OF OLD, FROM EVERLASTING

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am the Ancient of Days – older than time. I Am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the end, the First and the Last. I Am the same yesterday, today and forever. I never change. There is no shadow of turning from My love for you.

OF OLD, FROM EVERLASTING

Jesus was God Almighty in flesh form. My how the angels must have been amazed! To know the ultimate God of the universe, then see Him do something as audacious as to become a tiny baby in a teenager’s womb. That must have blown their minds.

Well, that’s what I want to do today – blow your mind. Usually, when we read this amazing prophecy, we focus on Bethlehem, the place Jesus would be born. I want to show you something else today – something hidden right in front of us.

“But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” – Micah 5:2

Isn’t it interesting that there are two different timelines? “From old,” which is a natural timeline, and “everlasting,” which is a supernatural timeline. The prophet is saying the Messiah going to be natural and supernatural at the same exact time.

He’s also talking about eternity versus time. The Word who created time and space would make Himself subject to time and space. Eternity came into time and it was a game-changer because it also made eternity possible again for man.

Do you see it? My how the angels marveled at the wisdom, the sacrifice and the sheer beauty of the creator redeeming His fallen creation. Are you fallen today? Is there an area of your life that needs a heavenly touch? Jesus is the answer from “of old, from everlasting.”

MYSTERY SOLVED: 10 things you didn’t know about Christmas

Prophetic Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021

Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX

#1 BOTH MARY AND JOSEPH HAD A PROPHETIC GIFT / LANGUAGE WITH THE LORD

Mary: prophetic encounters

Luke 1:26-38“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth. 27 To a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; Blessed are you among women!” 29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call his name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His Kingdom there will be no end.” 34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.”

Joseph: Prophetic Dreamer

Joseph is namesake of Joseph the Dreamer / Dream interpreter from Exodus

Matthew 1:20But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”

LATER DREAM, ANGEL SAID FLEE TO EGYPT

#2 THE TOWER OF THE FLOCK IS THE ACTUAL PROPHESIED BIRTHPLACE OF JESUS

Micah 5:2But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

Another obscure prophecy takes it down to the square foot where the baby Jesus would be born.

Micah 4:8And you, O tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, to you shall it come, even the former dominion shall come, the kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem.

“Tower of the flock” AKA “Migdol Eder” – the place Jacob buried Rachel in Genesis 35:19-21

King David’s family land where he protected his family’s sheep from the bear and the lion.

Just outside of Bethlehem city, spotless passover lambs were kept by specially trained and purified shepherds.

Wrapped in special swaddling clothes–the leftover priestly garments–white robes stained with the blood of past sacrifices.

These priestly robes were torn into strips and used for two purposes

1. The making of wicks for the Menorah

2. To wrap perfect sacrificial lambs – like Jesus.

Luke 2:12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

JESUS AS THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB:

John 1:29The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Revelation 12:11And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.

Revelation 17:14These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

#3 THE ACTUAL DAY JESUS WAS BORN WAS ASSUREDLY PASSOVER OR 1 NISSAN ON THE JEWISH CALENDAR

Luke 2:8-14Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Shepherd living in the fields at night meant it was lambing season—the spring. Ewes generally gave birth at night and needed help so the lambs would not get damaged, deformed, hurt or worse.

Jesus also died on 1 Nissan – Passover

In the Vatican vaults is a writing by an early church father named Hippolitus. The Catholic Church says he fixed the date to December 25, but, if you dig further you find a censored writing showing Hippolitus crossed that out and said “No, He was born Nisan 1.”

#4 GOD IS VERY ORDERLY – HE USES THE JEWISH FEASTS TO ILLUSTRATE THE LIFE, DEATH & RESURRECTION OF JESUS – THEY ARE HIS PROPHETIC CALENDAR OF EVENTS. THIS IS HOW WE CAN KNOW THE DATES.

The central events of Jesus’ life take place on Hebrew Holy days.

The very first Jewish holiday was Shabbot HaGadol (Palm Sunday) when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on 10 Nissan. The Jewish law was to “take a lamb into your home on the tenth of Nissan.” Jesus came into Jerusalem—the Jewish “home” on the tenth of Nissan as the Lamb of God.

“Kill the lamb on the fourteenth of Nissan” (Passover), the Lamb of God was killed on the fourteenth of Nissan (Passover).

He became the Bread of Life (the feast of unleavened bread) on the fifteenth of Nissan (a High Holy sabbath) and was resurrected on the feast of Firstfruits (on the seventeenth of Nissan).

#5 THE SHEPHERDS WERE AT THE BIRTH OF CHRIST, THE WISE MEN WERE NOT

Matthew 2:1-2Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king (another clue to the timing of Jesus’ birth), behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

Wise men; Magi (magician); astronomers

From the East: Persia / Iran – taught by Daniel in Babylon 400 years earlier to look at the stars for the birth of the Jewish Messiah and King of the Universe

How many wise men? Nobody knows! There were three gifts, but could have been dozens of wise men.

Matthew 2:9-11When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him.

House – not Tower of the Flock

Young child – not baby

Research shows up to 2 years after Jesus’ actual birth (possibly late December)

THE STAR: In the spring of 6 BC, Jupiter, Saturn, Venus and Mars converged to make a bright light in the sky.  Jupiter: the King Planet. Venus: the Mother

Ancient Astronomer named Ptotleme said, “The land of Judea and its surrounding region was linked to the Constellation Aries the Ram.” So when the star linked Jupiter with Aries, they recognized the sign of Daniel’s King being born in Judea.

#6 GOD PROVIDES: THE PROPHETIC GIFTS OF THE WISE MEN BANKROLLED MARY, JOSEPH & JESUS FOR 10 YEARS, MAYBE MORE

Matthew 2:11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh

Strange gifts for a toddler, but not for a King

Gold: God’s manifest presence—God with Us—Immanuel

Frankincense: used in perfumes and medicines. A picture of Jesus’ life and ministry.

Myrrh: Song of Solomon calls this “tears from a tree.” It is a spice made from resin from the cutting of a tree. Used in embalming.

Frankinsence & Myrrh: ingredients of the sacred anointing oil.

Matthew 2:13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” 14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, 15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”

#7 JESUS IS THE 77TH GENERATION FROM ADAM IN MARY’S BLOODLINE

Luke 3:23-38 Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli… the son of Nathan, the son of David, 32 the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz…34 the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham… the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of Lamech, 37 the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Cainan, 38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

77 is the number of the Church or Body of Christ

Church in Bible 77 times

House of God in Bible 77 times

77th verse of Old Testament

Genesis 2:31Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.

77th verse of New Testament

Matthew 4:12(Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry) – Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee.

77 in Scripture

Ezra 8:35 (offerings by those returning from Babylon to Jerusalem)The children of those who had been carried away captive, who had come from the captivity, offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve male goats as a sin offering. All this was a burnt offering to the Lord.

#8 ACCORDING TO MATTHEW 1:7:

14 GENERATIONS FROM ABRAHAM TO DAVID

14 GENERATIONS FROM DAVID TO THE DIVINE DISRUPTION OF BABYLON

14 GENERATIONS FROM CAPTIVITY IN BABYLON TO KING JESUS

14 is about generational promises

14th verse in NT

Matthew 1:14 – Joseph’s genealogy

14 in Scripture

Genesis 31:41 (Jacob works another 7 years for Rachel – 14 altogether)Thus I have been in your house twenty years; I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your flock, and you have changed my wages ten times.

Genesis 46:22These were the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: fourteen persons in all.

Numbers 28:16 (The firstborn of Israel under the blood are spared from the Destroyer)‘On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover of the Lord.

1 Chronicles 25:5All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to exalt his horn. For God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

#9 JESUS IS THE RIGHTFUL KING OF ISRAEL

Luke 1:6 (Geneaology of Jesus through Joseph)… and Jesse begot David the king. David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.

Matthew 1:20But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.”

Only other person in scripture called “Son of David was Jesus”

Reference to fact both Joseph and Jesus were rightful heirs to the throne

THE BIG RIPOFF

Herod, the King, was not even a Jew. Edomite– descendant of Esau who sold his birthright (God’s promise) for a bowl of beans. Esau only person is scripture God said he despised.

SELLING BIRTHRIGHT WAS AKIN TO BLASPHEMY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

John the Baptist was the rightful High Priest of Israel

Priesthood passed down from father to son. His daddy was Zacharias, a high priest.

John 1:19-20Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?” 20 He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”

They didn’t ask because they didn’t know who John was. They knew exactly who he was and who his daddy was. They asked to see if he knew who he was.

John could have demanded his place in the priesthood at any time. The Pharisees feared him.

Instead, he willingly gave the title of High Priest over to Jesus at the Baptism, where he diminished himself.

#10 – SINCE JESUS IS THE FINAL TRUE KING OF THE WORLD AND WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD (HEIRS) BY FAITH, HE SHARES WITH ROYALTY WITH US. THAT MAKES US BOTH PRIESTS AND KINGS!

Galatians 3:26For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 4:7Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

Romans 8:14For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Romans 8:16-17The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

2 Corinthians 6:18“And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.

Revelation 1:6and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 20:4-6 (The Saints Reign with Christ 1,000 Years)And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for [a]a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

TASTE AND SEE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am the Bread of Life. Only I satisfy and only I sustain. Just like the manna from heaven, I renew you. Look for Me each day with expectancy. I will fill you to overflowing.

TASTE AND SEE

Do you remember the manna that fell from heaven? It was bread that couldn’t be defined or explained. It was supernatural but natural at the same time. Like the Bible foretold, a baby was born in Bethlehem. He was supernatural and natural at the same time – 100 percent God and 100 percent man.

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” – 2 Corinthians 9:15

The name Bethlehem means “house of bread.” That’s pretty profound, isn’t it? That’s a big deal. Why would the Messiah be prophetically called to be born in a city called “the house of bread”? Because He is supernatural and natural at the same exact time and that’s what manna was.

Manna is a type and a shadow for Jesus Christ. It’s something that shows up every single day of your life and you don’t know where it comes from or how it’s even there and your life is good because of that.

“…I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” – John 6:35

Because Jesus is there, you go through things that should kill you, but they don’t because this power of God shows up on a daily basis and manifests. You know how to walk it out, but you don’t know how to explain it to anybody.

Isn’t it amazing how coming to God is what satisfies us, and believing in the Lord is what satisfies our thirst? Taste and see that the Lord is good. Drink deep and know that Jesus is our indescribable gift.

ALL YOU NEED

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am the Bread of Life and the Living Water. With Me, you will be satisfied because I Am good. I never leave you nor forsake you. Come and sup with Me.

ALL YOU NEED

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, which means “House of Bread.” Guys, do you remember the manna that fell from heaven? It was bread that couldn’t be defined or explained. It was supernatural but natural at the same time.

Just like the Bible foretold, the baby born in Bethlehem would be supernatural and natural at the same exact time. He was indescribable because He was 100 percent God and 100 percent man at the same time.

Jesus was a natural piece of “bread” that didn’t come from earth. He came from heaven and He was born in what city? Bethlehem, “The House of Bread.” That’s pretty profound, isn’t it? That’s a big deal.

So, why would the Messiah be born in a city called the house of bread? First, because He is supernatural and natural at the same exact time and that’s what manna was. Manna is a type and a shadow for Jesus Christ. It’s something that shows up every single day of your life. You don’t know where it comes from or how it’s there, but it’s there and your life is good because of it.

When Jesus is there, you go through things that should kill you, but they don’t because the power of God shows up on a daily basis and manifests. Like manna, He’s your provision. Like that mysterious bread, He’s your lifeline.

And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. – John 6:35

Like manna, Jesus is satisfying. He’s all you need.

TO BE ALONE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am Three in One. I created you in My image when I created man, woman and the Church. Together, we are complete in the fullness of eternal promise.

TO BE ALONE

I have officiated hundreds of weddings in my 20 years in ministry. I have also attended a few, and one thing I can be certain of: Genesis 2:23-24 will be preached.

It’s beautiful the way God knew it was not good to be alone. If it wasn’t good for Him, it sure wouldn’t be good for the first man, Adam. It’s amazing how the Lord made woman. She completed Adam and, together, they completed God’s family. He was their Groom. They were His bride.

But because of their rebellion, sin and death entered the world and corrupted everything – especially their relationship with their Groom. Thousands of years in the future, Jesus Christ – the second man Adam – would actually complete the mission of the first Adam, to have a bride.

Jesus hung on the cross and when His side was pierced, blood and water mixed came out and the Bride of Christ – the Church – was born.

The whole point of humanity is not just to be His servants. That’s what the Lord has angels for. The point of humanity is for you and me to be His Bride. He wants to share all that He has with you.

My friends, it’s not crazy to seek God in a radical way. That’s what romance is all about and that’s what God Almighty created you for. He is love. Love requires intimacy – a special secret place of relationship. Why? Because it is not good for you to be alone. Seek Him and you’ll find Him.

For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.  – 2 Corinthians 11:2

BLESSINGS OR CURSES?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am not a man that I could lie. I Am true to My Word. In the Old Testament, curses were passed down because there was no redemption. When My beloved Son came, that changed. He purchased redemption for all of you. Come to Me and be set free.

BLESSINGS OR CURSES?

Make no mistake, many curses come from your bloodline. Where there’s a curse in your family history, I guarantee it’s because there is no redemption. Redemption removes the curse. Here are some examples:

“…you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me…” – Exodus 20:5

Iniquities are generational curse passed down because of a word spoken against someone or an inner vow being made – akin to saying, “I will never,” “I cannot,” “I won’t.” When you say things like this, you’re taking the future out of God’s hands. Now, He can’t use you in that situation because you refuse to be used.

Now, here’s an understanding of a blessing that is generational because there is redemption,

“…but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” – Exodus 20:6

This is a curse where there is no redemption:

“Our fathers sinned and are no more, but we bear their iniquities.” – Lamentation 5:7

Here’s an example of where it’s right and there is redemption:

“You show lovingkindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them—the Great, the Mighty God, whose name is the Lord of hosts.” – Jeremiah 32:18

What’s real is, both of these things are happening at the same time. There is a curse being passed down and there is also a blessing depending upon which side of the Cross you live on. You and I need to be determined, right here, right now, that we’re going to live on the Promised Land side of the Cross and not the Egyptian side of the Cross. Amen.

That as Christians, you and I get to live out something that blesses us and blesses everything behind us. Christ purchased redemption for all on the cross. Break the chains that bind so you too can be free.

WHAT IT MEANS TO “STICK WITH JESUS”

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Where My Spirit is, there is freedom. You are indwelled with My Holy Spirit, but have you let Him set you free? Talk to Him. Build a relationship with Him so He can fill you to overflowing and you will never be in bondage again.

WHAT IT MEANS TO “STICK WITH JESUS”

Have you ever stopped to think that the first message Jesus preached was on freedom?

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release to oppressed…” – Luke 4:18

He didn’t go to prison to preach that. He went to church. He went to the synagogue. What?!? I’m telling you, there is more bondage in religion than any other chain man can put on you.

“…because some false brothers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves.” – Galatians 2:4

That’s the agenda of religious folk – to make us slaves. The chains of a religious spirit tell you to conform, follow their rules, and keep in step with them as they put Jesus in a box and place heaven far, far away from the very people who need to know Jesus and get into His Kingdom. So, how do you keep from falling under the yoke of a religious spirit?

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” – Galatians 5:1

Brother Paul is saying you need to stand in a way that you are held fast, “Stand fast” as though your feet are nailed down to the floor of liberty. He’s saying to not let go of your liberty because you’re going to be tempted – often – to give it away. Let me tell you why you’ll be tempted to give it away: for free stuff – for the promise of something else.

You see it all around you today. People will give up what’s true for something dramatic. Do not give your freedom to the mob. Let your spirit, mind and heart get lined up with what God says – not with what a denomination or the Kardashians say. That’s what it means to stick with Jesus.

ACTS NOT WORKS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

The way to My throne room is through the servant’s entrance. Do I not love the poor, the widow and the orphan? Do you? Demonstrate My love and I will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.

ACTS NOT WORKS

I say serving is power because serving is demonstrating Jesus. For a very long time, the American church was the center of society because it selflessly served people. Who do you think built all the hospitals, orphanages, libraries and great universities? Christians did that. We served society on every level.

I think one of the main reasons the Church has been so impotent in this country is because there’s been so little serving. The government stepped in and said, “We’ll take that responsibility,” and the Church rolled over and let it happen.

My friends, the American Church should have raised holy hell and said, “Jesus is the foundation of this land and the church ain’t giving up nothing!” But we didn’t and the government is now feeding, housing, educating, counseling, and caring for the people the Church has a mandate to reach for Jesus.

You want to see where the power of the Holy Spirit is? In serving. Show me a body that is serving and I’ll show you some Holy Spirit power.

The power of God is seen through serving and my friend, that’s a huge Kingdom principle. Don’t have enough power in your life? You need to serve people in a much more radical way.

This isn’t works. This is about acts. There is a difference between acts of faith and works toward trying to get saved. I’m not working to be saved, I’m already saved. Jesus did the work. I’m just acting upon the fact that I am saved. Acts of service give us power beyond our own salvation to bring others into salvation.

So, get up and serve! Act on the salvation you’ve been given and pass it on to someone who needs it. It will save them and bless you.

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. – Hebrews 6:10

LIVING THE LIE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I know the plans I have for you, but they don’t come to pass just because I have spoken them into you. I will never force them on you. Partner with Me to bring heaven to your earth this day.

LIVING THE LIE?

Years ago, I needed a breakthrough word from the Lord. I decided to buy a ticket to a T.D. Jakes conference on identity, purpose and destiny. I set off for the Potter’s House, his infamous church of drop-dead, sold-out Jesus freaks in Dallas.

The man of God walked out on the stage, the crowd got silent and my pen became poised over my journal. With no fanfare, he said these words that have forever changed my life, “It is one thing for God to reveal to you His plan. It is another thing for you to conform your life to the image of His plan.”

What?!? You mean I have some responsibility and input into my purpose and destiny? Shut up! That one revelation has freed me to “move about the cabin” as they say.

Need an example? Well, it’s one thing for King Jesus to give Judas the money bag. It’s another thing for Judas to start living like he’s not a thief anymore. Judas got as much Kingdom as he wanted, which was zero because he insisted on living the lie – something other than God’s plan.

It’s up to you to determine how much of the Kingdom you get into your life. God has already said, “Yes.” Your job is to say, “Amen” or “let it be established” to the permission He gives you.

Can you give up your hurts, habits and hangups to go after the thing God has for you? Can you overcome the doubts, fears and friends who are not willing to let you move off their couch? Don’t live the lie, partner with the plan.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. – Proverbs 19:21

THE CHURCH HAS LEFT THE BUILDING

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I left heaven to introduce Myself to you. Will you leave your comfort and your fear to introduce Me to others? It is your calling. Go and make disciples.

THE CHURCH HAS LEFT THE BUILDING

You know I’m an outreach fanatic because we have to extend a hand outside of our comfort zone to bring Jesus to the lost and hurting. “But Pastor Troy, I invite people to church.”

My friend, I’m glad for that, but have you noticed Jesus preached at the synagogue a lot? As a matter of fact, it was the perfect place to reach the Jews because they were religious.

And he taught in their synagogue, being glorified by all. – Luke 4:15

Just like that, brother Paul went to Mars Hill in Acts 17. That was a place in Athens dedicated to the god Mars where there was a statue to an “unknown God.” What does that mean?

Well, the Greeks and the Romans were very religious. They worshipped hundreds of gods. Afraid they would be punished for forgetting one of these false deities, they covered their backsides by building a statue to the “unknown god.”

Little did they know, that unknown God was the only real God they worshipped.

Paul went to that place and introduced them to a very real God they had not known before. Aren’t you glad he didn’t demand all those heathens and idolaters come to church to hear about Jesus? He went into their ungodly culture and used something in their ungodly culture to point to Jesus.

I like how Paul does things. We need to go where the people are worshipping the gods of alcohol, drugs, porn, entertainment, anger, and self. We need to reach out to the hungry, homeless and hopeless and tell them about a God they’ve never known. He will meet them just as they are.

So reach out. Go where the people are and extend a helping hand in Jesus’ name. The Church has left the building.
