GOD’S GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

One night, I looked up and saw a framed statement that changed my life. It was among pictures of crop duster airplanes, guitar players, and Texas folk art. The framed quote read: “Time is God’s way of keeping everything from happening at once.”

I didn’t know it at the time, but that was actually a quote from Einstein. I had to drive all the way back to Johnson County, Texas, and I couldn’t get that phrase out of my head. I prayed out loud and asked God, “Sir, why wouldn’t You want everything to happen at one time?”

That night, God began to talk to me about time in an ongoing dialogue that is still in conversation today.

It turns out, God wants us to move from past to future, from dark to light, and from death to life. He likes progression and forward movement. If He is going to redeem us and move us from history to destiny, time is the only place something like that can happen. Time is a stage where the spotlight can shine on redemption and transformation.

Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. Romans 8:30 NKJV

He offers mercy, grace, forgiveness, and salvation to all He has created. When we are ready to move forward with Him, He will be ready for us.

Declaration: My life is progressing according to God’s plan. I submit myself to His leadership so I can be transformed and set free in every way He has for me. My heart is full of gratitude for all He has accomplished in my life.  I am excited about my future with Him.

THE LORD’S HOUSE

THE LORD’S HOUSE

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the Lord’s house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow to it.  – Isaiah 2:2 NKJV

Isaiah 2:2 is a message of hope in the last days.  When the Lord’s house is established on the mountaintop, we will be in the days of peace.  All the nations that place themselves above God will be brought low and the low will be brought up above the nations and will be with King Jesus

So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.  – Matthew 19:28 NKJV

I want to encourage you to always look to the future hope and peace; the Blood of Jesus Christ guarantees your salvation.  Life can be hard, however, when you put your trust and faith in the Lord, He takes on your heavy burdens and gives you His yoke which is easy.

Declaration: I will stay focused on King Jesus and all my hope and peace will rest in Him.  No matter what I face today or in the future, His yoke is easy, and I know King Jesus has taken my heavy burdens onto His shoulders.

FEAR AND GREAT JOY

FEAR AND GREAT JOY

Jesus told us that as it was in the days of Lot and in the days of Noah, so shall it be when He comes back. Evidence around us indicates the time of His return cannot be too far away.  Many of us are ready, but we are also apprehensive because of the days that lie ahead of us.  It was much the same way for His first followers.

But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.” So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy and ran to bring His disciple’s word. – Matthew 28:5-8 NKJV

The times changed completely in three days.  A new era dawned on that Sunday morning.  Revelation rushed into sadness over the loss of a dream; then ushered in great joy measured by some fear.  Obedience took over, and His followers ran to tell the world.

In the coming days, we must know the Word of God – never stop studying it.  We must listen to what He is saying to us today so He can strengthen us.  And even when it feels scary, we must be ready to run to obey what He says.

Declaration: My Savior is returning, and as His bride, I will be ready.  Holy Spirit is filling me up, and the Word of God is stored up in my soul.

JESUS WITH THE CANDLESTICK

JESUS WITH THE CANDLESTICK

Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.  Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.  Matthew 25:1-4 NKJV

Just as we, the believers, are told to keep our lamps full because we do not know the day or the hour when Jesus will return to us, He will be unveiled and revealed to us at the supper table, and we will be in God’s presence.  Jesus is our Light of Truth and God prepares us with His manifest presence to know that Jesus is the Christ when we read His word and hear His voice.

It is the revelation of all things Jesus.  His candlestick burns bright, and He will not remove it because we will not leave our first love.  So, progressive revelation and light of truth are connected.  We need to stand true with our lamps full and the extra oil in our bags, so we do not miss the coming of King Jesus.

Declaration: I will keep my lamp full of oil and extra oil with me, so I do not miss the coming of the Lord.  Jesus is the light of truth, and His candlestick will always burn bright to reflect the word of God and the spirit of God.

HOME IS WITH MY BELOVED

HOME IS WITH MY BELOVED

By grace, we are now fully part of God’s kingdom, a holy habitation. Our souls long to be with our Beloved, and that draws us deeper into that place of belonging.

Lord, I have loved the habitation of Your house, And the place where Your glory dwells. – Psalms 26:8 NKJV

In a wonderful way, the number 26 deals with messianic bloodlines and King David. It is the number of generations from David to Christ. It’s also the number of generations between Moses and Adam.  In the book Song of Solomon, by King David’s son, Soloman, the word “beloved” is found 26 times. David means “beloved.” Though the name “David” is common today, it’s extraordinarily unique in the Bible. There is only one David in all the biblical texts.

Also unique, the number 26 is found only once in all of scripture. It is the numerical value of the name of God in Hebrew. It is the sum of the Hebrew letters yod, he, waw, and he, giving us the name YHWH, 10+5+6+5=26. This name of four letters adding up to 26 is found in Genesis 4:1-26. It begins with the name Adam and ends with the name of God – Yahweh. Pretty cool, huh? Cooler is how beloved you are to God the Father. The Apostle John knew how much God loved us and wrote about it so we would all know the same thing.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. – 1 John 4:7 NKJV

These wise words, written by a man who walked in the power of God’s love, encourage us in our walk today.

Declaration: I am the Beloved, and He is mine.  Holy Spirit empowers me to be a source of the Lord’s love everywhere I go today.

WAITING

WAITING

Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.  For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.  – Proverbs 8:34-35 NKJV

We have a huge value for hearing God speak because we choose relationship over anything else and because with a word from God comes authority to accomplish all things.

At the same time, we are held responsible for partnering with Him in planning and making strategic moves, we are also held responsible for waiting on Him in things we don’t even know how to articulate.  We have a huge value for the well-crafted word God gives us in the areas He has caused us to master.

We also have a huge value for daring to step into the unknown.  Because of our enormous value for progression and upgrade, we have learned to celebrate the joy of discovery.  We do not have to have an explanation for everything when Jesus is the answer to everything.

Declaration: I will live my life waiting upon the directions from the Lord.  I will look for every opportunity to share the blessings of King Jesus.

HOLD ON – HE’S COMING BACK

HOLD ON – HE’S COMING BACK

God is a promise-keeping God.  Soloman was aware of all He was doing as he succeeded his father, David, on the throne.  God wants His Kingdom and government in place so His people are safe and cared for.

You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day. – 1 Kings 8:24 NKJV

We pray, “Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” However, what is celebrated in heaven is not celebrated on the earth because the King of heaven is not celebrated on this earth. Jesus is the ruler of things in heaven, and my friend, He is good.

The One who is good is coming back soon. There is growing opposition to His appearance, so greater hostility against the appearance of His goodness has already begun.

You better hold on and test the truthful metal of everything.  In these days, you will be tempted, like no other generation, to give up on goodness.  If you do not hold on to what is true and what is genuine, you will not hold on to what is good.  You will let it go for your own selfish, destructive ambitions.

I would have lost heart unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. – Psalm 27:13 NKJV

Declaration: I believe that God is good and that He will do good on my behalf.  Jesus reigns as my King and establishes His kingdom on earth where I am.  I will not lose heart because I believe in Jesus.

ESTABLISHED FROM EVERLASTING

I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.  – Proverbs 8:23 NKJV

One of my favorite places is sitting in the presence of the Lord.  I have to sit with Him daily in order to get my priorities for the day settled.  Every time I sit with Him, I commit my works to Him so I can establish my thoughts (Proverbs 16:3).

I want to encourage you to make it a priority to have that relational friendship with God.  We are not called to be only stewards, but we are called heirs to the throne.  As an heir, you want to represent King Jesus as best you can and that can only be done by taking that time to spend with Him.

Remember, when God saw man He said, “It is good.”  Because you were established from everlasting, you need to know that God views you from that point as well.  So next time you make a mistake, remember, God loves your humanity.

Declaration: It is You, Lord, who gives me the power to gain wealth that You may establish Your covenant which You swore to My fathers (Deuteronomy 8:18).  You are blessing me 30, 60, and 100-fold so that I can be a blessing.

WHO ARE YOU, LORD?

WHO ARE YOU, LORD?

So I answered, ‘Who are You, Lord?’ And He said to me, ‘I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting.’ – Acts 22:8 NKJV

This man, Saul, had a blinding light encounter with the Lord. In the context of this verse, the word persecuting means “to hunt down,” like a hunter after his prey.  That is what Saul was doing.  He wanted to hunt to extinction all of Jesus’ followers.

In another meaning, the same word means earnestly wanting, causing one to aggressively chase after.  Saul became the Apostle Paul, and his transformation is epic.  He became a sold-out Jesus freak.  In his letter to the Galatians, he wrote,

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. - Galatians 2:20 NKJV

Who would Jesus say you are?  Are you one who wants to refuse to let Him into your soul and lead you in His ways?  Or are you one who lives by faith in Him?

Who do you say Jesus is?  The One who is trying to keep you from real fun?  Or do you know He loves you and died to give you real life? Talk with Him today, ask Him your hard questions.  Listen and believe what He says.

Declaration: Father God, in a day when it seems everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ, I seek Your hand and Your heart for myself and others. Cause me to fulfill Your law by bearing the burdens of those in my circle of influence. Help me to crucify my flesh with its worldly passions and selfish desires, so I will truly belong to You.

BEGINNING THE UNKNOWN FUTURE

The disciples’ world had been extraordinary; they watched His miracles, then watched His crucifixion.  There was shock and silence for three days.  Then they saw the greatest miracle of all – His resurrection! Here they are in the middle between their past and the beginning of their unknown future. Peter said, I’m going fishing! The rest followed him. Like many of us tend to do, they went back to their past. Then look who showed up.

…that night, they caught nothing. Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”   So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. Therefore, that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. – John 21:4-8 NKJV

When the manifest presence of the Lord shows up, lack becomes abundance, unknown futures turn into missions, and questions get answers.

He literally changes a death-producing event into a life-producing event when He is made manifest in that event. When He says He makes all things new (Revelation 21:5), He is not just being poetic. All things in your timeline can be made new and produce the newness of life and life more abundantly.

Declaration: My life is made new because of Jesus’s death on the cross. I will honor His sacrifice today by inviting His Spirit to lead and guide me in all I do. Because of Him, there is a good day waiting for me; I am going to enjoy it.
