Ho Ho Bits

christmascandycanesI suppose I should issue a bit of a warning to let you know that the next few weeks of bits will likely be holiday related.

:)

1) Real or fake (we’re talking trees, here)?

2) Do you like eggnog?

3) What kind of cookies did Santa get at your house when you were a kid?

4) Tell us something you asked Santa for as a kid (could be something you got or didn’t get)…

Back When…

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mom and a writer.

That’s it.

A mom and a writer.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? You can give us a straight answer, or write it as if you’re a kid, who’s just dreaming about the ultimate “big person” job…

What’s Shakin’

angusSpent the past few days doing a final galley read of SUSPENDERED SENTENCE (release date: March 3rd). I read a little everyday, making notes of any typos or mistakes I found.

During the last day of reading, I had a little company…see?

Got that turned back around to my editor on Monday afternoon, and then spent yesterday getting caught up on mailings, etc.

Today, I’m back in writing-mode (Amish # 5) in the form of what I call “bullet-pointing.” I don’t outline the entire book in advance, but, sinc...

Books, Books, and More Books

I’ve got a few book-related questions for you today.

1) What’s your favorite Christmas-themed story/book?

2) What are you reading right now?

3) Do you like getting books as gifts?

~Elizabeth (a.k.a. Laura)

P.S. There’s a holiday interview with me over on Cozy Mystery Reviews today. It was a fun one to do, so maybe you’ll enjoy reading it. There’s also a nice giveaway tied to the interview, so check it out if you can HERE.

Traditions Behind the Traditions

3-christmas-globes-on-branchIt’s December 1st, and I’m getting kind of giddy about the upcoming Christmas holiday (I’m kind of a Christmas junkie).

Yesterday, before the college kids went back to school, we put up the tree. The assembly portion of our artificial tree falls to me andDD # 2. I think this year was our fastest time yet. :) We then move on to lights, which are promptly redistributed around the tree by DD # 1. Once the squint test is performed (don’t ask or you’ll hate me every time you put up a tree from this...

Turkey Bits

It seems only fitting that today’s Bits & Pieces be Thanksgiving-related, doesn’t it?turkey

Here we go…

1) Other than eating, is there anything else that’s always part of your Thanksgiving?

2) Is there a side-dish that you always pass up?

3) White or dark meat?

4) Favorite dessert on Thanksgiving?
