eBook Sale/ Kitten Adventure/ General Update

Man, it has been awhile since I wrote anything here! Sorry all, you know...life has a way of propleeling us forwards and sometimes time to do other things just doesn't happen!

Before I start the blog properly, I’ll quickly let you know that Smashwords is having their July Summer/Winter sale - lots of FREE and DISCOUNTED ebooks. All my ebooks are up there for $1.00 (full novels) and 99c (novellas), so if you’re wanting to check out some of my books, or find some new authors/genres/stories, do go and have a peek. I love sales, I always buy ebooks and find something new! Have fun, and feel free to spread the word! Here’s the link: https://www.smashwords.com/shelves/pr...

So what have I been up to? Well, apart from working the day job I have:

1. Been re-editing/re-writing the 5th sci-fi book. I'm about two thirds of the way through it and hope to release it in about 2 months - to give me time to work and edit LOL.

2. Finished another diamond mosaic. It relaxes me so much and like everyone, in this crazy world we currently live in, I need some downtime to unwind and recharge, and DM generally works for me.

3. Watched some horror movies - both good and why-the-heck-did-I-buy-this-that's-an-hour-and-a-half-of-my-life-I'll-not-get-back! I love it when I can get a good scare or creepy feeling up my spine, but when it's so pathetic I wear out the fast forward button on the remote control, well...

Speaking of which, I DID have to buy a new DVD remote control because...um...I wore out the fast forward button so much they couldn't fix it anymore *cough*

4. Been playing with book covers again and have updated 2 - Call on Me and Lean on Me (The Mackay Sisters duet). You can check the covers out here if you're interested:

I really like them!

5. Got up early Thurs a week ago (5:45am), fed my cats, opened the door to feed the 2 strays and found 1 stray and a tiny kitten about 7 - 8 weeks old. Let's boil it all down into a nutshell - kitten scared, Ang tip-toeing around the front yard in the dark and cold in shirt sleeves trying to get kitten, dragged 80 yr old mother out of bed to help so now there's 2 of us (she's in her nightie) going around the yard, I manage to grab it as it crouches in the bushes and tries to take off, I have hold of it’s wee leg and call to Mum to take her as I’m tangled up in the branches of the bushes and can’t change my grip without getting my eye poked out by the branches nor can I reach the kitten with my other hand, Mum grabs the kitten, kitten bites Mum, mum screeches and lets go, Mum bleeding from finger, and the kitten escapes into the neighbours place, I couldn't find it after about 15 minutes of trying to coax it to reveal itself, went back home feeling sick thinking of that poor scared little baby by herself, got Sammy's food, opened the door to hear the kitten back in our front yard, fed Sammy and after managing to pin-point the tiny meows I find the kitten wedging itself beside the bin near the gate and wall, couldn't get her as every time I reached in one side she'd go around the other side, scared she'd spy the escape place and do a runner, dragged 80 yr old mother out of bed again to block of one escape route and - GOT THE KITTEN! Not feral or wild, just scared and old and hungry. Cooed and oohed and snuggle her in my cardigan, went inside. Mother went back to bed after smooching the kitty and cooing to it, I fed the kitty, warmed her up and put her in the cat basket. She refused water, so I hoofed it to the shop at 7am to get her kitten milk (good on ya, Whiskas!), she slurped it down and then wanted to snuggle and play and explore! rang the ranger at 7:45am, she came and got the kitten, who did her 72 hours at the pound before transfer to the cat shelter, within 2 days we were notified she'd been rehomed.
YAY!

Yes, we wanted to keep her, but with 6 of our own furries and 2 strays who come and go (and basically live at our place all day as well), and having Evie on Prozac because she gets aggro with the other cats, especially Lacy, there was no way we could put another kitty in the mix.
Suffice it to say, we did the rescue, she found a new home!
What got me, though, was that no one came looking for her - either door knocking or letter box dropping or going to the pound. I'd have been on every door at first light! So I'm thinking she may have been dumped, poor baby.
Alls well that ends well, though!

Keep safe and well, people, and I'll catch you on the next round. Always feel free to message me here if you want. I'll always get back to you - maybe not straight away due to time zones and working, but I will reply!

Keep smiling, keep reading, and be kind to each other.
*hugs*
