Hooked

I had a fabulous day in the city yesterday.

I did a little reading (of something I wrote a while ago–and will be putting out on e-book soon).

I met my agent for lunch. We went to a Korean place on East 32nd Street. It was one of the cool places where you take off your shoes and sit at one of those floor tables with your feet in a recessed (warmed!) pit. Very cool. hanks

Then I rode the subway uptown to 51st and met a friend. We hung out and gabbed or a few hours, then headed out to dinner (it was her...

Stay Tuned…

I’m heading down to the city today to have lunch with my agent and hang out with a friend. Even going to my first NHL game (maybe I’ll see a fight!).

I’ll be back tomorrow with a full report…and pictures!

What Would You Do?

So today I’m off to get some maintenance done on my car. I need front brakes, a new air filter, and some new wiper blades. All that fun stuff that adds up to some $$.

Which leaves me dreaming about what I’d do if I won25 K…

So here’s my rundown (and we’ll assume that’s after taxes)…

1. bills

2. I’d put a down payment on a new car. I love my car, don’t get me wrong. But it also has 119,000 miles on it.

Alas, since I have not won 25 K, I will keep my fingers crossed it keeps on going. :)

So what would...

Snow. Again.

It’s snowing again.

All through December and most of January, nada in terms of snow. Now, suddenly, we’re getting it every three to four days.

Ugh.

So I’ll be baking again today (the one up side to the snow).

And reading.

And looking forward to Wednesday when I get to have lunch with my agent, meet up with a friend, and go to my first-ever NHL game with said friend later in the evening. Now that will be a fun day…

What’s the weather like by you today?

Throw Back Bits

I’m heading back to high school today for my alma mater’s annual “Career Day.” school desk

Seems fitting for today’s Bits & Pieces to be school-related.

1) How long has it been since you last stepped foot in your high school? If it’s been more than fifteen years, could you still find the cafeteria? The library?

2) Favorite high school teacher?

3) Least favorite high school teacher?

4) Could you still find your locker?

5) Class you still use most today?

Won’t You Try?

I can hardly believe January is almost over. That said, I wish winter would be over, too. I’m itching for some warmer weather and a chance to be outside. It’s been so cold the last few days, even the cat doesn’t want to go out (and he’s a hooligan). writergirl

So I thought maybe I could entice some of you into writing something today?

I’m thinking a paragraph from the view point of a kid in school…looking out the window at snow. You can make him/her like it, or hate it…just let us feel what he’s feeling...

Day 3

Ahhhh, Day # 3 and a reminder that life has it’s own plans and they don’t always coincide with ours (like the snowstorm that had its fingers on Day # 1 and # 2)…

Instead of heading to the bookstore and having a “date for a treat” with my youngest after school, said youngest is home…with possible strep. So now, my excursion out of the house will be to the doctor’s office for a strep test.

You can’t make this stuff up, you know?

On a side note, my day also has a WebEx in it now, too. I’m becoming...

Day 2

Well, Snowmageddon wasn’t quite as bad as they predicted. Or, at least it wasn’t here where I live.

We still got snow (a decent amount), but nothing catastrophic. And if we had strong wind last night, I slept through it.

Yesterday was officially Day # 1 of my Guilt-Free Time Off. I spent 6 1/2 hours of that time in NYC at the So You Think You Can Dance auditions with DS # 2. He made it past the preliminary round and got to audition in front of the show’s judges (which includes Paula Abdul this...

And So It Begins…

It’s 2:47 a.m. (E.T.) and I’m writing this blog while waiting for Snow-pocalypse here in the northeast.

snowmanWe got some snow over the weekend (about 6.5 inches)…enough to have to shovel (I swear, my aches from shoveling get worse every year).

But, I did get to make a snowman with my daughter, too. And I’ve been waiting to make a snowman all winter (of course, when I got home from my daughter’s dance show at school about 4 hours ago, I removed the scarf and hat from our snowman since–in about 14 hou...

Bitty Bits

Time for Bits!

1) Theater or movie?

2) Hike or bike?

3) Crash with friends or stay in a hotel?

4)Hawaii or Alaska?

5) View pictures on a computer or in an album?

Have a great weekend, everyone!
