FEELIN’ FROGGY

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You are the territory I want to bring My Kingdom and My will to. You are that piece of earth I want dominion over. When My will is done in your life, you will be transformed and look like a little piece of heaven here on earth.

FEELIN’ FROGGY?

In Matthew 6, Jesus was teaching on how to pray. In verse 10 He says, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.” If you want God’s will to be done on earth–that means you–as it is in heaven, you must change the way you think.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. – Romans 12:2

Renewing your mind means to look at life from Jesus’ perspective. The thing you call a failure, He calls a big success. The step you took forward in your walk, He sees as a huge leap in faith and in your destiny.

If you don’t know your purpose in life, let me just tell you, it is to glorify Him. That is your purpose.

You are to use the gifts, talents, interests and anointing He has given you and reflect Him in your everyday life. That means at work, school, church and if you’re feelin’ a bit froggy, yes, even Walmart.

Do the people you interact with think of you as a drop-dead, sold-out Jesus freak? If they don’t, they should. Call some of the Father’s will from the Kingdom down onto that piece of real estate that is you. You are My heaven on earth.

WANT IT ALL?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I once called you servant, then I called you friend. Now, I call you family. I have been preparing a place in My Father’s house for My bride so we will never be apart again.

WANT IT ALL?

There are four levels of relationship with the Lord. The first is servant. When you first get saved, you find the best way into the King’s throne room is through the servant’s quarters.

As great a place as this is, God doesn’t want you to remain a servant forever. He’s God angels to serve Him. You were meant for more – like being the friend of God. Abraham and Moses were called God’s friends and it gave them crazy favor and privilege.

When Jesus the Son came to earth, He opened the door to something better – being His brother or sister. Becoming part of the family gets you a share of the inheritance and a place at the table. It’s an awesome place to be.

But the upgrade from family is becoming a bride. The Bride has influence with the Bridegroom that others don’t have. The Bride learns to not have any identity outside of the heart of her husband. She is so united with Him that she carries the same authority and supernatural favor.

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.  – Revelation 19:7-9

How do you qualify for each of these upgrades? Intimacy with the Lord. Making yourself ready for His return through service, time, attention, communication. You pray, read the word, and do what pleases the Father. Being obedient is a big part of qualifying.

Want more and deeper access to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords? Go after your upgrade. Servant, friend, son and bride – you can have it all. The ball is in your court.

THE PROMISE OF POSITION

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

My Father’s house has many mansions. I Am preparing a place for you and I will come back again to bring you to where I Am. Get ready. Prepare yourself to live in the supernatural family of God.

THE PROMISE OF POSITION

The modern Church you and I are a part of has probably never stepped into what Revelation 2 calls first love. What is that?

This is where John is told the Church of Ephesus needs to return to its “first love.” Now, the disciples were taught that first love was the love between the Father and the Son. Jesus is calling us into this space between Him and His Father.

He wants us to occupy this space. He wants us to be able to share the unity, passion and life they have going on between them. The Father’s eyes are continually on the Son and the Son’s eyes are on us. If we’re in-between the two, the Father sees the Son through us.

“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” – John 17:24

First love is not performance, just acceptance. It’s an invitation and permission to step into a place with God that was never made available before Jesus. It is yours, right now. Step into your promise of position.

THEORIES AND MYSTERIES

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Right now, you see Me through a glass darkly. You may not know My face, but you do know My voice, My hand, and My love for you, but I Am so much more. When you seek Me, you will find – one revelation at a time.

THEORIES AND MYSTERIES

The Holy Spirit loves to partner with the creative part of your mind to come up with theories. Now, the problem with Godly people coming up with theories is they develop methods with their theories, then they tend to form denominations – or non-denominations – around their theories and methods.

While this is not a good thing, theories aren’t the bad guy. Methods are not the bad guy. A theory is only bad when we stamp a label on it and say our theory is God.

If you think the only way you can be compatible with somebody is if they think exactly like you, that is ludicrous. Actually, that’s religion and it doesn’t work. If you want someone who thinks just like you, do not get married. Do not have kids or friends. People are the problem, not theories.

Here’s what’s real: even the word ‘theory’ has the word “theo” in it. Do you know what “theo” means? It means “God.” That’s where we get the word “theology” – the study of all things pertaining to God. A “theocracy” is government run by priests.

The Greeks had a place called the Pantheon. It has the word ‘theo’ in it, it’s a place where they worshipped all the gods because they had a bunch and none of them were real.

What’s real is God loves it when you search Him out. He doesn’t mind it when you have a theory about Him – just don’t call that theory by His name. He knows He’s a mystery to you and you have to search out the matter. If you search and keep searching, He’ll lead you to the correct conclusion – He is good. All the time, good.

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. – Psalms 27:13

SHIFT THE MOMENTUM

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I know you are tired of fighting the same battle with the same evil tyrant. Praise Me in that place. Lift your hands and praise Me. Hold up My battle banner. Fight with your praise and worship and I will bring you victory for My Name’s sake.

SHIFT THE MOMENTUM

There are just some things you have to decide you will not give up. Come hell or high water, you will not give up. So, you stand. That’s what you do.

You hold on to the righteousness of Jesus Christ when your child gets sick, when your job gets taken away, your marriage is on the rocks or your money disappears. That’s what it means to stand.

Listen, you don’t have to stand for forever. You’ll get to advance again – I promise you will. And this is how I know: because it happened in the Bible to Moses and Joshua in Exodus chapter 17.

An evil king, Amalek, wanted to wipe out the children of Israel before they reached the Promised Land. Isn’t that just like the enemy to try and kill the promise before it can manifest?

Well, the Lord told Joshua to take his men and fight this much more skilled, better-armed fighting force. Then, God Almighty told Moses to hold his hands up high and as long as he kept them up, Joshua would be victorious.

Now, think about what that looked like. It must have looked like Moses was holding up a banner! While his arms were raised, Israel was winning. If he got tired and they fell, the Amalekites would start winning. Aaron and Hur had to hold Moses’ arms up and the Lord gave them the victory.

Just like that, Jehovah Nissi will show up on your battlefield. The momentum will change. His banner will be seen and you’ll be like, “Dude, the King has shown up on my battlefield!”

The momentum changes and Jesus brings you the victory. That’s the whole understanding of Jehovah Nissi as “The Lord is our Banner.”

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner… – Exodus 17:15

What Amalekites need to be wiped off the face of your earth? What battle do you need the Lord to win on your behalf? You will get tired. The battle will take time, but put your hands in the air and call on Jehovah Nissi – The Lord is our Banner – to shift the momentum for your victory.

YOU CAN COUNT ON IT

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I created Adam to be a farmer and so it is with you. While he tended a garden, you are to tend to the hearts of men. Plant My word. Shower it with love and I will harvest the eternal fruit from your vine.

YOU CAN COUNT ON IT

Guys, can I tell you I can’t believe I’m the guy standing there in front of OpenDoor Church and the whole world that is watching on the worldwide web and on three major television networks?

I’m shocked every single time I get up to preach, but you know what? I have to man up to that. I have to live the kind of lifestyle knowing God has called me to stand in this place. I have to say, “Yes, and amen” to that.

Well, that’s what you have to do with every piece of territory you’ve been given. You have territory in your home, in your job, in your relationships, finances, ministry – you’ve got a lot of ground Jesus wants to see plowed, planted and watered for a great big harvest.

When you stand there and don’t fall out, you’re showing you’re qualified for the next level. Just know that, like farming, it’s going to take faith and hard work. There are often trials and tribulations. God didn’t promise it was going to be a walk in the garden.

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. – James 1:12

Better is never easier, but I promise you it is better and it leads to life – real life and transformation in the eternal Kingdom of God. Stand your ground and the Lord will increase your territory. You can count on it.

Tribe 4: How Do Things Work Around Here?

Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

1 Timothy 4:1-2 – Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,

Now “the Spirit expresses…” What is the Holy Spirit highlighting right now?
The danger of departing.
The danger of deception.
The danger of doctrines of devils.
Folks lying about how they have their own act together.
Unable to be moved by the Holy Spirit.

1 Timothy 4:3  – forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

They always manifest as control freaks and they believe they are anointed by God to police the lifestyles of struggling Christians. Think of all the health and fitness gurus—the false prophets of relationships, diet and exercise. They lure people to focus on themselves in shallow and vain ways. Magazines like Men’s Health, Vanity Fair, Self, Us, Elle, Cosmo and hundreds of life coaches, YouTubers and bloggers all over the worldwide waste of time giving “expert” advice based on what? Not God’s word!

1 Timothy 4:4-7  – For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. 6 If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. 7 But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.

Senseless traditions, local legends. Godless ideas. Regional myths. Strange doctrines and passing rumors.

1 Timothy 4:8 – For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.

The idea here is that what ever you do for your body is only for now.

1 Timothy 4:9-11 – This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. 11 These things command and teach.

The Passion Translation – 9 Faithful is the Word, and everyone should accept him! 10 For the sake of this ministry, we toil tirelessly and are criticized continually, simply because our hope is in the living God. He is the wonderful life-giver of all the children of men, and even more so to those who believe.

1 Timothy 4:12-16 – Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. 16 Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

◦ If we cut off a finger, the finger dies... if we want it to function, we must get it reconnected quickly. Connection is absolutely necessary for life. ▪ When the connection is hindered... the body doesn’t operate like it’s supposed to.• Because the church is pictured as a body in the New Testament, this means that the church is not an organization – it is an organism. There is LIFE in the body and that life comes from the SPIRIT! ◦ We are a body. We are a living, breathing, organism and we exist in community. That is what Paul is writing about here in 1 Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 – For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink [g]into one Spirit. 14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.

We’re on a journey together!

In 2013, I was made aware of a book, Tribal Leadership: Leveraging Natural Groups to Build a Thriving Organization, by Dave Logan, John King, and Hailee Fischer-Wright

◦ They learned that what separates average tribes from those that excel is culture.
• A tribe is a group of between 20 and 150 people; a small organization is a tribe and a large organization is a “tribe of tribes.”
• The idea behind this book is that in order for an organization to change—to take a step up—the culture has to change. The authors discovered that “strategies failed 70 percent of the time.”
◦ As they researched why this occurred, they found that Peter Duckers’ statement was true:

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast.”

PURSUING THE POWERFUL

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Sin and death have taken such a toll on My beautiful creation – especially on My crowning achievement, man. I have turned back the clock with the gift of redemption. You are not powerless. Pursue Me and be renewed.

PURSUING THE POWERFUL

God totally blesses pursuit. That’s why I’m in pursuit of my Kingdom purpose and identity. I’m in pursuit of Biblical worldview because I’m constantly recognizing I want to see things the way God sees them, not the way the world does.

Those things don’t just happen. Nobody is going to do it for you. You have to go after it. Whenever you find you’re out of sync with that, Boom, get right back in line again.

I’m in constant pursuit of a powerful, productive life. I have a strong conviction concerning my private life. When I’m by myself, I’m constantly monitoring what I’m thinking about, how I’m communing with God, what I’m letting into my life – all those kinds of things.

I have to pursue that. I want my public life to show I have a very strong private life with King Jesus. That’s why I’m in constant pursuit of living a Spirit-filled, Kingdom life.

A life full of the Holy Spirit is a life full of power. I do not want to live a powerless life. I’m living in this day, right now and Jesus is alive right now so this is what I’m going to do:

I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. – Psalms 121:1-2

The same voice that created the universe are the same hands that broke bread, healed the sick and were nailed to a cross so I could pursue a powerful life – not a pathetic life.

TAKE OFF YOUR MASK

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

What I have for you is better than what I have for your neighbor. Likewise, what I have for them is better than what I have for you. I take you very personally and would never give you leftover gifts, identity or purpose

TAKE OFF YOUR MASK

It’s time for a reality check: if you’re not real about boldly pushing into the Promised Land, you’ll put on masks and pretend you have everything figured out. You’ll also think you don’t have faith.

First, there is a real danger to putting on the church mask – that you’ve got it all together, worked out and prayed up. You pretend you’re a spiritual superhero when you’re really the guy being shaken down by the perp in broad daylight.

Can I tell you something? You can only keep up the super-Christian act for a short while before people start to figure you out. Stop comparing yourself to others – their walk, gifts, and maturity. Comparison kills!

You have to go through the process, develop, and go after the things of God for you and my friend, it’s not a competition. It is a race, but everyone who makes it across the finish line – no matter how long it takes or how ugly the race was – gets the same victor’s crown.

And if you decide you don’t have faith because you’ve been playing the comparison game and losing, you’re dead wrong.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” – Hebrews 11:1

Faith is when you know God and the good things He has for you. When you go after what you hope for, you’ll begin to see exactly how God works for you. It’s the evidence you can point to and say, “I know Jesus is for me because He’s already done this, and this, and this in my life.”

I call that an inventory of faith. Do you have an inventory of faith? Have you trusted Jesus and stepped into Promised Land believing for Jesus to show up? If not, take off your mask and make up your mind to step across that border. Better things await.

BETWEEN THE FATHER AND SON

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You are made in My image. When I see your heart break for the least of these, I see Myself. The resemblance runs deepest when you lift up the fallen or show your generosity to those who don’t expect it. You are My mirror.

BETWEEN THE FATHER AND SON

Jesus wants us to find our position in the Kingdom. He wants us to line ourselves up with this definition of love:

“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” – John 15:9

Before God created anything, the thing that coexisted, or abided, was the Father’s love for the Son and the Son’s love for the Father.

That’s first love. First love is not your love for the Father when you got saved. When Jesus revealed Himself to John on the Isle of Patmos, He was telling the Church of Ephesus that they had fallen – or more accurately – had removed themselves from a place they were never suppose to leave.

“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” – John 17:20

What was that place? Unity. Communion. Abiding.

Jesus said the Father loved Him “before the foundations of the world.” The Church of Ephesus had left the place of first love – the positioning between the Father and the Son.

The Ephesian Church got out of alignment with the love the Father has for the Son and the Son’s love for the Father. Believe me, standing in a place between the Father and Son means the Father sees Jesus when He looks at you and vice versa.

Can you picture that? It’s the place of first love and it’s where you were designed to be. Have you lost your first love?
