STOP RUNNING
My Word says you did not choose Me. I chose you. I did. I have chased through the mud and storms to rescue you. Come to Me and learn of a love like you’ve never known.
STOP RUNNINGC.S. Lewis called King Jesus “the hound of heaven.” King David said, “even if I make my bed in hell, there You are.” Ask God to show you how He’s chased you down because, if you’re not convinced that He has, He has. You’re just not seeing it.
Yes, I’ve learned to pursue things because the Lord God blesses pursuit. Religion will tell you to wait and do nothing. Religious folk will use this scripture to justify their inability to act or get involved:
“Those that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength…” – Isaiah 40:31
Waiting doesn’t mean inactivity.
When you go to a restaurant you have a waiter or a waitress. Waiting means serving, going after it, being consecrated and being somebody going after the presence of God in a radical way.
A good waiter or waitress will be watching, looking to see if you might need something from them. They are checking the status of your request and preparing things you may need like ketchup, salad dressing, or more water.
When the time comes, they are quick to deliver your request. Now that you understand waiting is not just hanging out while time passes, but is actually serving, let me ask you this: Are you waiting on God?
Have you prepared anything for when the time comes? When God asks you to act – and He will – are you ready? Have you fortified yourself with His full armor? Is your oil lamp empty or full?
It’s one thing to believe in God. It’s another to want to be used by Him and for His glory. Here’s where it gets deep my friends: are you content to sit and watch God work, or do you want to partner with Him to actually make a difference? Stop running, allow Him to catch you.

EXTENDING A LASTING LEGACY
I don’t just love you today. You are My forever love. That means I don’t just love you, but those who come after you. Your heritage is My heritage and your legacy is My family. Love them well. Bring them to My table and we will eat together.
EXTENDING A LASTING LEGACYOther than John 3:16, I would say this is the most quoted verse in the Bible, and mostly because it’s all about us:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
The word “thoughts” is interchangeable with the word “plans.” Yup, God has a plan for you.
He wants you to have great hope for where your life will end up. Not just great hope for Him showing up where you’re at right now, but God wants you to have great hope for where your life will finally finish.
Here’s what’s real: Paupers and people who are dirt poor only think about how they can survive. Rich people and kings worry about their legacy – what they will leave behind to enrich future generations.
Now, I’m not talking about money. I’m talking about identity. If you are a king, you are somebody who is supposed to constantly consider your bloodline and your legacy. Are your kids saved and walking with the Lord? Is your marriage a rock-solid example? Is your work ethic strong and your business dealings full of integrity? Are you a person known for kindness, truth and generosity?
And here’s the biggie: Are you a drop-dead, sold-out Jesus freak who is passionately in love with God? You should be.
The Kingdom should be better off because you are trusted with it, and you have to be intentional about that. You have to purpose yourself to be a lasting example of Jesus to others. It’s not easy, but it is worth it. Get with the plan. Be an influence that extends right thinking, hope, and a lasting legacy to the next generation.
His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. – Psalm 112:2

YOU’VE BEEN INVITED
My promises are “Yes” and “Amen.” Amen means “let it be done.” When you come into deeper relationship with Me, you qualify to hear both yes and amen. I Am offering you upgrade. Is your answer “Yes” and “Amen”?
YOU’VE BEEN INVITEDThe place of intimacy and special privilege relationship with God is called the “secret place.” You don’t have to be a Bible scholar to be invited into the secret place. In fact, all are invited, but few go.
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” – Psalms 91:1-2
Psalms 91 is all about a special verbally-activated covenant of security in the midst of a very dangerous world. It actually starts off saying this covenant is reserved for people who can be intimate with God.
If you are not careful, your focus on task and achievement will interfere with the secret place. What’s that all about?
This is the difference between Martha and Mary. Martha was awesome but she was refusing the upgrade to being a friend because she prized her status as a servant.
There’s a big upgrade from being a servant to a friend – that’s a different kind of relationship. There’s a big upgrade from being a friend to being family – that’s a son. Then there’s a big difference from being a son to becoming a bride.
Friends are all about taking on His priorities. Sons are about becoming a co-heir with Jesus. Brides are about covenant in whole-hearted identity in Jesus. Now, all of this is about the secret place. It’s about the level of intimacy with Jesus you go after.
Want security in a dangerous world? You need a covenant that only comes with intimacy. You’ve been invited, now go!

GROW INTO YOUR DESTINY
While I love you as My child, I have built you to be an heir. You have been called into the family by your Brother Jesus. It’s time to put away childish things and enter into the promises I have for you.
GROW INTO YOUR DESTINYGod’s purpose Is to not only make us children of God, He wants to make us into fully developed sons of God.
Being His “child” means love and acceptance. There are times in your life you want to be grabbed up and held by your Father and there’s nothing wrong with that. He’s given you the power to live there, but He doesn’t want to you stay there.
What? No, God’s not kicking you out of the nest. He wants to see you mature as sons and daughters – someone who walks on the frontline. He needs you to become someone who carries the word, the truth, and the power of God.
This is all about you making a difference and becoming a warrior for Christ. This is more than an upgrade because you get to be both!
If I’m having a bad day, I get to crawl on my Daddy’s lap and go, “Daddy, please love me,” and I can be a child.
But there are other days when He’ll call me and say, “Today, I need you to be a son. There’s a battle I’m going to send you out into.” We live in the paradox of both of those.
Jesus has upgraded us to the level of relationship He has – and has always had – with the Father.
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” – John 15:9
Are you a child? It’s time to climb off Daddy’s lap and into upgrade. You can sit with Him any time you want, but Jesus paid a big price for you to be able to share His inheritance – His special connection to the Father. Grow up and grow into your destiny.

THE SCARIEST VERSE IN THE BIBLE
Friendship works two ways. I seek your presence, you seek Mine. If I’m always chasing you, we have no relationship. I Am your Father, your Brother and your friend. Seek Me while I may be found.
THE SCARIEST VERSE IN THE BIBLEI once heard a preacher say the scariest verse in the Bible is where David says, “And take not thy Holy Spirit from me.” That preacher then went on to tell everybody if they weren’t good enough, they could lose the Holy Spirit.
WHAT?!? My friends, that’s not true. Remember, David was alive long before Jesus and the Holy Spirit came onto the scene. He only had the visitation of the Holy Spirit, not the indwelling you and I have today.
So, what is the scariest thing in the Bible? In this hillbilly’s opinion, it’s when we’re not seeking the Lord because we’re distracted with the cares of the world and, when He shows up, we don’t know He’s there.
It reminds me of the story of the two men of God that were walking along the road to Emmaus and Jesus showed up. He was talking with them, but because they weren’t seeking Him, they didn’t recognize He was right there the whole time.
When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” – Luke 24:31-32
When Jesus is around, He brings a supernatural kind of passion. If you’ve never felt that, you need to experience His presence. You’ve missed incredible opportunities where Jesus wanted to meet you but you were too busy doing something else.
Let me tell you, distraction leads to dullness, then doubt, then despair and finally, disbelief. That’s not for you!
Seek Jesus and seek Him often. He promises to be found by you. He will give you righteousness and you’ll recognize Him the next time He shows up.

THE WARRIOR BRIDE: The fight for our role as the modern-day Church.
SUNDAY, MAY 16, 2021
Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX
Matthew 5:3-16 – “Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
The importance of the role of the church is that “they may see our good deeds and glorify our father in heaven….”
A few months back, an unprecedented weather event put the people of North Texas in a serious crises. We called it the iceapocalypse. Some called it “Ice-Mageddon.”
It got colder than ever recorded in these parts–below zero with the wind chill factored in–and lasted longer than ever before–205 consecutive hours at or below freezing 10 p.m. Feb. 10 through 11 a.m. Feb. 19 (new record).
For nearly a week, and in some cases longer, people were without electricity and unable to warm themselves or their homes. It was a huge frozen mess.
We saw it as a great opportunity to help our neighbors in need, and tried our best to dismiss the inconvenience and just went after it. In some cases, we were in over our head and in some cases, we were right at home because we know that the role of the body of Christ is to answer evil with the goodness of God.
The first thing we did was unite with our local city officials to see how we could help. We have some amazing leaders who care about this city and the people in it.
The second thing we did was unite with the courageous efforts of the local churches and Christian community to rescue, house, feed, protect, comfort and serve any person, or any group of people, who needed that help.
What we saw was something beautiful, helpful, and critically needed. The response to a life-threatening crisis was incredible.
This is the role of the body of Jesus. This is what it looks like when the church is a clearly the good guys.
Romans 12:21 – Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
When we help the helpless, heal the hurting and meet the needs of people in crisis, we are not doing that to get people to come to church. We do this because we are the church. This is how we fulfill our role as Christians.
Today’s message is called “The Warrior Bride” and I want to address our fight to fulfill the role of the church in this modern day.
Isaiah 54:5 – For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth He is called
When we are redeemed and made beautiful, we are known as the Bride of Christ.
Ephesians 5:27 – So that He might present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.
Prophetically expressing the heart of Jesus to the church, King Solomon says:
Song of Songs 4:7 – You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.
Your bride is the love of your life. Your bride is who you share everything you have with. Your bride is who you honor, cherish and give your name. In this respect, I sign up whole-heartedly for the bride thing.
Jesus, as our husband, is described as a loving warrior king.
Unlike Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Leonidas, who were only on major steroids, Jesus doesn’t sit on a throne and send you into battle. He goes into battle first and says, “Follow me.”
Jesus is a warrior. He’s not just the lamb; He is also the Lion.
If Jesus is going to be compatible with us, you and I must be compatible with the warrior side of Jesus.
So, for Jesus to be “equally yoked,” He looks for His bride to be unlike any other you’ve ever seen. Jesus likes a warrior bride.
As a warrior, you and I have to think differently. A warrior’s mentality says, “The battle must be won.” A warrior’s attitude says, “It’s not about convenience. It’s about commitment.” A warrior’s way of thinking is not about personal comfort but about Kingdom advancement. A warrior says, “There are certain things that will not happen on my watch.”
When you and I are feeding more than a hundred thousand people here locally, and at least 10-times more throughout the world every year, that’s you and I being the warrior bride.
When we feed and care for the homeless, as we are on this very day in Fort Worth and have been doing consistently for more than 30 years in the same exact parking lot– that’s us the warrior bride.
When we rescue thousands and thousands of boys and girls out of sexual slavery throughout the world, that’s what a warrior bride looks like.
When we stand for babies and revile abortion, when we champion the widow and stand with the abused–when we stand for our freedom and condemn restrictions of worship–that is you and I being the warrior bride.
Other local churches being the warrior bride
I want to encourage you in the good fight of faith as a warrior bride, because our faith walk is not a cake walk. It’s a fight of Faith.
1 Timothy 6:12 – Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12 (The Amplified Bible) – Fight the good fight of the faith in the conflict with evil]; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and [for which] you made the good confession [of faith] in the presence of many witnesses.
Part of the big fight of faith is to make sure we have many witnesses to how we confess our faith.
How do we fearlessly demonstrate our calling and openly confess our faith?
This is a good day for you to have enough courage to take decisive action. I know the economy is scary and the political environment of the whole world is unstable, but remember you’re not a victim. You are an overcomer. Not a worrier but a warrior.
How do we navigate through a Christian culture in such a political time?
There are so many who would have you and I as Christians neutered of our right to vote and run for office–to actually have no place or voice in our community.
We have to fight for our voice and our place in society. We must insist that we have the answer and are a valuable part of the solution.
Our saltiness, our flavor, is our influence.
That means every part of society, government, media and business.
The myth and the propaganda lie of separation of church and state is that christians should have no place in our government or society. The truth is, separation of church and state is the idea that in America ungodly rulers should never be able to legislate their immorality upon us as citizens.
SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE IS NOT IN THE CONSTITUTION. IT’S NOT! With that said, America was founded by Christians who were not willing to let the state influence the church. America was founded expressly for the church to influence and guide the state!
That’s the truth.
TRUTH SOUNDS LIKE HATE TO THOSE WHO HATE THE TRUTH.
We didn’t get into their lane. They got into ours and began to tell us, when we could have church, if we could have church, how many people were allowed to be at church and, in the name of contact tracing, began to demand we report our membership to the government. That’s going on right here in the United States. It’s even more prevalent in Canada, Australia, Great Britain and other nations who were once freedom-loving democracies.
The government got into our lane when they began to legislate perverse sexual training for elementary children and demand that we perform Christian weddings for non- Christian people.
They got into our lane when they insisted we call the truth a lie and a lie the truth. When they began to fire us as Christians from our jobs and kick our kids out of school for wearing a Christian T Shirt–when they began to call us racists for standing for the Pledge of Allegiance–they got into our lane.
There are those among us in our local, state and our federal government who not only do not appreciate our selfless stance to make a difference, they are outright hostile against it. They do not want Christian participation at all, and condemn and accuse us in our efforts because they fear our our influence. They want to silence our voice.
When local city officials–our trusted city officials–are caught on tape talking about the church’s rapid response in this city to the Icepocalypse as a “threat to the safety minorities,” the have jumped into our lane.
The local church of every denomination stood together as Christians and didn’t refuse anyone. Its ridiculous, uncalled for and demonic to suggest that we would not have taken them in, fed them, protected them and not accepted them.
It’s a lie.
“What about the people the church doesn’t accept? What about them? I’m not having kids die because they are gay.” And she named OpenDoor Church.
I don’t know what the politics or the self-identity of the kids we helped was because we didn’t ask them. None of them died on our watch. Just like the OpenDoor Food Bank, just like the homeless outreach, just like our freedom houses all over the world.
The churches of Burleson, the Jeep Club, the mayor and city officials OpenDoor Church worked with each other to bring relief to anyone who needed it—no questions asked. They cared about nothing else but loving people through the Icepocalypse and beyond. No judgment. We weren’t there to preach to anybody. We where there to keep them from dying. We were there to keep them warm and fed.
And we did our job. This is the role of the church.
It’s sad that we have to fight our own government for our role to selflessly serve people.
The First Amendment makes it clear that America is founded on freedom. It literally says we have the freedom “of and from” religion. While the churches of Burleson, the mayor and many city officials chose to practice their freedom “of” religion by banding together through a crisis for the good of all, others chose to exercise their freedom “from” religion by demanding warming shelters in city facilities.
They say things like:
“KEEP POLITICS OUT OF THE PULPIT”
Well, here’s what we say to that.
NO!
Silence is not an option for us as Christians.
We are the house of God, not a box of crickets.
We are not a social club or a cruise ship. We’re not here for your comfort or entertainment. We’re a battleship. OpenDoor is a bunch of drop-dead, sold-out Jesus freaks meeting the needs of people and helping those in need. We’ve been giving out millions of pounds of food to hundreds of thousands of people—no questions asked—every year for 25 years.
We’ve been serving the homeless on East Lancaster Street, again, no questions asked. We love those people. We honor them and we thank them for coming. We treat them like kings and queens and we have been doing that for over 30 years. We’ve never stopped or taken a break. That is what Jesus looks like. He fed the 5,000 and the only qualification was they be there and hungry.
It’s sad that the American church as a whole has earned a reputation for being religious and caring more about rules than people. I think that is changing in America and throughout the world. I know it has changed here in Burleson. Churches here are not about competition. We’re about unity with each other, the city and schools. With the people. There’s a place for us all inside and outside of government. Inside and outside of church.
We will:
VOICE AND VOTE CHRISTIAN, BIBLICAL VALUES
And we will not apologize for it.
It’s not our fault that the new hip trend in political leadership is to
champion everything your Bible condemns. We didn’t pick that fight.
“THIS IS NOT ABOUT LEGISLATING MORALITY. IT’S ABOUT STOPPING THE LEGISLATION OF IMMORTALITY.”
It’s about us maintaining the privilege to be part of the solution in our society and they will deny it if we are silent.
This is a great opportunity….

DEMONSTRATE JESUS!
Looking at you is like looking in a mirror. I Am so pleased when you give to the poor, when you love the unlovely and when you testify to My goodness. Your demonstration of My love speaks more to the lost than you know. I see Myself in you.
DEMONSTRATE JESUS!You get Jesus into any situation by serving Him in that situation – even if that situation is a big old mess. Here’s what I mean:
If you want Jesus in your thought-life, serve Him in your thought-life. Make a list of distractions or ungodly thoughts that ensnare you and refuse to go there. When one of those unwanted thoughts – say anger, lust or self-pity – pop up, don’t panic. Simply have another thought!
If you want Jesus in your want-life, serve Him in your want-life. Some people call this “delayed gratification” but the Bible calls it “self-control.” You have to know what’s good for you and what’s not. You have to understand timing.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7
By the way guys, you do want Jesus in your want-life. You also want a holy want-life. Otherwise, you’ll always want things that will kill you.
If you want Jesus in your finances, serve Him in your finances. That’s all about tithing from your income, sowing extra money into Kingdom projects and being what I call a crazy-cool giver. It’s about stewarding your money and not blowing it on your want-life.
If you want Him in your marriage, serve Him in your marriage. Get up every morning determined to love your spouse more that you love yourself. Be faithful, respectful, kind and selfless to that person. Speak words of identity and destiny to and about them, and never, never tear them down.
I can go on and on, but that leads me to the ultimate conclusion and it’s this: Serving is power because serving is demonstrating Jesus. Do you want to the power to overcome the mess in your mind, your money and your marriage? Demonstrate Jesus! It’s really that simple.

MIRACLES, MANNA AND MERCY
Blessed are those who believe and have not seen Me. Did you know My angels and all of Heaven marvel that you have not seen My face, yet you have faith? You are not looking for a sign but rely on My Holy Spirit to speak into you. Your faith makes Heaven smile.
MIRACLES, MANNA AND MERCYA very influential Bible scholar once said, “Our mind cannot find a comparison too large for expressing the super-abundant mercy of the Lord toward His people.” I cannot tell you how much hope that gives me!
That’s something we can’t explain – His mercy. It’s undeserved, unmerited, and unlimited. It’s ultimately personal and unexplainable. It’s the New Testament version of manna.
“And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as the frost on the ground. So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was…And the house of Israel called its name Manna. And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.” – Exodus 16:14-15, 31
Manna is the Hebrew word for, “What is that?” In Spanish, you would say, “Que pasa?” These people didn’t know what to do with food that falls from the sky so they asked the basic question and it stuck. Every day for 40 years in the wilderness, they ate it and couldn’t describe what in the world was keeping them alive. The just knew it was miraculous.
Have you ever been in a wilderness experience with God where you didn’t know what was going on? All you knew was God was sustaining you and you didn’t have any way to explain it? That’s manna.
Manna – or God’s unwavering mercy – always happens right before you go into the promise. So, if you’re experiencing that right now, there is a day the manna will cease and you will cross the Jordan. Now, it’s not a bad thing to have the manna cease – to have His mercy cease over a certain area of your life. That means you’ve got your act together and no longer need it.
Where are you seeing God’s super-abundant mercy in your life? Be intentional and get your act together in that place. Manna is awesome, but it’s not God’s best for you. Constantly needing His mercy and the miracles that come with it means you’re a mess.
His best for you is you getting into alignment for your assignment. Que pasa? Step toward the Promised Land and you’ll find out.

The Spirit of Prophecy
Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021
Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX
The way I see it, this year is very much like Mark chapter 4.
Kingdom leaders in this new era are a tangible, peaceful, non-anxious presence in the midst of chaos and instability.
Jehovah Shalom (our peace) doesn’t show up until Gideon goes to war.
Anybody who shrinks back during this time, the Lord is not pleased with them.
When the world says, “No! No! No!” God says, “Go! Go! Go!”
Suffering and giants are going to be our bread.
Revelation 19:9-10 – And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
The worship of the saintsThe very last verse of 1st John says
1 John 5:21 – Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
It’s one thing to have a hero. It’s another thing to have an idol.
Peter got in bad trouble from God himself by trying to deify Moses and Elijah
Matthew 17:4 – Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Cornelius went to worship Peter one time
Acts 10:26 – But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
WHEN Paul was getting worshipped by Pagans of his day, his response is found in vrs 14 of chapter 14 it says that he and Barnabas screamed and tore their clothes.
Acts 14:15 – And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
Paul and Silas didn’t tear their clothes when the people spoke of stoning them, imprisoning them or killing them. But when they spoke of worshiping them, they said that’s it! I can’t stand it anymore.
So here in Revelation we have a fellow servant of the Lord speaking to John. We would to do well to heed his voice the next time you feel like bowing to a statue or praying to a saint see thou do it not!!! – Mizner, Wilson (1876-1933)
Wilson Mizner was a U.S. PLAY writer and gambler. On his deathbed, he briefly regained consciousness before dying and found a priest standing over him. Mizner waved the priest away saying, “Why should I talk to you? I’ve just been talking to your boss.”
NEVER EVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, ACCEPT A SUBSTITUTE FOR JESUS
1 Timothy 2:5 – “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
THE VICAR OF CHRIST – THE POPE’S TITLE
Vicar means “substitute”
V I C A R I U S
5 1 100 0 0 1 5 0 = 112
F I L I I
0 1 50 1 1 = 53
D E I
500 0 1 = 501
112+53+501=666
But lets go back:
Revelation 19:10 – I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Those who have the testimony of Jesus also have the Spirit of prophecy:
YOUR TESTIMONY IS NOT WHAT DID BEFORE YOU WERE SAVED.
YOUR TESTIMONY IS WHO YOU SAY JESUS IS.
When the testimony of Jesus shows up, the Spirit of Prophecy shows up.
Prophecy is
Supernatural discernment
Supernatural proclamation that changes things and puts things into motion
The God-given ability to know what God is speaking
Supernaturally releasing God’s heart
…and much more
Acts chapter 2:16-18 – But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
HANDMAIDENS & MANSERVANTS – NON-BELIEVERS? GENTILES?
1 Corinthians 14:1 – Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
1 Corinthians 14:39 – Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy
1 Corinthians 12:8 – For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit
The ability to know things by the Spirit of God
The ability to speak wise words by the spirit of God
When Jesus shows up the Spirit of Prophecy shows up.
That’s why in the Christmas story…
WHY ISN’T THERE MORE PROPHECY IN CHURCHES?
WHY ISN’T THERE MORE JESUS IN CHURCHES?
WITH THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY: Prophecy exhorts, edifies and comforts.
1 Corinthians 14:3 – But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
It says that Mary was filled with the Holy Ghost and she prophesied.
That’s why it says when Mary ran into Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, she prophesied!
That’s why it says when Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, finally got with God’s program for his life, he prophesied.
Guys, if you would, open up your Bible to Luke chapter 1? I want to show you what Zacharias said when the testimony of Jesus and the spirit of prophecy moved upon him.
Luke 1:67-74 – And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, 68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, 69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; 70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: 71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; 72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; 73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, 74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
I want to focus on this last verse
God wants you to serve Him in the things He has delivered you from.
