HOPE FOR LIFE

“And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.” Luke 11:4 NKJV  

There is a beautiful scene near the end of The Agony and the Ecstasy, Irving Stone’s historical novel about Michelangelo. An ailing Pope Julius II visits the nearly completed ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. 

Michelangelo has to help him up the last few rungs of the ladder. He looks up at Michelangelo’s depiction of God about to impart the gift of life to Adam. 

This Pope had fought terrible, bloody wars in the name of the church. He has blood on his hands, and he isn’t even sure if it was just or that his cause has been successful. However, as he looks at Michelangelo’s depiction of God, a smile comes to his cracked lips. “Do you truly believe God is that benign?” the Pope asks the artist. Michelangelo replies, “Yes, Holy Father.” 

Pope Julius says, “I most ardently hope so, since I am going to be standing before Him before long. If He is as you have painted Him, then I shall be forgiven my sins.” In Michelangelo’s painting, the Pope saw a different image of God, unlike the one he had lived with his whole life. It never occurred to him that God loved to give life. This God he was getting a revelation of wasn’t killing life. He was giving life. This God was a giver even in the face of his sins. 

That famous painting of the strong finger of God reaching out to touch the limp-wristed hand of Adam actually started a revival that would ruin the Catholic church’s corner on the market of Christianity. When people saw that image, painted high as if they were looking into heaven – a new revelation of the goodness of God actually giving life – hope began to burst into the hearts of people. This revelation would later turn into a major part of the reformation. 

Let us all take time to fast, pray, and ask God to forgive our sins and restore our image of the abundant life He wants to give us. Let’s do that with the expectation that hope will burst into the hearts of us all. 

Declaration:  I am sanctifying this day, making it a day of personal confession and repentance.  I stand in the gap for others so that our country will experience revival of our love of King Jesus.  He created us to live with Him and to bring Him glory, so, I am consecrating my life and bowing down to serve Him in all ways.  Oh, how I love My Lord!

COMING INTO COMPLETION

And the Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants and in the sight of the people. Exodus 11:3 NKJV 

From a created earth with endless possibilities, God formed us and, just like the universe, coded our DNA to be attracted to the next level and to be generally happy with anything related to improvement. 

His people were in captivity in Egyptians, yet He gave them favor until they could get to their next stage of improvement. 

At each unfinished stage, God announces His goodness over you the way He did at the end of each day in the Genesis account. When He sees you complete one small step toward something better, at the end of that day, He declares it monumental and says, “…it is good.” – Genesis 1:21 

Yes, your universe is still expanding. So, why would you dare think it’s OK to not progress and go forward?  On He goes, naturally and supernaturally, creating wonderful things for us to step up into. But what He prepares for us has to be pursued and partnered with. That’s why He made one of His highest honors, to be crowned, upon those who are willing to go after it. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2

He is patient, loving, confident and trusting that we will reach our highest potential. I want to tell you it is not treason to search out the endless heart of this Creator and to go after Him. You are not stupid for wanting better things. 

Declaration:  Gratitude fills my heart because I have a loving Father who wants only the very best for me.  I will not sell out; I will go after the heart of my Father.  I want to pursue all He has for me and bring glory to Him by the way I live my life.

RESCUED TO SET APART

RESCUED TO SET APART

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying:  “I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You.”  Hebrews 2:10-12 NKJV 

I think it is important for you and me as Christians, to live lives that demonstrate how we have been rescued. You show me a person who has been rescued from certain death and I will show you somebody who loves life and wants to live it.  

Nobody comes out from under the rubble of a collapsed building with a bad attitude about what a privilege it is to be alive. 

Just like that, nobody with a real revelation of what it means to be saved or rescued by Christ pines for the good ol’ days and hates living today. I hope it is evident in our relationships and in the way we face the day, that you and I live the lives of rescued people. Jesus Christ has saved us in every way a person can be saved. 
“For whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 

When He rescued us, He accepted us into His family.  He was sent to the world to save us; He was in the world but not of the world.  Once He saves us, He says we are set apart from the world just like He is.  He calls us sanctified.  Look what He said when He taught us to pray. “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  Luke 11:2 NKJV 

Don’t miss that, He said Our Father.  What a glorious honor to be rescued so we can be set apart to be a part of His Family. 

Declaration:   My soul rejoices that I have been rescued and I am part of God’s family.  There is nothing in this world that I want or need any more than I want and need to be close to my Savior.  Today I will live a life that brings glory to my father.

UNITY IN COMMUNITY

I know it’s a difficult day we live in, and I’m sorry that it is. I’m not talking politics about these issues. I’m talking kingdom.  Because politics is in our lane, however, it ends up being political.  I have no agenda to go after anybody’s politics. However, I have to say this: if you’re voting for and promoting socialism, you’re the enemy of freedom. If you’re voting for and promoting this mess that these maniacs are singing about in San Francisco and saying it’s okay for them to come after my kids, no, it’s not okay for them to come after my kids.

We have to be awake to the day that we live in, and we have to be teaching our children the Word of God.  Are we making sure that our kids are in camps this year?  Are we making sure that they’re around godly people? Are we using our community in such a way that we’re building each other up and causing iron to sharpen iron?  Are we helping each other and blessing each other?  Or are we picking each other apart with the things that we don’t agree with?

A true hero in our faith, the Apostle Paul, warned us how to use our freedom.
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Galatians 5:13 NKJV 

When our nation’s birth certificate, the Declaration of Independence was signed, 56 heroes rose up and took a bold step, knowing it could mean a death warrant for each of them. Let us not forget their sacrifice and the spiritual foundation they laid, declaring their motto, “No King but King Jesus,” for He alone brings true freedom and liberty.

Regardless of which person leads our country, we will never be the United States until we bow our knees to our one true King. King Jesus!

Declaration:   My home is in the Kingdom of God, Jesus is my King, and I obey His commandments.  I will not be shaken; I will not be drawn into disorder and chaos. I will make a difference in my community as I walk in the Love of Jesus and boldly proclaim His Good News to those around me.

LEGACY OF LOVE

Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Therefore, whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.  Matthew 10:29-32 NKJV 

God loves each of us so much He even knows the number of hairs on our heads.  We are His offspring.  That gives us great value and should fill us with great hope during these darkening days. 

People are going to ask you why you have so much hope and this is why – because it is supernaturally attractive for you to be full of hope when everybody else is not. You are anointed to be an evangelist in this day simply by not being scared.    

Some say they could never learn the Bible. I could never be full of all kinds of theology.  Number one – that is a lie.  Children can know the Bible. Little bitty hobbits can know the Bible.  That’s one of the things I teach all of my grandkids when they’re little bitty tiny and they’re slobbering all over the place.  I give them a Bible, and I say, “Oh, we love the Bible.”  Then from the time they’re little bitty, every time they get around the Bible, they kiss it. Teach them to love the Word.  

Because God loves us, He gave us the Bible to strengthen us, teach us, and let us see into His heart and His kingdom.  Share it with any children that are in your life; your kids, and also your spiritual sons and daughters.  Knowing the Word of God keeps our feet on solid ground when everything around us is shaking. 

Declaration:  I love the Word of God and have stored it in my mind and my soul.  The words I read are filled with the Holy Spirit and show me wonderful things about My Father.  When the world looks dark, I open the Word and let the Light of Life, My Savior Jesus, shine into my heart.

MY REDEEMER LIVES

“When it comes to time, the two most important days in your life are 
the day you are born, and the day you find out why.”  Mark Twain 

It’s the central theme of the entire Bible. It’s the prophetic story the heavens declare to the glory of God. It’s what Jesus Christ came to bring and who He Himself became—Redemption.   

As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12 NKJV 

Time and space (distance) are in a perfect continuum. When God says He has removed our transgression from all distance, east to west, He is also saying redemption overcomes all time, from the beginning to the end. From our firmament or perspective, the north and south have ending points, the poles. But the east and west do not.  

Why would the Lord specifically remove our sins and throw them as far as the east is from the west—a picture of eternal separation? Because He wants them removed completely so we cannot pick them back up again. When Jesus removes them, He removes them for all time and space.  

There is nothing created that redemption doesn’t change. 

The power of redemption is an awesome resource God brings to the table. The power to buy back those of us who are enslaved isn’t bought with money. Redemption is when Jesus brings Jesus to the table. 

Only Jesus can redeem us. If redemption declares we are not guilty, that means none of the penalties of sin or lawlessness are allowed to chain us or enslave us. No shame, guilt, or feeling the horrible dishonor of deserved judgment belongs to us once redemption comes. 

He redeemed you on purpose for a purpose. He knows your past, and He removed it from your future. He is holding your future in His hand, preserving and protecting it, and waiting for you to find it when you seek Him with all your heart.  Is this the day you will claim your redemption? 

Declaration:  Awe fills my soul when I realize what Jesus did so I could be fully redeemed and restored to claim the purpose He has for me.  I understand the high price He paid for me; my desire is to walk in His Kingdom and fulfill my God-designed purpose.  I won’t turn around, back down, or walk away.  My Redeemer guides my every step.

COME ON IN

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBERS

COME ON IN

This day is marked by the number 29, which means mountains and is associated with hearing God speak and the voice of the Lord.  Often, when we seek God, it is to have Him answer a question.  Everybody has questions. It’s not unholy to ask questions; you just have to ask the right questions. 

 

Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation.  Psalm 24:3-5 NKJV 

“Who may ascend and come into You, God?” it says. Who has permission? Who may, because not everybody may.  Even though everybody is invited, not everybody qualifies to go through the door. What’s real is the answer to the question of who may ascend into the hill of the Lord. Who may? Or who may stand in His holy place? Wherever He shows up becomes a holy place. Who gets to have an audience with the King? Who are those people, and how does that happen?  

So, who has access, who has the right to stand in the presence, and Who is this God we’re all going to have an audience with? ”He who has clean hands and a pure heart,” not he who’s got everything right, not he who is not flawed, not he who has not made mistakes, not he who got in trouble this last year. No, it’s not any of that. You have clean hands and a pure heart when you have not lifted your soul to another god in the form of an idol and if you are not deceitful.   

If that is you, He will say, “Come on in!” If that is not you, the good news is you can confess your deceit, cast your idols out of your life, and ask for His forgiveness with a contrite heart.  Then, He will quickly say, “Come on in!” to you, too. 

Declaration:  The desire of my heart is to be in the Presence of the Lord, closer than I have ever been before.  Today, I have washed my hands and cleaned my heart out and fully repented.  Today, I have sought the Lord and heard Him beckon to me to Come On In! just as He does to all those who truly seek after Him.

HE HAS THE BEST MOVES

HE HAS THE BEST MOVES

The greatest threat to a new move of God is what you think of the last move of God. Did you embrace it so tightly you can’t move on to the new thing He is doing? It’s not about the method of how God moves. It is about God moving and we must be willing to follow Him forward however or wherever He chooses.  

Look at all the different ways Jesus reached the people He came into contact with. From turning water into wine to attaching the ear of Malchus back to his head—from preaching to the crowds to visiting  Zacheus at this house—from  ordering out  demons, to touching  lepers and spitting on dirt to make clay that would open blind eyes, Jesus didn’t do things the same way every time! 

He never used a single method to bring people into the Kingdom. Each method He used was right and very personal, though none of them was the only way to solve the problem. As Jesus’ resurrection would prove, you can’t keep Jesus nailed down or in a box! 

In an exclusive interview with Nicodemus, a Pharisee who had experienced the spirit of religion most of his life, Jesus warned this high-ranking religious authority that He uses creative methods to teach, heal and bring people into the Kingdom. 

The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So, it is with everyone born of the Spirit.  John 3:8 NKJV 

Are you someone who has been told the spirit of religion is the only way to worship? That God no longer heals or works miracles? Are you realizing you have been keeping Jesus in a box and limiting His power or His love for those you don’t like? Today is a good day to break that spirit. Embrace the Holy Spirit and let Him teach you the power and personality of Jesus.  

Declaration:  I declare in Jesus’ name I need a fresh wind. I am stepping into a new season. Lord, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Your love and leading will get me to my purpose and eternal destination!

SETTING MARTHA STRAIGHT

SETTING MARTHA STRAIGHT

Consider carefully how Jesus set Martha straight when He revealed Lazarus would not be dead for very much longer. Lazarus died, but Life showed up. Martha thought she was supposed to wait on some special day to get her miracle. No doubt she had been taught that.  

Jesus let her in on what was going to happen by simply saying, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha then said to Him, “I know that He will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” John 11:24-27 NKJV 

She basically said, “I believe that you’re going to be powerful someday,” but Jesus changed her doctrine by revealing to her that He was powerful right now. He then asked, “Do you believe this?” The Holy Spirit did a work in her as she looked into His incredible Jewish eyes. A revelation landed right in the midst of her heart. “Yes” she said as the light came on, “I believe that you are the Christ, the son of the living God, who is come into the world.”  

Notice the present tense in what she is saying. “You are the Christ,” not “You were the Christ” or “You are going to be the Christ”. She didn’t say, you did come into the world, or you will come into the world. She said you are the son of the living God who is come into the world. 

Jesus revealed His power is present tense. My great desire is that the church would get that revelation. Let’s start with you today.  What is in your life that you have determined will be for some future time based on your beliefs?  Ask Jesus what you don’t know and understand that He wants to reveal to you today.  Honor Him by giving your time and attention so He can reveal wonders to you. 

Declaration:  Wonders beyond my imagination are revealed to me by Jesus.  His salvation has brought me into the Kingdom of God and into the family of The Father.  I have supernatural perception, spiritual eyes, and open ears to receive glorious messages from all the things that come from the voice of God.

WHAT IS YOUR REWARD?

WHAT IS YOUR REWARD?

One of the ways Jesus interacted with people as He walked on Earth was to ask questions.  We know He already knew the answers to the questions.  It wasn’t that He was trying to trip people up; He was trying to make people stop and think.  

Jesus’ first question was, “For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?”  Matthew 5:46 NKJV 

In this great verse, the first question in the four Gospels, Jesus asked a question that is still relevant and important for us to consider today.  A paraphrase of this question is, “Don’t tell me that you’re loving; if you’re loving the same way that the world does, I’m asking you to love in the way that the Father does.”  

The challenge to actually decide who we love and how we love is actually put upon us as our responsibility.  

Now, friends, I can tell you right now that we do not believe that today.  We think in this way, “Hey, it’s on you if I’m going to love you or not.”   This woke generation and what’s being taught all over the world today is this: If I’m mad and upset, it’s your fault.  And then, even if I’m violent against you, you need to know it’s born out of the oppression of the way that you made me feel.  

In the first question in the New Testament, Jesus Christ tells us we are responsible for who we love.  He is saying that we are responsible for what we love.  He is reminding us that who and what we love needs to look a whole lot more like Heaven than it looks like hell.  

We need the fear of God inside our hearts. Ultimately, to me, that means to love what God loves, and hate what God hates.  

He loves people and He hates sin that hurts and destroys their lives.  We are called to love like He does. 

Declaration:  My heart flows with the love of Christ for all people.  I love because He first loved me.  He loved me when my behavior made me unlovable and even unlikeable to other people.  He saw my divine identity and loved me until I could see it for myself.  The Holy Spirit strengthens me, so I love the way He loves and hate only what He hates.
