Happy New Year 2021
Happy New Year to you & Yours from me & my family (furry & human)
Just wanted to let you all know I'm thinking of you, wherever you may be around the world. 2020 was a year that will go down in history as a real corker - fire, flood, famine, unrest and disease. But we made it through (a little tattered, a little tired, a little grumpy, a little bemused...but here we are!)
I'm praying for a happier 2021. May it be full of blessings and brighter moments for you all. Stay safe, keep moving forward one foot at a time - we're getting there!

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Just a few more days and it's Christmas. I love this time of the year. It may not be fancy this year, may be a little more subdued, but it's still a time to remember the true meaning of Christmas.
So share a smile with someone, maybe hand them that extra piece of Christmas cake, leave a nice card for the lonely person down the street. It all means something to someone.
Don't forget your little pets, don't forget those animals that are hungry and homeless - even a small donation to an animal charity can do so much good.
Whether you spend it alone, with your furry (or finned/feathered/scaled etc friend), your family or friends, know that you are special to someone. Buy yourself a little something special, no matter how small, sit back and look around you at the miracles that happen every day – the flowers, the sun that rises, the moon, the stars, the birds, a smile from someone, a ‘hello’, a nod.
You are a part of the world! *hugs*

Thief is Released!
Well, I got this current re-write/re-edit done quicker than I expected! Obviously by the time I hit bk 6 of my old sci-fi series, my writing had improved ;-) No major rewrite, but some plot-hole fixing and some grammar correcting.
So Thief is now available from Amazon for Kindle.
Available soon at Smashwords, iBooks, Kobo and Barnes & Noble (Nook).
Print version coming.
Here’s the Amazon link: http://hyperurl.co/ThiefHDSD It’s a universal link so it’ll go to the main Amazon shops in several different countries, depending where you live. Check out the cover, it is soooo cool! Thank you Melody Simmons!
I’ll let you all know when the Nook, iBook etc becomes available.
Here’s the blurb: (and if you’ve never read this book, and you like cats and a laugh, then maybe check it out *wink*) This is definitely a more light-hearted read.
*********
All Lysie did was steal the handsome Argon’s jewels – twice. She hadn’t bargained on being trapped on his space ship. Now she had to figure out how to get away from a man determined to get his vengeance.
Marten had the little thief now, a Felys female with tortoiseshell hair, a purr to curl a man’s toes – and, unbeknownst to him, coming dangerously into heat.
The cyborg wants to kill her. Two hundred years he’s been hunting, and now he’s finally got this Felys in his sights.
*********
So now I’m doing the file clean-ups and all those other jobs that fell by the wayside while I madly worked on Thief! Even better, I have the day off from work, so I have all this time to do things!
Cheers!

HUNTER is released!!
Finally, Hunter, the 5th book in the sci-fi Heart's Desire Soul Destroyed series is done! Complete! Finito!
LOL
Fantastic cover (thanks to Melody Simmons). Check it out
BLURB
One savage night.
A child kidnapped, hurt in the very worst way.
A wench grown, now a bounty hunter.
She’ll hunt them down one-by-one.
The bounty hunter pack is closing in on their prey, Sabra can taste the victory.
Until she’s left dying in the snow.
One cold, bloody night.
He’s found her again.
A wounded wench, a childhood friend.
It will take all Cam has to save this lass.
If that’s not bad enough, plans are afoot, something more is happening in the galaxy, something that will touch them all - for evil dwells wherever man walks. Space pirates and outlaws, vengeance and murder…and something very alien.
*trigger warning child abuse* though the story doesn't go into a lot of indepth details about the abuse the heroine suffered at the hands of the space pirate, what is mentioned may be a trigger for anyone who has experienced it.
**
availble in ebook now from Amazon & Smashwords
ebook soon from B&N iBooks KOBO
soon in print
*please be aware that Hunter will switch to KDPSelect (Amazon exculsive) towards the end of September 2020
**
So now I'm going to do some last 'clean-up details' to do with a new release, then I plan to hit the sofa this afternoon with some horror movies. I've been going at this book hammer and tongs to get it done before I go back to work tomorrow! Then having a week or two off to recuperate before I hit the next Hope Bay novel.
Hope everyone is staying as safe as they can in this crazy world. I've seen some jaw-dropping things on TV (really, people? you REALLY did that?!).
The fires in California are horrific, my heart goes out to all caught up this terrible thing right on top of the pandemic.
Will catch up with you all again soon, I promise. It's been a crazy couple of months!
cheers

eBook Sale/ Kitten Adventure/ General Update
Man, it has been awhile since I wrote anything here! Sorry all, you know...life has a way of propleeling us forwards and sometimes time to do other things just doesn't happen!
Before I start the blog properly, I’ll quickly let you know that Smashwords is having their July Summer/Winter sale - lots of FREE and DISCOUNTED ebooks. All my ebooks are up there for $1.00 (full novels) and 99c (novellas), so if you’re wanting to check out some of my books, or find some new authors/genres/stories, do go and have a peek. I love sales, I always buy ebooks and find something new! Have fun, and feel free to spread the word! Here’s the link: https://www.smashwords.com/shelves/pr...
So what have I been up to? Well, apart from working the day job I have:
1. Been re-editing/re-writing the 5th sci-fi book. I'm about two thirds of the way through it and hope to release it in about 2 months - to give me time to work and edit LOL.
2. Finished another diamond mosaic. It relaxes me so much and like everyone, in this crazy world we currently live in, I need some downtime to unwind and recharge, and DM generally works for me.
3. Watched some horror movies - both good and why-the-heck-did-I-buy-this-that's-an-hour-and-a-half-of-my-life-I'll-not-get-back! I love it when I can get a good scare or creepy feeling up my spine, but when it's so pathetic I wear out the fast forward button on the remote control, well...
Speaking of which, I DID have to buy a new DVD remote control because...um...I wore out the fast forward button so much they couldn't fix it anymore *cough*
4. Been playing with book covers again and have updated 2 - Call on Me and Lean on Me (The Mackay Sisters duet). You can check the covers out here if you're interested:
I really like them!
5. Got up early Thurs a week ago (5:45am), fed my cats, opened the door to feed the 2 strays and found 1 stray and a tiny kitten about 7 - 8 weeks old. Let's boil it all down into a nutshell - kitten scared, Ang tip-toeing around the front yard in the dark and cold in shirt sleeves trying to get kitten, dragged 80 yr old mother out of bed to help so now there's 2 of us (she's in her nightie) going around the yard, I manage to grab it as it crouches in the bushes and tries to take off, I have hold of it’s wee leg and call to Mum to take her as I’m tangled up in the branches of the bushes and can’t change my grip without getting my eye poked out by the branches nor can I reach the kitten with my other hand, Mum grabs the kitten, kitten bites Mum, mum screeches and lets go, Mum bleeding from finger, and the kitten escapes into the neighbours place, I couldn't find it after about 15 minutes of trying to coax it to reveal itself, went back home feeling sick thinking of that poor scared little baby by herself, got Sammy's food, opened the door to hear the kitten back in our front yard, fed Sammy and after managing to pin-point the tiny meows I find the kitten wedging itself beside the bin near the gate and wall, couldn't get her as every time I reached in one side she'd go around the other side, scared she'd spy the escape place and do a runner, dragged 80 yr old mother out of bed again to block of one escape route and - GOT THE KITTEN! Not feral or wild, just scared and old and hungry. Cooed and oohed and snuggle her in my cardigan, went inside. Mother went back to bed after smooching the kitty and cooing to it, I fed the kitty, warmed her up and put her in the cat basket. She refused water, so I hoofed it to the shop at 7am to get her kitten milk (good on ya, Whiskas!), she slurped it down and then wanted to snuggle and play and explore! rang the ranger at 7:45am, she came and got the kitten, who did her 72 hours at the pound before transfer to the cat shelter, within 2 days we were notified she'd been rehomed.
YAY!
Yes, we wanted to keep her, but with 6 of our own furries and 2 strays who come and go (and basically live at our place all day as well), and having Evie on Prozac because she gets aggro with the other cats, especially Lacy, there was no way we could put another kitty in the mix.
Suffice it to say, we did the rescue, she found a new home!
What got me, though, was that no one came looking for her - either door knocking or letter box dropping or going to the pound. I'd have been on every door at first light! So I'm thinking she may have been dumped, poor baby.
Alls well that ends well, though!
Keep safe and well, people, and I'll catch you on the next round. Always feel free to message me here if you want. I'll always get back to you - maybe not straight away due to time zones and working, but I will reply!
Keep smiling, keep reading, and be kind to each other.
*hugs*

Friends Are Lights in the Darkness
So, just checking in with you all.
I was emailing my friends today, both overseas and in my home city (large town, little city...) and you know what? I realised that friends are the light in the darkness.
Keep that light shining, people. Ring a friend, email a friend, Skype a friend, Facebook/Twitter whatever, yell a g'day over the fence to your neighbour (keeping the legal distance).
BUT KEEP THAT LIGHT SHINING!!!
Got you all in my prayers *hugs* Stay safe

Book Sale to Help with Coronavirus Quarantine & Financial Hardship
The coronavirus has many people in quarantine, either through self-quarantine or enforced quarantine. In a nutshell, some countries are suffering worse than others, some are at the beginning, some in the middle, and some towards the end.
I know how valuable books can be during times of quarantine. I know many people have lost jobs or work hours. So to help, I'm dropping the price of the ebooks listed below from US $3.99 to just US 0.99c.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE REDUCED PRICES ARE STILL ROLLING THROUGH THE DIFFERENT DISTRIBUTORS - so you will have to check over the next few days.
Unless otherwise indicated, the ebooks are available from Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, iBooks and Kobo - links on my website www.angelaverdenius.com
Feel free to spread the word.
So if you haven't read these books but are interested in checking them out, these are the ones currently dropped in price:
Contemporary Romance (mostly BBWs)
Adam's Thorn
The Goodbye Girl
Christmas Blues at Flynn's
Gully's Fall series:
Burn for You
Fall for You
Lie to Me
Fly with Me
You're the One
Second Chance
Hope Bay series:
Secrets
Sci-fi romance (Amazon and KDP Select only)
Heart's Desire Soul Destroyed series:
Outlaw
Mercenary
Betrayed
Assassin
And if you're up for something saucier, funny, and don't mind VERY salty language, there are also the two novellas written under the pen name Ang Kemp:
Devilish Men series (Amazon & KDP Select only)
Devil in the Kitchen
Devil on a Hunt
People, we’ve come through many things - SARS, MRSA and swine flu. Our elders have come through World Wars and poverty, economic crashes, you name it. Many of us are going to suffer losses - financially, emotionally, physically, friends and family. I’m sorry we have to go through this, but there’s no way else to do this but continue going forwards. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, we’ll reach it. We’ll get through this. We WILL come out the other side, and life will resume. It’ll be hard for awhile, no doubt about it. But meanwhile, keep plodding forward. Support each other, send a cheery email, a joke, a funny pic to your friends and family. Phone them up, have a chat. If there are any people in need, especially the elderly or sick, and you can help in some way big or small, please do so.
Look out for each other. Don’t hog the bog paper when you shop! (Seriously, who ever thought bog paper would be worth more than gold right now?!)
We will come through this, people. We just gotta hang in there. So stay alert, follow the news, don’t believe the rumours, and please, get your information from the WHO website or CDC. DO NOT rely on rumours from all those well-known social media sites. Get the truth. And my advice is do not overload yourself with hours upon hours of watching the news and updates. Take a break, do something else. Keep updated a couple of times a day but don’t let it consume you.
Okay?
If you’re in quarantine, look for something you might have put off doing, take the time to read, knit, do those model airplanes you have stashed away in the back of your cupboard, watch some movies.
As for me? I’m still working in Palliative Care in my hospital Down Under. We’re taking precautions and being updated by our Infection Control staff. Slowly but surely it seems the virus is spreading it’s tentacles closer to us, but whatever happens, we’ll face it. ‘Cause we have to, right?
Got you all in my prayers, stay safe, and here’s looking forward to the future…and enough bog paper.
*hugs*

*hugs*
Ang

New Covers and Cover Preferences
So, I have some new covers for the entire Gully's Fall series and for Adam's Thorn. Let me know if you like them or not!
See, here's the thing. It's really hard to try and figure out what, exactly, readers like on covers. The heaving bosom, the manly chest, the hugging couple, maybe just a pair of legs facing each other, a symbol...what? Then there's the whole expected cover-style for erotic romance, steamy romance, comedy romance, romance suspense, general contemporary romance, sweet romance - you name it. And then let's add the latest trend to that as well, shall we?
Do you have any idea how hard it is to get covers for BBW romances that feature a couple? Especially when you've already written it and hello! Cannot find a woman or bloke with the same coloured hair or length or eyes or build or whatever, because the writer (*aka me) was a dumb bum and should have maybe checked covers out BEFORE writing the book? But then that'd mean my idea of the hero or heroine would have to change. And that in turn means it wouldn't be the same character, right? Not the same as I'd pictured, as had come to me. Etc etc. You get the idea.
So anyway, let me know what you think of the new covers (honest opinion, I won’t be hurt ) and hey! Tell me what you like to see on your romance covers!!

Assassin is Released!
"Assassin" is bk 4 in the Heart's Desire Soul Destroyed sci-fi romance series.
Yes, I am stoked to have finally completed the editing and re-writing of this book (originally 'Loves Sweet Assassin'). Not as major a re-write as the previous 3 books, but it does have some altered scenes, some added bits, and some contradictions fixed. So some major and minor tweaking :-)
Here, for your enjoyment, is a sexy, funny romp with a serious undertone (because I like to mix it up a bit *wink*) I love the cover courtesy of Melody Simmons
I have no idea how to post the cover here, or if I even can, but if you pop over to my website, it's right there! www.angelaverdenius.com
Blurb:
**
The heat is turning up in this corner of the galaxy!
Six attempts on his life, one failed would-be assassin in his grip - Kiile was going to get answers from this short, sassy, outrageous wench any way he can - and the best way he knows how.
Katina had her reasons for obeying her murderous master, and it’s landed her in hot water - right up to her neck. She had a surprise for this sex god…at least until it all started going horribly wrong.
A leader of a sensual race, a desperate wench, frustrated bodyguards, a host of exasperating and exasperated characters, laughter, love, suspicion, attraction and plans that go awry.
**
Available now in ebook from Amazon (kindle) & Smashwords (selection of formats)
Watch the website for links coming very soon for iBooks Kobo Barnes & Noble (Nook)
Print version coming.
**please note that after 4 weeks the ebook version of Assassin will flip to KDP Select**
I'm having the next couple of days off, then I have to start studying for work and then it's time to choose the next book. Hmmm...bk 5 in the HDSD series, or the 2nd book in the Hope Bay series? Decisions, decisions! But I have to get these 7 modules for work done first. Ah, the good times never end LOL.
cheers!
