WHAT DO YOU WANT?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have only the best for you in mind. Partner with Me and together we’ll have a life like you never imagined. See things from My perspective and you will want Kingdom things.

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Your want-life needs to be full of the Holy Spirit. There’s nothing wrong with having things you want in the natural, but you have to be careful you’re not wanting a lot of stuff that doesn’t matter.

Do you want that new car, or do you want to witness to the guy selling the car? When the world we know comes to an end, that car won’t matter. God has no problem with you getting a new car. However, you need to renew your mind, Romans 12:2, to want what He wants.

First, you need to turn up your want-life for Him. Then, in doing that, He gives you all these permissions. Here’s an example: I love it when God answers my prayers, but when God starts answering things I didn’t pray, that gets my attention.

What is that? He’s giving me the desires of my heart. I’m serving Him in the desires of my heart.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. – Psalms 37:4

When you partner with God in your want-life, that’s the kind of coolness that begins to happen.

“My soul follows hard after You, your right hand uphold me…” – Psalms 63:8

“Your right hand uphold me” means that God has given you strength. Why? Because your soul follows hard after Him. Every time you pursue, God supernaturally supports how you pursue Him.

When you were a kid, did you ever chase that cute girl or boy around the playground? Yes, she ran, but she kinda wanted you to catch her? When you pursue and chase after God, He wants you to catch Him, I promise. Once that happens, goodness and mercy shall follow you (Psalm 23:6).

REFUSE TO BE OFFENDED

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am a sovereign God. My ways and thoughts are higher than yours. Believe Me when I tell you I work all things for your good because that is who I Am. I Am good.

REFUSE TO BE OFFENDED

There’s an amazing woman in the Bible. She wasn’t a Jew, but she was following King Jesus looking for a word. She needed healing and was desperate. What did Jesus do? He called her a dog.

Look it up! It’s in the Bible. She was so persistent, she was getting on the disciples’ nerves. Jesus picked up that vibe and He’s like, “Watch how the disciples approve of me offending this person because she’s not only a woman but a Gentile.”

So Jesus says, “Excuse me, ma’am. I don’t really have anything for you because what I have is for the children of God and not for dogs.”

Ladies, would that sit right for you? You go to Jesus and you think He’s the most magnificent person in the world. You think He’s the most beautiful thing ever. You know He’s the Son of God, you know He has life and He says, “Uh, sorry! I don’t have anything for dogs.”

Here’s what that woman said: “You’re calling me a dog? Well, that means I get to sit under Your table and eat the crumbs that fall off.” She refused to leave. She refused to think Jesus wasn’t good after all.

He didn’t say that to humiliate her but to expose the fact she refused to be offended. She was going to seek Him and seek Him until she finally got something. Then He turns around to disciples and He’s like, “Boom! Look at this lady! I wish you guys were like her.”

I love that story. It’s offensive yet, heaven invades earth in that place. So, what about you? Do you let yourself get offended by the Bible, the preacher, the people sitting next to you or the pastor on TV? Do you get offended at God when He doesn’t answer your prayers when or how you thought He would?

Remember, God is good despite what your eyes see. He has something for you and even His crumbs are better than anything this world has to offer. Refuse to be offended.

“And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” – Luke 7:23

WE’RE COUNTING ON YOU

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You are an important piece of My plan. When My body is working together, I can accomplish so much more. Acts 2:1 says, “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.” I need you in the Church. Your gifts and calling are yours alone.

WE’RE COUNTING ON YOU

Following Jesus is a two part commitment. You are called to love Him and join His body of worshippers – the church. I call that “relationship” with God and “fellowship” with the church, and it’s a wonderful thing, except for when it’s not.

It is the relationship with other Christians that isn’t always wonderful.

Now, I have good friends that are kingdom-minded Christians and they maintain healthy Christian relationships without going to church very often. They stay connected to the body through service or ministries. These few people are the exception to the rule.

Most Christians need to attend church even if they don’t believe they do!

The New Testament never divides Christians into church members and non-church members. All the way through, it assumes that everybody participates in the local assembly. It gives no examples of Christians who belong to the “universal church,” but have no link to the local church.

Any idea of enjoying salvation and being a Christian in isolation is just plain foreign to the New Testament. Christians met regularly. Any time Paul made new converts, he immediately organized them into a little church. The next thing he did was ordain pastors not only to feed and lead those congregations, but put them in order.

For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you. – Titus 1:5

The reason is because the church must work together to carry out God’s purposes. It’s not a hard thing to understand, but so many Christians miss this! They fool themselves into thinking that salvation is the end of things, when it’s the beginning!

Renew your passion for fellowship. Know that we need you in the Body of Christ. You have a purpose I don’t. Come fulfill it! We’re counting on you.

FREEDOM IS A CALLING

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I love you. I want you to live free! I could have made you to love Me, but I needed it to be your choice. Choose life.

FREEDOM IS A CALLING

Do not give up your liberty. Live life until your spirit, mind, and heart get lined up with what God says. That’s what it means to stick with Jesus.

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” – Galatians 5:13

Freedom is a calling. A calling has to be heeded and developed. The Bible says the gifts and callings are without repentance. If God Almighty called you as a child to do something for Him, He hasn’t taken away that calling. It’s up to you whether you walk in it or not.

It’s up to you whether you conform your life to it. It’s not up to anybody else. You are free to do anything, though not everything is beneficial for you.

All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. – 1 Corinthians 10:23

If you like pork ribs, there’s nothing wrong with that unless it offends the person you’re having lunch with. You need to come to an understanding that “it’s not always about me.” You are called to a ministry of reconciliation – to bring others to a right relationship with Christ no matter how it affects your flesh.

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. – 2 Corinthians 5:18

Just because you have freedom, friend, doesn’t make it okay to live all willy nilly. You can live for Christ without giving up your freedom. If you renew your mind like Romans 12:2 tells you to, you will want what He wants – His will on earth as it is in Heaven.

OBEDIENCE IS KEY

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am the Alpha and Omega. I have seen the big picture. Trust Me. I know My plans for you. I will work all things together for your good because you love me. I have called to according to My purposes.

OBEDIENCE IS KEY

Success is not success in itself. Success is in the fruit. It’s that you obeyed the Lord. Here’s what religion won’t tell you: God has not called you to be successful in all things. He’s called you to be fruitful in all things.

The reason you need to know that, is so you can believe you’re not going to get into trouble when you fail. There are great women and men of God in the Muslim world who are having to lay down their life for their faith in Jesus. Were they successful in reaching their city? No. Were they successful in saving their families? No. Does the Lord Jesus call them a failure? No

They’re filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. They’re hanging in there. They’re not bailing. The Lord does not judge success and failure the way man judges does. As soon as you get that, you won’t be afraid to get out there and go after the next thing.

There will be many times God will ask something of you that doesn’t make sense. When Saul of Tarsus was saved on the road to Damascus and was waiting on Straight Street, you know Ananias was asking God, “You want me to do what?!?” That’s in Acts 9:9-17.

Nevertheless, Ananias was obedient and did what God told him to do. Later, he baptized Saul as he transitioned into Paul the apostle who went on to write a good portion of the New Testament.

To obtain that level of trust in God, you must spend time with Him. If my best friend tells me to do something weird, no questions, chances are I’ll do it. If someone I just met tells me to do anything, no questions, they may get a different result. God has only good things for His children. He will not ask something of you without giving you the will to do it. It’s on you to trust Him.

If you love me, keep my commandments. – John 14:15

DO THE RIGHT THING

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have given you My Word to get to know Me. Learn of My ways and renew your mind. If you need help, ask. I’m here waiting.

DO THE RIGHT THING

One thing that happens when you begin pursuing God’s will is you believe you won’t get in trouble. If you think that God can only be good when you’re being good, you have a religious spirit. That makes you brother Cain when he said, “God’s going to show up because I gave Him this really cool sacrifice. It isn’t what He wants, but it doesn’t matter. I’m going to bring Him what I want, the way I want to bring it. It doesn’t matter.”

The mindset that “I’ve been good so God has to be good to me” is Cain. That is not Abel. You have to trust in the character of God and believe you’re not going to get into trouble if everything is not right. That’s what Abel did. If you’re saved, you’re covered by the blood of the Jesus. You’re supposed to go after things and you will fail.

If you start stepping off into things, you’re going to come into scenarios that don’t go very well. Step off anyway. The important thing is you’re going after it. Friend, if what you are pursuing is of the Kingdom, you are not alone. You have the help and direction of God through the Holy Spirit. We can’t fail if we trust Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6

He knows your motives. God knows what’s in your heart before you do. Able was pure in his offering, thus being accepted by God. Get in tune with creator God. If you do, Psalms 37:4 says He will give you the desires of your heart. Now, that doesn’t mean He will always give you anything you want. It means He will put the desires in you.

The desire to trust, obey and believe in the Word of the Lord is the first desire you’ll get. Then you can be like Abel and do the right thing.

WHATCHA DOING?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I had a plan when I sacrificed My only Son for you.  I have saved you for a purpose. Trust that. Learn of My ways and co-labor with Me. I promise you won’t regret it.

WHATCHA DOING?

Once you start pursuing the heart of Jesus with all your might, you’re going to start pursuing excellence. Pursuing excellence is a matter of a whole-hearted endeavor. Just ask Solomon.

“Whatever you find to do, do it with all your heart.” – Ecclesiastes 9:10

Along the same lines, Deuteronomy 6 and Matthew 23 say, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind…”  When you get to know His heart, your desires will become His desires and vice-versa.

To prove the point, one of my favorite scriptures is what one leper says to another as they’re sitting by the gate to the city begging:

“Why should we sit here, waiting to die?” – 2 Kings 7:3

Sometimes, there needs to be a moment of clarity. “I have been sitting here for ten years, waiting on this thing to change and it hasn’t changed. I’m not sitting here anymore. I have to do something different. I’ve got to get up and show my intention to fight. I have to repent of sitting here and calling it holiness.”

Inactivity is not holiness. Heaven is such a busy place and the Spirit of God is crazy busy. It’s hard to decipher at times whether or not we should “wait on God” not doing anything or “take an action to co-labor.” Yes, there’s a big difference.

It’s important to have a personal relationship with Him so you can simply ask if He wants you to wait or work with Him for a result. He will direct your paths, which is Proverbs 3:6.

He has chosen you to be a star player on His team. Wait when needed. Observe, learn and grow. When you know His Spirit has asked you to move, move with boldness and authority–trusting that He has gone before you.

If whatever you find to do, you do it with all your heart, it makes no difference if you clean toilets, preach from a nice pulpit or fly a jet plane for the military. You are doing as if you are doing it for Him.

OPEN YOUR EYES

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have created you with a special purpose. No one can be a better at what I have for you than you. I will put desires in your heart and you are to search them out. Use your gifts for My Kingdom.

OPEN YOUR EYES

God does not hide things from us. He hides things for us. But if you fold your arms and say, “Pastor Troy, if God’s not going to just tell me, I’m not seeking,” you’re going to have problems. Need an example?

God caused human beings to want gold. Gold is a yellow rock. Yet, God Almighty hid the yellow rock inside other rocks. The only way you can find it is to bust up some rocks. That’s the Kingdom.

It is the glory of God to conceal a thing but the honor of kings to search out the matter. –  Proverbs 25:2

You are beginning to step into majesty when you search and pursue, when you go after things. God doesn’t see you as a loser. He sees you as a King, so He expects you to go after things. He will use your individual gifts and talents for His Kingdom and your destiny.

Say you have a talent for music and playing instruments. God may lead you toward leading worship. You may have a love for children. The nursery at your church may benefit from your skills. What is it your heart wants? Chase that dream.

Once you begin to seek your part in the Kingdom, God will reveal tid-bits to advance your search. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 14:1 says to “Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.”

You have to go after it. This is the New Testament where you desire and pursue. You need to pay attention to what your desires, or your want-life, is all about. Be careful that you don’t get fascinated with somebody else’s something. God has enough and a plan just for you, so search it out. It’s so worth it!
