SEEK AND STAND
I have given you a territory to conquer, hearts to speak to and lives to change with the message of My love. I have given you a place of right standing in My Kingdom. You have all you need to bring heaven to earth.
SEEK AND STANDThe Kingdom is all about the God-given ability to be able to stand in a place and say, “I can’t believe I’m standing here!” The Bible says in Matthew 6:33,
“But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” – Matthew 6:33
There’s actually a couple of different parts of this. First, is to seek. That means to pursue or chase after something until you see it.
Second is the Kingdom. You should not be seeking after riches, fame, power, position, relationships – all those are things of the world. The Word says if you seek after His Kingdom – the things that are important to God, which means God Himself – He will add “all these things unto you.”
“Pastor Troy, what kind of things is He talking about because I’d like a new TV and an RV would be really nice.” While God does care about you getting your hearts desire, He’s more concerned about you getting His heart’s desire. He’ll add your identity, purpose and destiny and it might just include a few of the things in that list above.
Finally, once you’re going after His Kingdom, make sure you understand that you have a place in that Kingdom. I mean a place where you can stand. Think about this: righteousness is defined as “right standing.”
You don’t just seek the Kingdom and go, “Yeah, but I don’t deserve to be here.” You seek the Kingdom and say with conviction, “Lord, here I am.” When you seek and you stand, He can – and will – add unto you.

GOD WITH US 2 – Here and There
Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021
Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX
The expression is related to real estate. When investing in real estate, there are three things that comprise the most important considerations. What are those three essential considerations? LOCATION, LOCATION and LOCATION. It is hyperbole. The point is, location is so vital to real estate, it takes up the top three spots on the list of things you must consider.
“LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION”
is also a KINGDOM principle
This year, God is highlighting the importance of unity and stewarding your proximity when it comes to right relationships.
Who you stand next to is huge in this hour we are living in.
Israel, land of the Bible and the historic homeland of the Jewish people, is situated in the Middle East, along the eastern coastline of the Mediterranean Sea. It forms part of a land bridge linking three continents: Asia, Africa and Europe.
From there, the apostles could could go north, south, east and west, and carry the Gospel and the Good News of Jesus to everyone everywhere on the earth.
Being at the right place and the right time with the right heart is everything in the Kingdom when it comes to being in synch with God
Your IDENTITY, PURPOSE and ASSIGNMENT
is who God created you to be, what you are supposed to do, what you are supposed to be part of. The WHERE and WHEN is crucial to the effectiveness of that calling.
We have to make sure we are partnering with God in the timing of things–especially being at the right place among the right people.
Location. Location. Location.
Quantum mechanics:
About 80 years ago, scientists discovered it is possible to be in two locations at the same time — at least for an atom or a subatomic particle, such as an electron. For such tiny objects, the world is governed by a madhouse set of physical laws known as quantum mechanics. At that size range, every bit of matter and energy exists in a state of blurry flux, allowing it to occupy not just two locations but an infinite number of them simultaneously.
God can be in lots of different places at the same exact time. Here, there, now, later and way back when, all at the same time.
Psalm 139:7-10 – “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.”
Jeremiah 23:23-24 – God said, “‘Am I only a God nearby,’ declares the Lord, ‘and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do not I fill heaven and earth?’ declares the Lord.”
The Omnipotence, Omniscience, and Omnipresence of God:
Omni means “all powerful”
Omnicron variant: “Cron” mean means “Highest God”
Omicron, not omnicron, and it’s not supposed to have two Ns.
The 15th letter of the Greek alphabet.
They skipped all the letters from D-Delta and jumped 11 letters O in order to do this.
OMNIPOTENCE
Scripture affirms God ’s omnipotence by saying He does whatever He is pleased to do.
Psalm 115:3 – But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
Matthew 19:26 – But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Psalm 147:5 – Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.
Luke 1:37 – For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Jeremiah 32:17 – ‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.’
Revelation 19:6 – Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.”
He is not subject to man or to governments. He’s not subject to time, distance, matter or any rule. He is God and He is all powerful.
God alone is omnipresent.
God alone is omniscient.
Hebrews 4:13 – “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.”
Psalm 33:13-15 – “The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men; from His dwelling place He looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth, He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their works.”
Psalm 139:1-4 – “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it all.”
God has full disclosure.
Because God is omniscient, He has perfect knowledge of what we need for any given day.
God has simple solutions for complicated issues.
Because God has perfect knowledge of what tomorrow will bring, He is able to provide for us today.
Omni-presence
“On me” (manifest) presence
The story of Christmas brings to bear the reality that God is not just there, God is actually right here. Right now. He is willing and seeking to be involved in absolutely everything our lives are involved in.
THE DEFIANT HOPE OF CHRISTMAS IS THAT
GOD IS WITH US.
Immanuel. God is with us. This is the miracle of Christmas.
Matthew 1:23 – “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
What God had promised through the prophet Isaiah in 7:14
came true on a cold night in Bethlehem. Forevermore, we could hold fast to the promise that we don’t have to face this life alone.
On the happy days. On the difficult days. On the days when we don’t even know how to put one foot in front of the other…. God is with us.
If we hold this to be true, why are we so quick to do things on our own?
In humble adoration, we keep Jesus in the manger, or maybe on the cross.
WE CAN’T KEEP JESUS IN THE MANGER OR ON THE CROSS!
We forget His resurrection and that He wants to live within us and walk beside us.
We miss the miracle of Christmas when we don’t invite “God with us” into our daily lives. Tweet this!
We miss the miracle of Christmas when we don’t invite “God with us” into every decision, every conversation, every situation of our daily lives. We truncate the influence and impact we can have as leaders when we forget to let Jesus take the lead.
God is with us.
This Christmas, I’m acutely aware that life often brings circumstances we are ill-equipped to handle on our own. My friend and her daughters are broken, and there’s nothing I or anyone else can do to fix it.
But she tells me that with every waking day, she’s reminded of God’s presence in their lives. He has never once left their side. God is with them.
May we all be so bold as to claim this miracle of Christmas. Through Jesus, there is peace, hope, joy and love available to all of us, regardless of the circumstances, if only we’ll allow Him to take the lead.
Immanuel. God is WITH us. Let’s live and lead as if we believe that, now and the whole year through.

LIVE AS FREE MEN
It is for freedom’s sake that you have been set free from the eternal prison of sin and death. I cannot stand to see you enslaved because My very nature is Love. There is no love without free will, so stand in your liberty.
LIVE AS FREE MENWhen we say we give away food at the OpenDoor Food Bank with no strings attached, guess what? That’s exactly what we do. We don’t tell people, “You need to believe in Jesus so say this prayer…” We don’t say, “You need to attend our Bible study or come to our church.” No, sir! We freely give.
I learned this from King Jesus Who freely gives to me. This is heaven’s agenda and heaven’s agenda is always about setting people free. Why is freedom such a big deal to an all-powerful God? Because people can’t run to Jesus if they’re not set free.
They can’t walk in victory and be an overcomer if they’re not set free. Confidence to run to God, and keep running to Him over and over again, comes from freedom.
“In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” – Ephesians 3:12
He wants you free so you can really and truly approach His throne. So you can walk with Him and be real with Him.
“I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.” – Psalm 119:45
You can’t walk with God unless you’re set free. Freedom is how we’re supposed to live.
“Live as free men…” – 1 Peter 2:16
The Good Lord gave us free will for a reason. It is a prerequisite to love. Without it, there is only control and God’s not about control. He gave you the ability to choose to love Him or not. He is confident you will make the right decision and extend that invitation to others in search of freedom.

SERVE WITH SELFLESS LOVE
Love what I love and hate what I hate. That is what it means to fear Me. I Am good. I hate poverty, slavery, sickness and death. I hate injustice and oppression. Align yourself with My heart and My ways and I will make your path straight.
SERVE WITH SELFLESS LOVEServing and selflessness are where the power of the love of God is – emphasis on the word “love.”
Through everything I have experienced while following Jesus, I have found the power of the Holy Spirit is demonstrated through serving because serving is demonstrating Jesus.
When Jesus put on the clothes of a slave and washed the feet of His disciples, He was serving. However, He was also demonstrating the Father’s heart and power was demonstrated through that selfless act.
Exactly like that, the power of the love of God is also demonstrated through selflessness. We know that God is love – literally love! Although there aren’t enough human words to do that justice, brother Paul penned it the best he could:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
So, the opposite of love is not hate. The opposite of love is selfishness. That’s why it’s the power of the love of God that is unleashed when we serve. We can serve all day long and if we don’t demonstrate the love of God, we’re like a clanging gong or a crashing cymbal – we’ve made a lot of hoopla yet we’ve accomplished nothing for the Kingdom (vs.1-3).
Rise above the noise and serve with selfless love. Demonstrate the love of the father. Do it today. Don’t wait.

GROW INTO GOD
I have opened a door for you that no man can shut. Come up here! You are invited into better, more, and deeper. Do not fear change. Fear staying the same.
GROW INTO GODif you still think the same way about God that you did twenty years ago, you have wasted the past twenty years. “But Pastor Troy, God loves me just like I am.”
He sure does, but He also loves you way too much to leave you that way. It’s like parents treating their grown children like babies. You don’t tie your 23-year-old son’s shoes, do you? No.
It’s actually a curse to be an adult and act like a child. It’s also a curse to be an adult and be treated like a child. God loves you, but He made you to grow and progress.
You should have a developmental part of your life where you’re finding out God does tons of stuff that you didn’t know He did. It’s called upgrade and you qualify for upgrade through personal relationship and revelation of Jesus.
With each new level of relationship, you should be experiencing Him in tons of different ways that it wasn’t safe for you to experience Him in before. It’s that deep calling unto deep thing. The deeper you get into your knowledge and connection with Him, the further in over your head He’ll call you.
Have you had any new revelations about God – how He works in your life or something you’ve seen in the experience of someone around you? If not, stop playing it safe. Put away childish things and grow into God.
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” – Hebrews 13:6

RELATIONSHIP LIKE NO OTHER
I Am available to you. Are you available to Me? I want to tell you the plans I have for you. I want to fight your battles. Will you let Me in? I Am knocking.
RELATIONSHIP LIKE NO OTHERWhy is it important to become friends with Jesus? Because He shares His plans with friends.
From now on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. – John 15:15
If that were the only perk of being the friend of God, I’d say, “Sign me up!” But there’s more. He also fights battles for His friends. When Moses’ brother and sister didn’t like his new wife, God rebuked them and said, “Don’t you know he’s My friend?”
Being the friend of God is pretty cool and I’m telling you, you want to be God’s friend. However, the upgrade from friend is to become a son or daughter – to be called family.
As many as are led by the Spirit, these He has given power to become the sons of God. – Romans 8:14
Adam was the son of God, but Seth was the son of Adam – he wasn’t the son of God. Depending on whether or not you’re saved, there are sons of Adam and sons of God walking around in this world.
If you start moving in the relationship of family, you become a co-heir, or joint heir, with Jesus. In other words, Jesus is willing to share everything He has with you because He’s a Son and you’re a son.
Are you a friend or are you a son? Be both. Pursue the Lord and enjoy a relationship like no other.

DON’T BUDGE!
Seek Me first and My righteousness – the right standing only I have and only I can supply. It is yours if you seek Me. You will not fold. You will not fall out or lose focus on Me. You were made to advance from glory to glory, everlasting to everlasting.
DON’T BUDGE!Sometimes, all you can do is stand. You stand with God not knowing how to advance. You can’t move forward and God’s certainly not going to let you turn tail and run.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God – Ephesians 6:14-17
That’s the full armor of God, but it doesn’t include any butt armor. Retreat is not an option. It’s forward or nothing. You can’t turn around because you’ll die.
You ever been in a place where you can’t move forward, but if you go back you’ll die? I’ve been there many times in different parts of my life and I can tell you what you do in that place. You stand.
What does it mean to stand? It literally means “to be righteous” or have “right standing.” Some deeper research will give you this little-known definition of righteousness: “one with legs.” Hallelujah.
This means when all hell is breaking loose and you have nowhere to go, you can stand in the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. God is Holy. God has His act together. God is good and I won’t budge on that. I won’t!
I will stand on that fact and I will stand on the truth that God is with me. I will not turn tail. I will not run. I may not be able to explain it or see His hand, but I can stand in that place and say, “God is good. He’ll never leave me or forsake me.” You can too.

GET INTO POSITION
I loved the Son before the foundation of the world just as He loved Me. When I gave you to Him as brothers and sisters, you not only became a joint heir, you became the beloved. This is your identity.
GET INTO POSITIONFirst Love. In Revelation, when Jesus – the “One like a Son of Man” – writes to the Church in Ephesus saying it has stepped outside of first love, it means they had stepped outside of heaven’s deepest affection.
If you’re not aligned properly, you cannot fulfill your assignment for the Kingdom. Where is that alignment? Between the Father and the Son.
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” – John 15:9
Jesus wants you to find your positioning. He wants you to line yourself in that love. There’s no shame, no guilt and no condemnation.
Yes, you have grace, but the upgrade of grace is this: if you’re in-between the love of the Father and the Son, that grace empowers you to not sin.
Grace comes into your life to empower you and break you free. It knocks the chains off so you don’t have to keep falling into sin. Grace is literally power – dynamic power to overcome.
God hates to see His kids live a powerless life. He wants you to walk in authority, wisdom and power. So, get into position. Realize Jesus died to put you in the middle of His love toward the Father. When the Father looks at you, He sees Jesus. That’s first love.

GOD WITH US 1: The Perfect Man
Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021
Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX
Matthew 11:7-23 – So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations. (Christ Born of Mary) 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
The problem with the Gnostics: The letter emphasizes the supremacy of Christ and what that means for everyday living. It offers specific ways to develop attitudes and actions that honor the Lord.
Colossians 1:15-18 – He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge
Psalms 46:7– He is with us, He is among us, He is like us, yet He is perfect
More than five centuries ago, Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci produced a now-famous image of what he considered the perfectly proportioned male body: the “Vitruvian Man.”
The drawing was inspired by even earlier pondering on the perfect human form by first-century A.D. Roman architect Vitruvius.
The drawing, which is in ink on paper, depicts a man in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs apart and inscribed in a circle and square.
The drawing represents Leonardo’s concept of the ideal human body proportions. Its inscription in a square and a circle comes from a description by the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius in Book III of his treatise De Architectura.
Man’s idea of a perfect man has to do with perfect body portions and though I’ve been asked many times, I have rejected the likes of GQ magazine to pose for such a photograph.
Obviously that’s not true but what is true is that after the fall of Adam, every beautiful human that ever lived was beautiful flawed in a hideous way.
NOAH, who believed God when no one else on the planet did and remained motivated to preach for 120 years and never saw a single convert, walked with God and saved all of us by building the ark and preserving humanity and the creation of God. The first chance he got, he built a vineyard, made wine and got so drunk it caused some kind of a crazy mess in his preserved family that they never recovered from.
Noah had a chance. I mean a real chance to be the architect of a brand new people called the human race.
See he wasn’t just on the ark the ark for 40 days and 40 nights. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. He was on the ark for for what the Bible describes as 377 days or what can be argued as one solar year minus 1 day!
Genesis 8:14-20 – In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had dried out. 15 Then God said to Noah, 16 “Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. 17 Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh—birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth—that they may swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” 18 So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him. 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by families from the ark.
God’s Covenant with Noah: 20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
He’s in the Hebrews 11 hall of fame.
Hebrews 11:7 – By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
He was awesome but he was nowhere near perfect.
So, how did the perfect architect human being as a father perform as soon as he landed. He committed to building a vineyard and a moonshine still and he got drunk! Being locked up with your family can do such a thing to less than perfect humans
You can read all about in Genesis chapter 9 and it is big big mess.
Abraham is the father of Faith: ABRAHAM was another that was a candidate to be the perfect human. The perfection of what a father should look like
Hebrews 11:8-10 – By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Oh my goodness he was amazing!!! 4,000 years ago this guy heard God speak and dared to believe the voice of a God that he didn’t know his name.
He believed in ways all of us want to. He pioneered walking with God.He was extraordinary. But he wasn’t perfect. He was far, far less than perfect.
Abraham’s life reminds us that we don’t have to be perfect people to be faithful people.
King David: David is as close of a perfect human being as anybody has ever imagined.
Warrior, prophet, lover, king, musician, writer, friend, enemy, overcomer
Humanity loves him. Jesus loves him so much and thinks so highly of him that even calls himself the son of David!
Despite his glaring flaws, David is described as a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22).
David was far from perfect, but his faith and zeal made him the standard against which all Israel’s future kings would be measured.
So the conclusion is that there is no perfect man.
Matthew 5:48 – “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
There are a couple of things we need to understand about this statement. In the first place, the word that is translated “perfect” literally means “be complete.” So often, the New Testament and the Old Testament will describe people as being upright and righteous—not in the sense that they have achieved total moral perfection, but rather that they have reached a singular level of maturity in their growth in terms of spiritual integrity. However, in this statement, it’s certainly legitimate to translate it using the English word perfect. For example, “Be ye complete as your heavenly Father is complete.” Now remember that your heavenly Father is perfectly complete!
Matthew 5:48 (Weymouth New Testament) – You however are to be complete in goodness, as your Heavenly Father is complete.
Jesus truly is the perfect man.
Brother Paul’s perspective was that the first time God created a perfect man, Adam became sinful and flawed. The 2nd time God created the perfect man, not only did he not become sinful and flawed but he redeemed the rest of sinful and flawed humanity.
1 Corinthians 15:21-22 – For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:45 – And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening (life giving) spirit.
God wanted someone to show the world what he was really like and he needed to be perfect. A perfect representation of the Father.
Colossians 1:15-17 – He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation…
Hebrews 1:3 – He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
John 5:19 – So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.
2 Corinthians 4:4 – In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
John 10:30 – “I and the Father are one.”
John 14:9 – Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”
God is with us.
Over the next month as you and I revise the reality and the possibilities of what it means that God would literally be with us through Christ being born, we need to consider the perfection of Jesus.
