Ta Da!

Well, I did it. I finished the revisions/tweaks/edits on my latest book (Amish Mystery # 5) and officially sent it to my editor at 1 p.m. yesterday afternoon!

My grand celebration on the immediate heels of pressing “send?”

A shower.

Do I know how to celebrate or what? :)

Oh, and I got to work on a few blogs and interviews I needed to take care of for the upcoming launch of Amish # 4 (SUSPENDERED SENTENCE) on March 3rd. I still have a few more of those to finish up today and then I can truly take s...

Five Things

I’ve been a revising/editing fool the past few days and it appears as if I just may wrap everything up today. Stay tuned on that…

In the meantime, I have a question for you.

Off the top of your head, tell me five things that made you happy–truly, truly happy.

Ready? Go!

Pass The Popcorn

free popcornIt always seems as if the December/January time frame has some of the best movies of the year.

Yes, I know MOCKING JAY came out in November (and it was very good), but the last few weeks of movies have beenfun.

DD # 1 is a huge fan of musicals, so she convinced the rest of us to see INTO THE WOODS shortly after Christmas. I thought it was a fun movie (DD #1 loved it so much she’s seen it three times).

We saw the HOBBIT. The girls and I were pretty lost since we’ve not really seen these movies, b...

A Long Weekend

It’s a 3-day weekend!

If you have one–enjoy!

If you don’t–try to find at least a little time to relax.

Me? I’m working on edits.

Bits

Zero chapters left!!! :)

I’ll start editing/revising on Monday, but for now…it’s time to take a deep breath and enjoy some bits & pieces!

1) What’s the worst meal you ever prepared?

2) If you were going to skip one meal, which would you choose to skip?

3) What’s the longest you’ve ever waited on hold?

4) What is something from your life that is most likely to end up in a museum?

5) What’s the first thing you learned to cook?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Same Path, Different Gait

Two chapters left… :)

If you’re keeping track this week, you’ll notice I jumped ahead by two chapters from yesterday to today. And honestly, I was quite tempted to stay up last night and finish the last two chapters, but I decided to opt for sleep, instead.

It’s a tricky call, though. When you get to the last 10,000 words (translation: 40 pages), it’s hard to stop writing. You, like the reader who will eventually be reading it in book form, want to know what happens. Sure, I have a plan…and even...

If You Could Pick…

Four chapters left to write…

In other news, it was brutally cold here last night (6 degrees if the weather guy on the local news was actually correct). Brrrrr…. I am so not a fan of cold weather.

What would be your ideal temperature? Your ideal setting to be in at this moment?

Mine would have to be 80 degrees if I’m at the beach. 70 degrees if I’m not. With lots and lots of happy sunshine.

My Reading Carrot

Five chapters left to write…

This means I’m getting closer to being able to switch to edits and then…some time off. :)

Which means reading time for Laura! ;) Yay! littlehousebook

On the top of my pile? Well, as of Saturday night, it became this thanks to my dear friend, Lynn D.:

It’s MelissaGilbert’s cookbook. Only instead of just recipes, it’s a look back at her time onmy favorite TV show, Little House on the Prairie. There are pictures from the set, behind-the-scenes stories, recipes made on the set, and even “bl...

Snow Day

snowflakeToday is supposed to be an overall icky day. Snow, sleet, rain–ick!

If I wasn’t in the home stretch of a book right now, I’d grab a blanket, a mug of hot chocolate (with caramel sauce), some leftover birthday cake (yum!), and cuddle into a corner of the couch with a book.

But I am in the home stretch of a book… :(

What do you like to do on a “snow day?”
