Sleeping with another girl does not always mean you are a lesbian, sometimes it just means the central heating needs fixing.”

VE: What is your favorite scene from the book and why?

MS. MAH: The bits that remind me of my childhood. In my full novel you will hear all about how one of my Aunts liked to sleep on the roof. TRUE! She still does, says it is nice and cool in the summer. I live in fear of seeing her on a Google street map as I zoom down to see her house. She is in my novel along with my other Aunt that has taught me the habit of showering and changing undies at least 3 times a day. She would never sleep on a roof unless it was scrubbed first, but apart from lots of love, she has given me such lovely quotes to put in my books.

“Amy! Go clean your teeth! No one likes to be bitten by someone with dirty fangs” AND … “Amy! Sit correctly, you are wearing a dress. Feet on the floor and your knees together girl.  You are trying to catch a husband, not flies!”

VE: Have you written other books?

MS. MAH: No Fangs Rule: A Girl’s Guide to Being a Vampire is my very first book, but I have a novel almost finished, and they will link together.

VE: Finally, if you could tell us one thing about your genre that makes your mind spin with ideas, what would that be?

MS. MAH: Well it is so easy to do! I just start typing and can’t stop. Only one problem … I think faster than I can type and I type faster than I can spell.

Waking Up Naked in a Strange Bed with a Hangover and No Memory of How You Got There

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2012

Sexy Cedric: Amy Mah Vampire on Waking Up Naked in a Strange Bed with a Hangover and No Memory of How You Got There

Amy Mah

Welcome, my darlings, to another Sexy Saturday with Cedric!  Halloween is coming and I have a treat for you.  (No, not that, I'm far too expensive.) Today, my guest is the always delicious Amy Mah.  She writes about a problem that your host has dealt with on countless occasions:  What to do when you wake up naked in a strange bed with no idea how you got there?

Waking up Naked in a strange bed with a Hangover and no memory of how you got there.

Bed and sleeping with people is always a problem and as I always say Sleeping with another girl does not always mean you are a lesbian sometimes it just means the central heating needs fixing.

So back to waking up naked in strange bed with a hangover and no memory of how you got there, every drinking girl's nightmare, along with the worry of where you left your clothes.

So you slowly open your eyes and painfully look around a strange room which from the décor shouts rather too loudly of cheap motel …….and the way your head feel it says it far too laud even if it whispered it.

A cheap nylon sheet is covering you …….er ………..and that is all you have covering you ………. A fur coat would have been nice …….shut up …….you don’t mind who I kill and eat but you object to me liking fur ….huh………….you humans are so odd if I said a human corpse covering you would not have cared !!!

Is it all that is covering you …er…yes you check twice and a single piece of coloured cord around ones wrist does not count! Supporting the local cat’s home is very charitable but does not count as clothing.

So what happens next?

1. A man leaves some money on the bed side table as he puts on his trousers and leaves …………

Action: ……….you scream ……………. What just $20 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. You turn to one side and see a naked man and two naked female fashion models in bed with you

Action: Roll over and go back to sleep you are ether in some guys dream or if real with the fashion models in bed with you than you know your honour is quite safe.

3. There is Eric the vampire from True Blood next to you in bed.

Action: ………….. Pounce on him ….he is not going to get away again!

4. You notice the room is empty apart from a pile of female clothes which are not yours.

Action :………. ….You know that no matter how short the skirt is you will go without underwear today as there is just no way you are ever going to put on another persons used underwear!

5. You look down and see you are now a guy You have changed sex during the night !!!! And then you hear a female voice near by asked how was it for you and shall we do it again?

Action:……………. Hope whatever the new extra bits you have know what they are going to do with out you having to order an owner’s manual from Amazon, but then as you stare at what is between your legs and now you more fear that the bigger problem will be trying to fit back into the micro dress you had on last night

6. You look down and you are still female but you hear a female voice near by asked how was it for you and shall we do it again.

Action: ……………. Telling her you have a headache only works on guys so you look on the bright side no matter what went on its now too late and turn to her thinking at least you won’t get pregnant.

7. You look down at your hand and discover a gold band on your wedding finger and snoring coming from someone near you in bed.

Action………………. Panic ! all you can remember are day glow cocktails with strange names like oblivion and something so pretty that it could not be alcoholic………. You can only remember talking to two people last night 1. a long distant truck driver who got his tattoos while in jail and 2. the bartender you are really praying it is the bartender next to you and then you remember the bartender was female and remembering the tattoos still pray it is the bartender!

8. You look around the empty room and remember that you booked yourself in last night just after being sick over the guy you fancied and you did not even remember eating peas. But he refused to take you home so you crashed here.

Action:……………….You pray to all the gods you know thanking them for the pounding head and the feeling of still wanting to be sick as it could have been far worse!

Book Description

Today's world is difficult for everyone, especially teenagers. They face the stresses of school, deciding whom to date, and the biggie of sex, just to name a few. Imagine all of those things ten times worse, and you might get an idea of what it's like being a living, breathing teenage vampire. At last, the world can read about the life of a girl with good teeth, her problems with strong sunlight that gave her spots, and the sunblock that made her hair go yucky and produced more spots. Yes, sunlight was dangerous, as she could be the first teenager in history to die from terminal acne! In her everyday life, older vampires expected her to walk about at night in the traditional female uniform, a see-through, 18th-century nightdress, without undies! Well, this female vampire knew why the cold winds blowing along the corridors were called, "male winds," so she wore her see-through nightdress over jeans and a very thick jumper. To be sure that people would still know she was a vampire, the jumper had a very large, pink bat on it. And as to guys, well, it was normal for a girl to dream about guys; she just wished the dreams could have involved chocolates and holding hands, not leaping out at someone, ripping off his shirt, and demanding to know what blood type he was (at least not on the first date).

About the Author

The Author Amelia Mah is a 20 something snarky, sarcastic and cynical author who has a very popular blog of how she sees the world from the point of view of a modern teenage vampire. Following the success of her first book "FANGS RULE A girls guide to being a vampire" she had now expanded the idea of life as a teenage vampire into a full novel Amelia has given her avatar her own name so you can see the world first hand from a very bored teenage vampire that has been forced to remain a teenager for far too long She may have very good teeth and the ability to hang from ceilings but life is far from easy.

My Status Update Journey

Book Summary:
The author of this book also wrote the next paragraph. I wonder if you
be able to pick up on that. If not, you might not be qualified and/or
prepared to read the inside of this book. Seriously, if you read the
next paragraph and you fail to consider that I'm purposely trying to
over-hype the book for the potential sale, don't buy the book. Oops,
let me rephrase that. Don't buy the book for yourself - buy the book
for someone else.

This book is so captivating! You'll be on the edge of your seat from
the first word all the way through to the last. You'll be guessing
with each turn of a page. What topic will Marcus cover next? Every
page is incredible! You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll be touched,
moved, and inspired. This book will bring back memories that have long
been buried. You'll want to read this one again and again. Or not. How
am I supposed to tell? I don't even know you. Maybe you've recently
been in an accident. Maybe the act of laughing causes horrible pains
and spasms and causes stitches to burst. In which case, you should
consider healing fully before embarking on my journey through three
years of social networking status updates. Follow my journey as told
by my status updates and the intriguing commentary from the voices in
my head. On this trip you find stories of a family man, growing
children, delicious cereals, malfunctioning toilets, park benches,
awesome soldiers, birthday parties, adorable puppies, on-line games,
winter storms, roller coasters, slugs, and a high profile celebrity
party. This book contains a topic for everyone! If you can't find a
situation or something to relate to in this book, you are either dead
or you're that person that no one wants to be around. You owe it to
yourself to read this book in order to confirm that you're alive and
that you are not "that guy." Seriously, what if you are a loser and
you don't know it? Let me help you. Read my book. Help me, help you.
Really.
About the Author: Marcus gets a sharp agonizing sensation in his leg
muscles when he attempts to place his foot behind his head. Oh, wait a
minute. I guess that's not the kind of thing we're looking for here.
Let me try again. Marcus lives with his wonderful wife of over fifteen
years and his two awesome boys in Mason, Ohio. Better? Good, now start
reading the book.

I also have a blog that I refer to the sale of my books (if you look closely):

http://amzn.com/e/B00849LGF2

http://voicesinhishead.com

Marcus Matherne (1970 - not dead) lives (because I'm not dead) in
Mason Ohio with his wonderful wife (also living) of over fifteen years
and his two awesome boys. Nothing makes him happier then when he is
surrounded by laughing people (unless they are mean people and they
are actually laughing at him). He plays the part of the funny dad in
his role of raising teenage boys. There maybe a real possibility of
his sense of humor rubbing off on his family and potentially warping
the minds of his children. But don't call social services just yet.
He's not done yet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

There you are details of a nice new book out and of course it is at this point I cough and remind you all of my nice new book which I still have lots of copies all ready to post out.

New Vampire Feature Film by Will Blech

Hello fellow vampire fans!

First off, I want to say thank you to Amy Mah for allowing me to address you all on his blog. Amy, you have my thanks.

Secondly, I'd like to introduce myself and the new independent vampire film project I'm working on. My name is Will Blesch, and I am an American/Israeli film producer, director, and writer.

Big deal! You say.

But, wait a second. Let me explain why this is significant?

There has never been an English language (or any language) vampire feature film made in Israel. Moreover, there has never been one that was designed specifically for an international audience.

We aim to change that.

Now, you may or may not care about Israel... but I am pretty sure you care about vampires. And one thing many people believe is that there are few new twists to the vampire mythos. There's not a lot of stuff that's truly innovative. Seriously, you've got the basics covered in practically every vampire novel or film since Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Vampires all drink blood, can't stand mirrors, garlic, crosses, holy water, and they can be killed by having their heads chopped off, having a wooden stake driven into their hearts or by chaining them outside as the sun rises.

Come on. There has to be more. Right? What if ALL the tales about vampires were simply... wrong? What if everything you thought you knew about them was just one way of looking at things? What if there were other tales? What if the true origins of vampires was really, and truly, more horrifying than you ever imagined?

We're planning on creating something through "Requiem for the Night" that takes on the "What if" questions asked above and we plan on answering them.

Now, we're raising some initial funds through Indiegogo.com, a great crowdfunding website. (If you don't know what crowdfunding is, you can check the term here)

I could go into a lot of depth on the wherefore and the why in this blog posting, but I won't bore you. Instead, I'll point you to our campaign home where you can learn more about the project and why we believe you should help us out... either through donating to the campaign... or simply by spreading its link around.

You can check out our efforts here:

http://igg.me/p/234476

Before you do though, there is some cool stuff that you should know. And, you are getting some of this news first. We've just added some new videos to our campaign, but there's more coming... and I'm sharing some news with you here that hasn't hit the campaign website yet.

So what's that news?

We have letters of interest from some prominent actors such as Ami Weinberg (Steven Spielberg’s “Munich”), Alon Dahan (“A Matter of Size”, and “The Syrian Bride”), Shlomit Mandel (German director, Maria Schrader's "Liebesleben") and Yinon Sapir (Adam Sandler’s “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan" ).

In terms of myself and my credentials, I am currently directing another documentary feature film produced by one of Israel's top producers: Mr. Ilan Moskovitch (worked with famous Israeli director, Amos Gitai on over 22 well-known films including Free-Zone with Natalie Portman and more).

Now, we're in talks with some other, higher profile actors than even these fine actors listed above. And, we're moving forward with product placement and a lot of other things that people who aren't filmmakers probably don't really care about but that are essential to getting fans the films they crave.

Bottom line is that we're on the hunt for fans like you. We want your blood...so to speak. Or... your hard-earned money and your support. We need it and we're asking for it. We want you to be a part of making history!

Come join us in creating a new, exciting, and never before done take on the vampire mythos. And remember, it's very easy to get in touch. We don't bite (hard). You can E-mail us at any time here: OverseerOfMinions AT gmail DOT com.

Oh! And, join our Facebook Page here.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Requiem-for-the-Night/420703471322030

Let’s give the vampire genre a kick in the ass and show the world that our blood suckers come from a place viewers have never been before.

-Will Blesch

P.S.

We're putting up a kickass new video as our main pitch video this weekend. Our Facebook fanpage is also getting updated. You should totally check it out!

Inside Out by Rowyn Ashby

Dying
is easy. Returning as your lover’s enemy is hell.

Inside Out

When refined cellist Olivia Hart decides she needs
more sexual confidence in her marriage, she crosses the River Thames to gritty South
London and steps into Hunter Orlando’s tattoo parlor.
The sexy female tattoo artist seems to be everything Olivia isn’t—wild,
decadent, free—so Olivia lets her pick an old tattoo design sure to make her
feel more daring. But when Hunter's gang-leader boyfriend recognizes Olivia as
the wife of rich banker Shane Hart, he decides she’s worth far more than the
price of a little ink.

When Olivia is kidnapped and killed during the
rescue attempt, Shane Hart loses everything. But after six months of wasting
away, his senses are strangely awakened by the sexy biker chick, Hunter
Orlando, whom the police believe to be responsible for Olivia’s kidnapping and
death. Hunter is too aggressive and wild for him, but there's something about
her, and it's not just the “magic” tattoo she and his wife Olivia have in
common.

After Olivia finds herself alive—in Hunter’s
body—she’s hurt to see her husband so interested in another woman after only
six months. But she can’t help loving the way Shane makes her blood boil, the
way she responds to him now in bed, and the way his lovemaking has gone from
sweet and gentle to raw and primal and uninhibited…

Teen orphan frustrated by her fangs and claws and the desire for blood

Review Of Amy Mah’s ‘Vampire’

Review of Amy Mah’s ‘Vampire’

Posted on Thursday October, 4 2012 | 3 Comments

These days a simple “thumb’s up” or “thumb’s down” too often passes for a book review.  Well I don’t agree with that, and rarely more-so than with the novelVampire by Amy Mah.  Why?  Because the book won’t appeal to everyone the same way.

For example, yours truly doesn’t enjoy anime all that very much.  And this book clearly falls into that genre, complete with some things I find so irritating.  But that remains a personal preference not an objective judgment.

Here’s the blurb:  Today’s world is difficult for everyone, especially teenagers. They face the stresses of school, deciding whom to date, and the biggie of sex, just to name a few. Imagine all of those things ten times worse, and you might get an idea of what it’s like being a living, breathing teenage vampire. Well, this female vampire knew why the cold winds blowing along the corridors were called, “male winds,” so she wore her see-through nightdress over jeans and a very thick jumper.

This specific blurb hints slightly at what gave me personally a hard time getting into the book–namely, the raw immaturity of the central character.  Amy (aka Amelia, Hell Cat, Lady Pinkbat, A-Me, etc) made me want to hit her.  Or least run somewhere else other than her company.  In fact, I’d recommend her as an example to show Twi-haters just how grating teenagers might be (so thank your lucky stars for Bella Swan!).  The rampant sexism of the vampire society with which she eventually interacts also made me recoil.

However, I’m glad my obligation as a reviewer made me continue.  What followed eventually provided a peak into an imaginary world very nearly on parr with Hogwarts.  Okay, that is an exaggeration but still, this place proved very interesting and (more importantly) entertaining.  Imagine if you will an underground (literally) culture of human-shaped predators, binding themselves with rituals and rules to keep themselves from mutual murder.  Now look at it from the point of view of a new-commer, one who slowly learns that lots of these rules are routinely broken.  Especially by teenagers or the vampiric equivalent.

Amy, our heroine, starts off as a teen orphan frustrated by her fangs and claws and the desire for blood.  Born a vampire, but not knowing any of her own kind–until one night when someone she eventually comes to call “Uncle” comes across her.  Then Amy begins a journey.  Kicking and screaming (something also biting and scratching) she finds herself adopted into a Nest.  More, she finds within herself what seems like an ancestral memory, a primal self from before the time when vampires changed to look like human beings.

She gains a family.  Eventually, she even gets a boyfriend.

Revealing too much of what happens would indeed spoil what seems like a rollicking good tale, but suffice to say I enjoyed the ride.  Well before fifteen percent into the book I found myself engrossed and eager to find out what happened next.  Glimpses of vampire politics, history, lore and how predatory instincts shape their society wove into a really cool, interesting tableau.  Plus a real sense of humor, such as Amy’s vampire ‘Aunt’ with her formidable insistence on pink bats woven into black outfits.  Even stuffed pink bats.  Still wonder about her… I mean, pink?  Really?

I’ll make a couple of points, though.  One is that the story covers more time than I would have thought reading.  Quite a bit more time.  Second, the shift in POV can be disorienting (on the other hand one does get used to it before too long).  My biggest complaint is length–feels like there’s so much of this specific story that never ever gets told.  Like the woman who raised Amy–she remains a total cypher and we never do read a single line of her dialogue.  Monologue, either for that matter.

More importantly, kudos to Miss Mah for fashioning what seems like a very consistent and interesting type of vampire, one that makes sense in ways that frankly Anne Rice, Bram Stoker and Stephanie Meyer sometimes do not.  The ending, happily, remains open and I look forward to reading the next book in this series!

Author Amy Mah who we had interviewed in our March 1st, 2011 issue, has now published a follow-up issue to her hit Fangs Rule: A Girl’s Guide to being a Vampire. Amy has a huge following in the UK, and is gaining an interest by the younger generation here in the States. Her new book is titled Amy Mah, Vampire, and can be found at Amazon.

 Author
The Author Amelia Mah is a 20 something snarky, sarcastic and cynical author who has a very popular blog of how she sees the world from the point of view of a modern teenage vampire Following the success of her first book “FANGS RULE A girls guide to being a vampire” she had now expanded the idea of life as a teenage vampire into a full novel Amelia has given her avatar her own name so you can see the world first hand from a very bored teenage vampire that has been forced to remain a teenager for far too long She may have very good teeth and the ability to hang from ceilings but life is far from easy. Today’s world is difficult for everyone, especially teenagers. They face the stresses of school, deciding whom to date, and the biggie of sex, just to name a few. Imagine all of those things ten times worse, and you might get an idea of what it’s like being a living, breathing teenage vampire. At last, the world can read about the life of a girl with good teeth, her problems with strong sunlight that gave her spots, and the sun block that made her hair go yucky and produced more spots. Yes, sunlight was dangerous, as she could be the first teenager in history to die from terminal acne! In her everyday life, older vampires expected her to walk about at night in the traditional female uniform, a see-through, 18th-century nightdress, without undies! Well, this female vampire knew why the cold winds blowing along the corridors were called, “male winds,” so she wore her see-through nightdress over jeans and a very thick jumper.

As I said take a look at the book trailer to see what I mean I have now learnt more about being female than from any school biology class ...................

Come to think about it I have learned more about being female from the female section of the local drug store than I even did from school biology.

Don't for get if you like self help guides there is mine .........Fangs Rule

Ho yes mine is not only good for getting blood stains out of clothing but will give handy hints on how to get rid or the dead body..............

If you think just being female is hard work then try being one that will bite someone at any time of the month

kindle vampire books

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Delightful 4 Feb 2012

By N. Medina - Published on Amazon.com

Format:Kindle Edition

For centuries, it's been said that vampires live amongst us. That their way of life is similar to ours, even if they live in secret. It's also been said they don't eat, sleep, or even breathe. Myths surrounding vampires also tell us that they've wings and can turn into bats, amongst other things.

With this guide for the every day vampire girl, Amy Mah puts all those myths to rest. Vampires do breath and sleep and they very much eat. There's just a certain etiquette one must follow in order to acquaint themselves with the right or wrong way in which to live life as a vampire.

Vampires go through the same hardships as we do, but as the guide defines, they have it harder than we do. From the moment they are born, (unless they're turned), every aspect of a teenage vampire girl's life is dictated. Heck, they're even contracted for marriage way before they're even born.

Despite that fact, this delightful guide tells us the right way to go about things in the vampire world. Undergarments, lipstick, fashion, boyfriends, food - you name it, there's a rule for that. Regardless of what you're told immortality is not a given, as vampires can also die. A vampire's saving grace is the fact that they've a longer life span.

As depicted within Amy's guide, etiquette and proper grooming is the key in getting the best out of the vampiric world. And if you ever thought that vampires don't date then think again. They do. Just their way of doing things is quite different from ours. Plus, there's the fact that they bite.

This handy little guide on etiquette and all things vampire in a teenager's world is a definite must have. It'll definitely teach you a thing or two on how to stay alive and co-exist in today's vampiric, and human-alike, society.

So if you ever find yourself skulking around in a dark alley and happen to meet a hunky vampire, or two or three, just remember the lessons learned in this cheeky little book Amy has put together. Remembering the golden rules of being a vampire will surely help you stay alive. And remember, don't forget to carry around one of those handy blood packs in case you ever get the munchies!

I so totally enjoyed reading this book. It's humor and insight into a teenage vampire's world was truly delightful. Humans and vampires-alike will love the sass and spunk found within every page. The advice offered can certainly be implemented into just about anything.

The illustrations found within the book were very beautiful and nicely put together. I felt each one added a deeper perception to the story. The pictures were certainly eye-candy for sure. A definite must-read!
