Updates and info!
First! The poll results! Lots of e-mailed votes, as well as the actual poll, and the comments and all that. The winner?
Well, apparently you all have
anahcrow
to thank for this, as the winner wasn't even originally on the list. So what's the R stand for, besides truth, justice, and sleeping late on Saturdays?
Radcliffe.
Vaughn Radcliffe Demont.
So, well, there's your answer. :)

Poll update...
Wow, I had no idea the response I'd get from this! :)
There's still time to vote here:

Or by sending a message over LJ, leaving a comment, or voting by e-mail at vaughndemont at yahoo dot com.
The current tally with all totaled:
1. 7 votes: Reuben
1. 7 votes: Radcliffe (5 of the votes were in the last 10 minutes. Write-in favorite, it seems)
3. 5 votes: Rowan
4. 4 votes: Rutherford
5. 2 votes: Randall
6. 1 vote: Ramsay
6. 1 vote: Just keep it an R.

What's the R stand for? You decide!
Okay, we haven't had a reader poll here in what, three weeks?
I mentioned earlier that I get a lot of e-mails about what the R in Vaughn R. Demont stands for, and despite my cheeky responses, I don't plan on keeping them up forever. So why not settle it and decide what the R does stand for?

Free Fiction Friday - Let The River Run - Part 10
Welcome back to Free Fiction Friday!
Sorry this wasn't a 12:01 posting. It was actually good to go last night but I kinda lapsed into a coma around midnight, suffered from lengthy vivid hallucinations with high psychological significance and emerged from the deluge of phantom sensory input around 9am with a rapidly deteriorating recall of the events. I've been told this is called "sleep".
I'm guessing 2 more chapters in "Let The River Run" before I take a minor hiatus to get back to work on the...

Note to self...
Never eat fried chicken again. Ever.
I'm a bit sick today. But if I can write, I'm going to write, mostly because my stomach finds the idea of sitting in one place and not moving all that much to be agreeable enough to allow me out of bed. FFF probably won't be a 12:01 posting this week, but I'm hoping to still make the 9pm deadline for tomorrow. Just try not to be too surprised if Chuck starts fantasizing about boxes of Saltines. Dry, tasteless, boring Saltines...

Reader Mail Mondays: Non-Softball Edition
No, there's no YouTube link. I'm without a camera and
that_guy_media
is in Vermont. Still though, I've received a few questions here and there that I thought I'd share and address. Sorry there's no captions or anything, this is the low-rent version. :)
I figured I'd start with the questions that aren't all that easy.
1. I loved The Vampire Fred, but the second half is so confusing! It's difficult to keep up with what's going on. It would've ended nicely right around the midway point, after...

Free Fiction Friday - Let the River Run - Part 9
Welcome back to Free Fiction Friday!
I would say that there's 2-3 chapters remaining in the story after this, and after that, well, I'll have to figure out what's going to be written next.
Work on Fred has to be pushed back again, mostly because House of Stone has been pushed up in Samhain's release schedule, and is now looking at a June 22nd e-release date. :) For those of you who helped me out last summer, don't worry, I still have the list, and your names or at least initials if you'd prefe...

Write What You Know
My father died ten years ago today.
Don't worry, I didn't remember either.
I can remember the exact moment though. I was sitting at my computer, talking the head of a Pagan website I was "interning" at, when the phone rang, my mom answered, and a few seconds later I heard, "It's your father!", but not in the way that says he's on the other end of the line. I can still remember the cracking of her voice, the strain of it, the tears that weren't restrained. I went numb for an hour or two, mostl...

So Dude, What's With the R?
Use a middle initial in your name, and invariably people will ask what it stands for. And seeing as I don't even give my students my first name when I'm substituting (Hey, you call me Mr. Demont.), I'll admit I've had a little fun with the people who've asked me what it stands for.
So, I love your books, but I have to ask, what's the R stand for?
The R stands for truth, justice, and sleeping late on Saturdays. Since I support the R's stance, I allow it to share its views.
What's the R mean?
