Charlie David Reviews ILLUSION

My friend, the talented actor, writer (MULLIGANS), and all around beauty, Charlie David (he hosts Bump! and stars in Dante's Cove, among others), reviewed my book THE REST IS ILLUSION. Take a look HERE, and then stick around. He's got some great pieces on his blog. Very uplifting stuff. It's a little disconcerting when you meet someone who's so attractive, but then also as talented and nice as he is.

One Good Thing
My heart skipped a beat today when my friend Keith invited me for two weeks in September for an all-expense-paid trip to Florida. Woo to the hoo! He's heading there from London for some much needed R&R and kindly asked if I wanted to come along. It was over a casual note on Facebook that he brought it up. That's his way. Laidback. I was going to have a very busy fall anyway, but this just adds to it...in a very good way.

12 Favorite Sarah McLachlan Songs
Sarah McLachlan has a new CD coming out tomorrow called "Laws of Illusion," which I will most certainly be obtaining. Here be a list of my favorite Sarah songs thus far:
"Angel" (the duet version from Lilith Fair with Emmylou Harris)
"Building a Mystery"
"Dear God" (deceptively sweet version of the XTC song)
"Elsewhere"
"Fallen"
"Fear"
"Fumbling Towards Ecstasy"
"The Prayer of St. Francis"
"Sweet Surrender" (the first Sarah song I'd ever heard)
"Vox"
"Wait"
"World on Fire" (amazing video)

One Good Thing
I woke up this morning sweating like a damn dog in heat in the middle of August. It gets unbearable in southern Indiana in the summer. It's the river that does it. All that humidity rising up and suffocating you. You'd think William Faulkner done wrote the weather forecast for all the swelter we get - but sadly, not a sexy Marlon Brando or Paul Newman on the scene. Sigh. Anyway, I was sticky and gross, so I stepped into the shower. And folks, there is nothing better than a cool shower in swel...

So damn funny, especially for folk raised as a JW:

Madonna vs Gaga
Love the choice of song here. This video really points out the similarities between the two. At this point, I have to say that Lady Gaga's entire career seems like a well-crafted ode to Madonna:

One Good Thing
I cheated a bit today. Had a piece of BLT pizza. Mmmmm. I would feel bad about it, but it's too hot for that shit. I'll sweat it all off by tonight anyway. Tomorrow is technically my cheat day, but I have a feeling that none of the fat and calories translates on the weekend. It just magically doesn't make a difference. That's my theory anyway. It's worked for me since college. Damn, those calories was good!
