A PRETTY GREAT PLACE TO BE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

The love between the Son and I is the greatest love in the universe. We have offered it to you. Stand in-between us and experience what it is to see yourself as full, complete, perfect and whole.

A PRETTY GREAT PLACE TO BE

We love everybody and we don’t judge or condemn. In a place like that, it’s very easy to slip in the doors and not have your lifestyle upgraded. Jesus wants to upgrade your lifestyle, He doesn’t want you to live in bondage. We’re not pointing fingers, it’s an invitation to walk into a greater upgrade.

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20

How can a sinner just all of a sudden stop all the things that they’ve done? Simple. They died. What?!?

They finally died to sin. They believe what they read here in Galatians 2:20. They have died and Christ is now living through them. That’s First Love.

First Love is discovering who you really are – your true identity. You cannot uncover who you are until you walk in that position between the Father and the Son. It’s the place where they begin to tell you who you are.

If you try to figure out who you are in your own wisdom, you’ll get it all backward and upside down. You need to be able to hear the Father’s heart as He speaks into you. Go to Jesus to find out who you are in Him. Look at His character and know the Father sees you through the lens of Jesus. That’s a pretty great place to be

BEWARE BLIND GUIDES

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Beware the leaven of the Pharisees. One offense taken up and planted in your heart will produce a huge harvest of weeds. Seek first My Kingdom and My righteousness for I Am Truth and I will never chain you through offense.

BEWARE BLIND GUIDES

People who are offended want you to be offended too. They do. I see it all the time. Misery loves company so those with an ax to grind don’t want to grind it all alone.

Why? Because they need to justify their bad behavior. If they can get you to join the mob they’re forming, they can point to you and say, “See! They are on my side so I must be right.” That fuels their fire to continue forming a bigger mob.

Jesus is never in the mob.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. – John 8:32

People get offended over all kinds of things. Before you jump on their bandwagon, start picketing or campaigning against someone on social media, ask yourself, “Do I know this is the truth or am I just taking up someone else’s offense?”

Remember, it’s not the truth that sets you free from being used for someone else’s retribution. It’s knowing the truth that will keep you from taking sides with what the Bible calls “blind guides” – people who cannot see the truth because they are blinded by offense.

“Every plant that My Heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into the pit.” – Matthew 15:13

A blind guide is a dangerous ally. Avoid them. Don’t get on their bandwagon. Don’t let their offense become your offense. Seek out the truth and be free from those who don’t want to end up in the pit all alone.

A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, And contentions are like the bars of a castle. – Proverbs 18:19

29, MOUNTAINS AND DEPARTURE

PROPHETIC WEDNESDAY, Dec. 29, 2021

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

Since mountains are associated with hearing God speak and the voice of the Lord, this number is also associated with those themes. It could have to do with instruction from the Lord as well, but it definitely has to do with mountains. There are 29 Mountains in the Bible

Going to the mountain has to do with worship and hearing the voice of the Lord, so I suspect that 29 is associated with God’s voice.

Psalm 29 is all about the voice of the Lord:

Psalms 29

1 Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.

4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.

7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.

8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.

9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.

10 The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King forever.

11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

Mount Everest and 29

EVER-REST

The official height of Mount Everest is 29,032 feet!

It was first climbed by Sir Edmond Hillary on May 29, 1953.

God is preaching through the number 29.

SPEAKING OF EVER-REST…

SAYING 29 OF “THE 30 SAYINGS OF THE WISE” IN PROVERBS 22-24:

Proverbs 24:19 – Do not fret because of evildoers or be envious of the wicked, 20 for the evildoer has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.

HEBREW RESEARCH PIGGY-BACKS OFF OF THIS!

Twenty-Nine in Hebrew is kaph-teth: DEPARTURE

INTERSECTION OF MOUNTAINS AND DEPARTURE:

Moses climbing the mountain and departing. Jesus died and departed the first time from Golgotha – Mount MoriahJesus’ departure/Ascension from the Mount of OlivesMount of Transfiguration where Moses and Elijah came for a visit but departed rapidly back to heaven.

kaph-teth:

This letter combination can signify the works (kaph) of the serpent (teth), but in this case the teth has more to do with the idea of surrounding or encircling. The serpent was often pictured as eating its tail to form a circle.

A circle is also covenant, like a wedding ring. The circle of life, which is about seasons and the concept of Ecclesiastes 1:9 – What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again: there is nothing new under the sun

From God’s point of view, the earth is a circle:

Isaiah 14:22 – He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.

AGAIN, Twenty-nine is the number of departure. This being the last number of the series of twenties, it depicts a change from the covering of one’s house into something new.

Also, because the number nine has to do with the judgment of the Holy Spirit, the baptism of fire, it is preparatory to the number 30, which is about dedication to rulership.

The 29th time the name of Noah is used: Genesis 8:18, 19 – he and his family are departing from the ark after the flood.

The 29th time the name Abram is used: Genesis 14:12,  he is departing from the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah.

The 29th time the name Abraham is used: Genesis 20:11-13, he tells Abimelech about when he had departed his father’s house.

The 29th time the name Isaac is used: Genesis 26:1, he is departing from Beer-lahairoi to go to Gerar.

The 29th time the name Jacob is used: Genesis 28:7, it says that he had left his parents and had gone to Padan-aram.

The 29th time Joshua’s name is mentioned: Joshua 1:12, the tribes of Israel were being instructed as to their Jordan crossing. They were departing from the wilderness and entering the Promised Land.

The 29th time Salem or Jerusalem is mentioned: 2 Samuel 15:8, Absalom was departing from Jerusalem to go to Hebron, where he was about to instigate the revolt against David.

The 29th time Jesus’ name is mentioned in the book of Matthew (8:34), the people were requesting that He depart from the coast of Gadara after He had healed the demoniac.

The 29th time Jesus’ name is mentioned in the book of John (4:2, 3), we read that He departed from Judea.

The 29th time Paul’s name is mentioned in Acts (16:28). The earthquake had just occurred, and the jailer assumed that the prisoners had all departed. But Paul prevented the jailer from committing suicide by telling him that no one had tried to escape.

CHOOSE TO BREAK THE CHAIN

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am a loving God but I will not force you to love Me. I have given you the ability to choose for yourself. You do not become a part of My kingdom because your parents were. It’s personal. Come and sit. Let’s talk a while.

CHOOSE TO BREAK THE CHAIN

The choices between life or death that we make in covenant with God do not just affect us. They also affect our children and our grandchildren.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” – Deuteronomy 30:19

Walking with God is about the collateral blessing. Look, we all know about collateral damage and we all know about generational curses. Generational curses are real and you need to learn how to throw a wrench into that mess.

Know this: You do not have to be subject to the curse passed down to you. This whole thing of people saying, “I was born this way,” or, “I was born that way,” is baloney. You don’t have to be a slave to that thing.

What’s real is Jesus Christ paid an amazing price for you to tap into His bloodline and His bloodline is clean and holy. It gives you an identity that says, “You are clean and you are holy.”

As adults, we are in a small way the product of how we were raised. Parents or other adults trained us how to think and what to believe. But there comes a time, my friend, when you need to evaluate your belief system and decide for yourself what you believe and why.

Statistically, those raised in a Christian home are more likely to have a relationship with God. Kids who grew up seeing their father pray with the family as well as alone have more a chance of doing it themselves.

On the flip side, if alcoholism runs in your family or dad had several lady friends, it’s likely you were never taught that was wrong and ‘poof’ – you’re living with a generational curse. To say, “That’s just how I was raised” is a cop-out!

Grow up. Find out what you believe. What kind of legacy will you hand down to your children and grandchildren? Choose to break the chain with the blood of Jesus.

ONE WAY LEADS TO LIFE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I came to unify, but I also came to be a stumbling block for the wicked and to cause division between a man and his father and a daughter and her mother. Choose you this day whom you will serve – the Truth or a lie. I Am the Truth.

ONLY ONE WAY LEADS TO LIFE

To many people, the truth is offensive. “But Pastor Troy, if Jesus was perfect and what He said was 100 percent truth, why did He offend so many people in the Bible and why do His words still offend people today?”

Simple: the problem was on the receiving end, not the giving end. Jesus is not the problem. You and I are the problem because our hearts reject truth when it’s not convenient or doesn’t benefit us. Look at the Pharisees who were offended that Jesus and the disciples weren’t following their man-made law of washing their hands before supper.

Then the disciples came to Him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” – Matthew 15:12

The disciples seem distressed, but they’re about to get their minds blown when Jesus replies:

“Every plant that My Heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into the pit.” – Matthew 15:13

BOOM! No remorse. No apologies. Let me tell you, calling the religious leaders “blind” and instructing people to “leave them” could have turned into an area of offense – a stumbling block for those listening because Jesus is supposed to be all nicey nice, right?

Wrong. Jesus isn’t about tickling ears and telling you what you want to hear. His Word is truth and truth divides right from wrong. Only one way leads to life.

LEAVEN OR BREAD?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

From the beginning, I Am. I will be until the end of your time and I will continue to be in eternity where I always have been. I know the end from the beginning. Trust My prophesies. I speak to My people and I reveal My ways. Are you listening?

LEAVEN OR BREAD?

Most babies do not have any control over the circumstances of their birth – when they’re born, who they’re born to, the real estate they’re born on. They don’t know the condition of the world they’re born into. But Jesus was no normal baby. He was God Almighty in flesh form.

Today, I want to talk about the prophecy of where the Messiah would be born. The book of Micah makes some things pretty clear.

“But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” – Micah 5:2

This prophecy, written about 700 years before Jesus’ birth, eliminates all other cities and towns where the Messiah would be born. That means if anyone rose up and said they were the Messiah but weren’t born in Bethlehem, they were disqualified.

My friends, Bethlehem literally means “House of Bread.” Jesus calls Himself the “Bread of Life” in John 6:35 and promises all who believe in Him shall never hunger or thirst. In contrast to that, we are to beware the “bread” the enemy offers.

Then Jesus said unto them, “Take heed and beware the leaven of the Pharisees.” – Matthew 16:6

He’s saying that the bread the High Priests and religious leaders of the day offer – manmade rules – leads to death. That’s still true today!

Remember in the Exodus story how the children of Israel were told to eat unleavened bread during the first Passover? Still to this day, the Jews rid their house of any leaven during the Feast of passover because it is synonymous with the sin of lying.

See the connection? Even during the time of Moses, God was prophesying about the place Jesus would be born and the times He would live in. My friends, Jesus is the “Bread of Life” born in the “House of Bread.”

This speaks of our day as well. Beware the leaven of religion that wants to replace life with death and freedom with manmade rules. Feast on the Word of Jesus – your daily bread – and have abundant life.

THE LAST WORD FOR 2021

Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, Texas

I know it’s just after Christmas, but I want to start off with an important part of Christmas we almost always leave out: TWO OLD FOLKS AT THE END OF THEIR LIFE, AT THE END OF THEIR WALK, AT THE VERY END OF ALL THEY HAVE KNOWN SEE KING JESUS AND FIND THEMSELVES IN THE CHRISTMAS STORY.

Luke 2:25-27 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 So he came by the Spirit into the temple.

Simeon’s a holy ghost man before the rest of the world was. Pentecost, when the Holy Ghost was gonna be offered to everybody, was not going to happen for another 33 years, but he’s walking in and living in something way before everybody was. Prophetic promises and being led by the Spirit will cause you to see things nobody else sees way before anybody else sees them.

What if you were led by the Spirit to walk in your 2022 promises while it is still 2021?

But Simeon is not the only person at the end of their calendar, who walking in AD even though it is still BC for everybody else and here is her story.

Luke 2:36-38 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; 37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but SERVED GOD WITH FASTINGS AND PRAYERS night and day. 38 And she COMING IN THAT INSTANT gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

At the very moment Jesus was dedicated in the temple, Anna, a prophetess, came into the Temple. She was right on time with the most significant thing God was involved with on Earth in her day. The reason she was in sync with and aligned with what God was doing was because she served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

Her timing–day and night–was committed to prayer and fasting.

Some people believe others are at the right place and at the right time simply because of luck. Luck is success brought by chance rather than through one’s own actions. Most of the time, what people call Luck is really the intersection where being prepared meets with God bringing an opportunity. God will provide our opportunities, but we must stay prepared through prayer like Anna, we got to be led by the Holy Spirit like Simeon.

1 Prophetic Promises, 2 being Led by the Spirit instead of our flesh in scary and trying times (both of these fall into the category of waiting on the Lord), and 3 being dedicated to prayer are the 3 keys we see here is what keeps us in supernatural perfect timing.

Romans 12:12“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.”

In Luke 19:41-46, Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem and said they knew not the time of their visitation.

They were not prepared to be a part of what God was doing in their time and in their day. They missed the visitation of the Son of God and Son of Man. Right after He said that He went into the temple and cast out those that were buying and selling which was a away people would exchange money for an animal to sacrifice. The issue wasn’t so much the buying and selling but the “busyness” to the neglect of prayer.

If you are concerned about missing God’s purpose for your life or if you do not want to be living outside of God’s present happenings in the earth, rise up and be instant in prayer.

It’s the end of the year.  Are you ready for the end?

There’s a little time left. It’s not too late. There is something brand new that God wants to show you and invite you into after this?

Clocks and calendars tell us WHEN we are…

You prove you’re serious and real and intentional by paying attention to the timing of things.

There is a spiritual war over timing. The enemy is trying to “change the set times and the laws” (Daniel 7:25).

The good news is our God is able to reverse anything the enemy tries to do because He “changes the times and the seasons” (Daniel 2:21) back into order when we align with Him.

The rattling of the dry bones in the book of Ezekiel is the realignment of what has been scattered in time and space.

Todays is the 26th day of December and there are 5 days left in the year 2021. All of us have a great responsibility in finishing well in this year. We are not thinking well, I’ve got 364 days left until Christmas, we are thinking, I’ve got 5 days left to accomplish something in this year that honors God and says I finished well in the year 2021.

The calendar is a measure to man, but it is not a limit to God.

It doesn’t tell us Who we are.

It doesn’t tell us what we are. It doesn’t tell us what is possible or what can be.

It’s not too late!

Your mess in 2021 has not messed God up.

He is faithful. He is amazing. He is willing. He is accessible

Romans 10:9“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

God doesn’t need a human schedule to accomplish a divine purpose.

God doesn’t need to check your schedule to bless you. He’s looking for people who believe him in something I like to call defiant hope

To those who walk with Him, the Lord declares that His ear is not “dull, that it cannot hear (Isaiah 59:1)”

You don’t give up what you hoped for in February because there’s just a few days left.

GOD WANTS TO BRING YOU INTO SOMETHING MUCH BETTER.

Revelation 4:1“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up here, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.”

Revelation chapter 4 is symbolic for where the rapture of the church takes place

While I’m waiting for the rapture, though, I’m living for Christ.

The word “wait” in the Bible often means “to look eagerly for, to hope and to expect.” The psalmist, when facing great difficulties, wrote:

Psalms 25:2–3“O my God, I trust in You; let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed.”

“Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day” (vv. 4–5 NKJV).

Titus 2:11-14For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Here at the end of the calendar year I want to say how happy and how blessed I am to be surrounded by people and found amongst a tribe that is both rapture ready and zealous for good works

ONE POWERFUL TESTIMONY

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am the One Who is, Who was and Who Is to come. I know the beginning from the end. I have seen your finish and it’s glorious. Walk in power this day and be prepared to give an answer to the hope of glory within you.

ONE POWERFUL TESTIMONY

I want to talk to you about the importance of tapping into the power of testimony.  When you tap into the power of testimony, which is the power of God in your past, you tap into the Spirit of prophecy.

The Spirit of prophecy which is the power of God in your future. BOOM!

The Bible says in Revelation 19:10 that the testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ is the Spirit of prophecy. Amen. Well, why do you need the power of your testimony and the power of your prophecy? So that you can live powerful right now.

You don’t have to wait until you have it all together or until you understand how all this prophetic stuff works. The Lord wants to give you a powerful walk and a powerful testimony of His goodness today and every day.

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. – 1 John 5:11

You know where God has been with you and you know where God is going with you. Because of this, you know God is with you here and now. Hallelujah. And that makes you an overcomer because you’re an overcomer “…by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony.”

My friend, you have eternal life. That’s one powerful testimony of Jesus!

EVERY JOT AND TITTLE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I will never leave you nor forsake you. Even when I “left” the 99 to find you, I was still with them. I cannot stand for you to be lost. I will prophesy and speak through My Spirit within you. Listen and know I keep My Word.

EVERY JOT AND TITTLE

The prophecies about the birth of Jesus are so important to know and understand. This one might just be my favorite. It’s an obscure prophecy about the birth of Jesus that’s not just about the town he would be born in, it pinpoints the Messiah’s birthplace down to the very square foot.

You might not have ever heard this before but, like the prophecy about Messiah being born in Bethlehem, this is also in the book of Micah.

“And you, O tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, to you shall it come, even the former dominion shall come, the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem.” – Micah 4:8

What is the tower of the flock? It’s the place where the Levitical shepherds kept newborn lambs that passed the test of being born spotless. They would be sacrificed in the Temple for the sins of the people. Hmmm.

And get this, the Tower of the Flock was in the “Shepherd’s field.” The exact same field that King David watched his flocks in when he was a boy. Jesus is from the line of David. He was literally born in the tower of his “father David” to be a sacrificial lamb for the sins of the world.

But that’s not all! The priests would wrap the lambs in “swaddling clothes” – the ripped up priestly garments covered in the blood of past sacrifices. Instead of throwing them out because they were now unclean, the Levites used them to protect the spotless lambs. That means Jesus was wrapped in the “blood of the sacrificial lamb” from birth!

It gets even better. They also used these cloths to make wicks for the menorah. It’s like they knew Jesus was the light of the world! They didn’t, but God did and He was prophesying it loud and clear at the Tower of the Flock. Check out what the angel said:

“And this shall be a sign unto you; You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” – Luke 2:12

The Levitical shepherds knew at the words “swaddling clothes” exactly where to look for the Messiah. There was only one place it could be and it’s so prophetic! My friends, God fulfills His prophetic words – every one of them down to the slightest jot or tittle. His word can be trusted.

TOO MUCH TO LEAVE YOU THAT WAY

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

When I say I know the plans I have for you, it means I see you as complete – full. You are lacking nothing in My love. Let old attitudes and habits go. The new has come.

TOO MUCH TO LEAVE YOU THAT WAY

What are the things you are absolutely rock-solid on because you have experienced God in those places and you know His power? You’ve seen His hand and know His majesty by personal experience?

You know what that is? That’s being a person of revelation that is tapped into testimony.

Just so you know, your testimony is not what you did before you were saved. That’s your history. We don’t live according to history because our history is all about death.

Your testimony is who Jesus is to you. How He’s shown up and how you have known Him by personal experience. When you testify to Jesus, it’s all about how He saved you and redeemed every part of your life. It’s all about life.

Because you and I are carnal, one of the things we look for is we come before God and we’re looking for enhancement. We just want to be better, do better and have better. That’s a pretty small vision.

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. – 2 Corinthians 3:18

God’s not looking for enhancement. No, sir! He’s looking for transformation. He doesn’t want to just take what you’ve got and make it better, He wants to take what you’ve got, throw it in the trash and give you something awesome – something that looks like Him. Amen.

When He does that – when He starts moving you into your destiny – you’ll find your testimony is full of life. It’s full of upgrade, yes, but better than that, it’s full of newness. The experience of Jesus is always transformational. He loves you how you are, but He also loves you too much to leave you that way!
