Time To Play
Bypassing the “writing Thursday” thing and taking today’s blog in a different direction.
One of my promises to myself this year is to play more. I don’t do enough of that, and I need to change that.
Last week, I went outside and made a snow angel (pictorial proof right here) and tried to throw snowballs at my oldest daughter while she stood in the back doorway (I missed every time).
In a few weeks, I’ll be heading to New Jersey to watch a basketball game between Seton Hall and my alma mater, Xa...

‘Fess Up
They’re talking about some really cold temperatures on tap for today.
Really, really, reallycold.
As in footie-pajamas-all-day kind of cold.
Now that we’ve established my favorite clothes item (they’re red, by the way…with little black Mickeyears all over them)what’s yours?

Peeking Over Your Shoulder
While I wish I could say I’m happily immersed in a book at this moment, I’m not. Not in terms of reading a book, anyway. I have three more weeks of writing before I get to take a two week break (I’m virtually drooling at the thought).
So how about you? What are you reading right now? And what’s next on your pile?Any recommendations you care to pass on for my upcoming break?

A Different Approach
One good thing about getting a little older is actually knowing who you are–what you want and how you work.
A decade ago (even half a decade ago), I’d make “resolutions” at the start of each new year only to have them disappear under a pile of things I had to do. Then, a few years ago, I changed my mindset to goals. No longer was it “things I’d try to get to,” but, rather, “things I would accomplish.”
For whatever reason, putting everything into more of a “to do” listmade all the difference (I...

New Year Bits
Let’s start off the year with a little looking back/looking forward bits…
1) What one thing are you most proud of from 2014?
2) Biggest goal for 2015?
3) If you could insert one person from your past into your 2015, who would it be?
4) If you could spend New Year’s Eve in any one city in the world, where would you pick?

A Nod To The Good
I can hardly believe we’re in the final day of yet another year. It seems like it was yesterday that I was writing my end-of-2013 blog.
In honor of the day, I figured I’d share a few of my highlights from the year. I hope you’ll do the same in the comments…
Some of my 2014 highlights (in no particular order):
1) SHUNNED AND DANGEROUS (Amish # 3) was picked up for Doubleday and various other book clubs when it released last March. That was a first for me!
2) I pitched a brand new cozy series idea...

Recappin’ & Plannin’
I hope your Christmas was full of joy, family, and a few unexpected surprises. Mine certainly was.
On Christmas Eve we made and decorated sugar cookies (I’ve included a before and after photo for you to see, as well as one of me holding up my favorite), had a delicious dinner, watched Rudolph, and went to church. Christmas Day brought presents, a full-out breakfast spread, dinner, a drive through light display, and a treat bar.
Now, of course, it’s time to look ahead to the next “big” day–New...

Merry Christmas
In the interest of the holidays, this will be my last post for the week. I’ll be back on the 29th.
In the meantime, here are a few bits for those interested in playing along.
1) Favorite Christmas song?
2) Do you have a must-have food for Christmas breakfast?
3) What do you want to eat for Christmas dinner? Leave nothing out.
4) Walk us through a traditional Christmas Eve or morning in your house?
Merry Christmas, everyone!
