Tea With Friends Paranormal-Scope

Today has been extraordinary! It is Martin Luther King’s Day, a national holiday in the USA. My country also inaugurated Donald Trump as the new President. I went out to have tea with my gal pals. All in all, extraordinary and meaningful.

I am not qualified to read either stars or planets. I am intimately linked to the paranormal in the world in many ways. So are you.

The paranormal-scope is for entertainment and is not meant to guide your life.

Aries:
Gremlins are not afraid to ask for help from family/friends. If you feel you need help too, make some calls or visits.

Taurus:
Mermaids get together with friends. Plan a fun activity or outing with friends. Shake up your personal schedule to add in adventure.

Gemini:
Faeries have limits and you should too. Lending money to others could have a bad effect on your finances.

Cancer:
Werewolves love volunteering in their community. Find some cause you are passionate about and wouldn’t mind volunteering with them.

Leo:
Vampires sometimes seek out a partner. You know to go to movies together and late-night dinners. Be open and make friends first.

Virgo:
Shapeshifters are great networkers who prove it can open doors for advancement or new opportunities. Refresh your resume or portfolio. Have great-looking business cards at hand.

Libra
Goblins appear to be stuck with one point of view but it isn’t true. They are surprisingly open to new ideas. Practice listening to others and be open to a new perspective on matters.

Scorpio:
Unicorns enjoy returning to their old stomping ground where they find support and comfort. Renew old friendships that can become stronger.

Sagittarius:
Sirens have mastered using words for their benefit. Think first, before talking. Know the effect your words have on others.

Capricorn:
Sprites pause when they have a big idea before they run with it. Think, plan, and grow that plan with goals. You can do it.

Aquarius:
Pixies are private people. There is an advantage to having an air of mystery about you.

Pisces:
Elves create their own worlds. Give yourself a break and don’t check social media all the time. Do something fun.

Assorted Sundries On A Saturday By Susan Hanniford Crowley

In addition to writing, editing, and proofing, I have some other fun things on my plate. I do tons of research which I love. I especially love archeology and astronomy.

Just so everyone is on the same page:

Archeology studies human history and prehistory, through excavating sites and analyzing artifacts and other physical remains. It is rare in archaeology to work on organic materials.

Astronomy is the study of celestial objects and their properties, while physics is the study of the physical world and the laws that govern it. Astronomy is a sub-discipline of physics, and the two fields are closely related.

I’m starting with archeology. I am fascinated by the human footprints that were found and are being studied in White Sands National Park, New Mexico, USA. They are fossilized footprints that are among those of mammoths and giant sloths. They are believed to be about 21,000 to 22,000 or more old. That means that humans were here during the Ice Age. Now we’re onto Astronomy. We have two amazing events coming up.

We are having a Planetary Alignment on January 25, 2025. The planets involved are Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Mercury. This celestial event will be visible. You will see it better if you have a telescope or binoculars. Some planets are already becoming visible. I want to know how to see it where I live. Some places will see a total eclipse.

The total lunar eclipse in March 2025 will be visible from Connecticut if the skies are clear. I admit that has been a problem with our weird weather here.

The eclipse will begin March 13, 2025, at 11:57 PM ET and end March 14, 2025, at 6 AM ET.  Anyone on the night side of the Earth at the time of the eclipse can see it. North and South America will have the best views. 

You will need a location with a clear view of the moon and sky. The moon will appear completely shaded for just over an hour. 

There will be a solar eclipse in March as well, but I will talk about that on another blog.

A Red Fox Paranormal-Scope

Mermaids are studying ancient tomes to learn what ancestor mermaids have done.

Faeries have plunged into doing different forms of artwork. They find it relaxing. You may too.

Cancer:
Werewolves are organizing fitness groups and walking buddies. Before starting a new fitness plan, always confer with your physician.

Leo:
Vampires sleep a lot during this time of day. They wake at sunset to watch the sky for astronomical events. I prefer visiting planetariums to stay warm.

Virgo:
Shapeshifters are redoing their closets and getting rid of wrecked items and consider getting some new fashions or at least updated classics. It doesn’t have to be a lot to change up your look.

Libra
Goblins are focusing on self-care. That means don’t overextend with volunteer obligations.

Scorpio:
Unicorns are great listeners. Practice listening. It could serve you well when collaborating with others.

Sagittarius:
Sirens are reviewing their budgets. Pay off the holiday bills. Create a budget where you buy only what you need. Prepare for those surprise repair bills.

Capricorn:
Sprites are pacing themselves in preparation for a bold move. Go for your dreams!

Aquarius:
Pixies are tossing all things negative. They only want positive things and people. You might want to try this.

Pisces:
Elves are networking to try new forms of communication. So instead of frosting leaves, they are planting mushrooms in various colors. You might want to network differently.

Life & Writing Tools: Writing or Not through Bad Times By Susan Hanniford Crowley

These tools are for everyone!

I didn’t want to post a photo here as you see it everywhere in the news. The people in California are in deep trouble with the wild fires. So I have researched news services that have information about donating to help. In my humble opinion, NBC did a great job regarding how to donate and to whom. Now for the rest of us and those in a bad way (such as sitting in a hotel waiting out the fire), here is a way to vent your feelings. Getting emotions on paper, whether for publication or for freeing yourself of the pain, sadness, and anger, has been helpful to many.

If you had to run to save family, pets, and maybe a few other valuables, you may not have a notebook and pen or pencil. But I know you have your phone on you and hopefully your charger.

Write an email to yourself about what you are going through. Only do that if you want to. Some people prefer to be more analytical and write down what they need to do next. Write whatever helps you. Others like to dictate messages to themselves.

Writing does not help everyone. Here are some non-writing ideas.

Call a friend or family member who gives your comfort.Listen to music. Scroll through your photos on your phone. Note: Playing a game will usually run down the charge on your phone. Watching videos uses a lot of charge too. Do yoga poses if you know them.

My favorite things to do are to write but I also email friends. The main objective here is to do something that is calming for you. We all need something that keeps us going when the bad moments hit.

Goblins are careful of their money but it’s different when it’s taking care of themselves. Good health is everything. Talk with your physician about ways to improve your health.

Unicorns are creatures filled with imagination. Use your imagination to create and have a more satisfying life.

Writing Tools: Writing through Storms By Susan Hanniford Crowley

These tools are for the writers!

Keep pens/pencils and an old-fashioned paper journal or notebook close at hand. You may be inspired and then have a power outage.
Keep a paperback or two of the writing craft handy.
Before the storm, if you have a warning, back up your work with a flash drive (aka thumb drive), email it to yourself, or email it to your editor or a trusted friend. My editor knows to keep an email called The Title in Progress just in case. It always has the latest version of my novel attached.

That’s all for now. Backing up your work is a good daily practice.

Be warm, my friends, and read. It relaxes the body, boosts memory, improves concentration, and opens the heart to new and wonderful ideas.

Mermaids love the fireworks and surface near all the major cities to watch them. They wish they had TV. If it’s too cold where you are, being cozy at home and watching on TV is fun too.

Gemini:
Faeries are dancing to their own songs. Elves play the drums. Consider having a party.

Cancer:
Werewolves have gathered the pack. Some new friends have been included. Be open to meeting new people who are friends of friends.

Leo:
Vampires stand in the freezing cold and walk among the people who came out to see the fireworks. Sometimes it’s nice to be among human. Ah, memories. Enjoy them.

Virgo:
Shapeshifters have opted to watch movies instead. It’s okay to do what makes you feel comfortable.

Libra
Goblins are looking over the budget and the bills. They are pleased not to overspend too much. The bills are manageable if they spend modestly from now until Easter.

Scorpio:
Unicorns can dance among the fireworks and people think they are just fireworks too. Children can see more clearly with their eyes. Look for the magic! Be young at heart!

Sagittarius:
Sirens search for home as individuals. They are always looking for place that gives them peace of heart. Make your home cozy or make a plan to find a new place you’ve always wanted.

Capricorn:
Sprites have the urge to run into the New Year at light speed. Reconsider any fast decisions. Be wise and methodical in the New Year, which may require time.

Aquarius:
Pixies are still eating chocolate, but they are awake and dancing now. Invite some friends over!

Pisces:
Elves are wearing new robes that sparkle. Consider getting a new wardrobe or at least some sparkly pieces to wear!

Life Tools: Love Yourself, Part 2 By Susan Hanniford Crowley

Today’s Life Tools are easy but can be irritating because they are less than we usually do. I’m the kind of person who always wants to do something. All in all, you have to take care of yourself.

I had bronchitis before Christmas. I had a few good days and a great Christmas. Then I started getting sick all over again. It is really messing with my head so it’s hard to concentrate on writing. So what do you do, when you can’t do what you want to do?

Take naps, eat soup, drink tea. Be gentle on your body. If you went to the doctor, take your prescribed meds.
Do something else that doesn’t take the concentration needed for something more involved. I went to Canva.com and made a new photo ad for one of my books. It’s fun and I still feel rather productive. You can do anything you think is fun but doesn’t take a lot of energy.

If you’re also sick, the most important thing is getting well again.

Be warm, my friends, and read. It relaxes the body, boosts memory, improves concentration, and opens the heart to new and wonderful ideas.

Peaceful Paranormal-Scope

At the moment, people have celebrated the Winter Solstice and are preparing for Christmas and Hanukkah. Whatever you celebrate, I hope it gives you peace in your heart.

I am not qualified to read either stars or planets. I am intimately linked to the paranormal in the world in many ways. So are you.

The paranormal-scope is for entertainment and is not meant to guide your life.

Aries:
Gremlins are exhausted and sleeping. If things become overwhelming, it may be time to accept what is done and do the rest at another time.

Taurus:
Mermaids are watching the stars. They always do this time of year. Star gazing can be fun, if you’re dressed warmly and drinking a warm beverage.

Gemini:
Faeries are dancing in their warm homes in the forest watching the frosty world outside. They enjoy making s’mores. That’s a good idea.

Cancer:
Werewolves are watching the cubs play games. Some are glued to their phones, but others have chosen board games to play. Be open to all kinds of fun.

Leo:
Vampires are reading books and sipping their blood wine. Even though they can’t feel the cold, they enjoy the feel of being wrapped up in a fleece blanket. Being a cozy reader can be fun.

Virgo:
Shapeshifters are wrapping the last presents. Next, comes chilling out in front of a movie. Your choice!

Libra
Goblins are satisfied that they’ve kept within their budget. At this point, don’t spend more. But be aware that this is a matter for the following weeks. Worrying will only stress you.

Scorpio:
Unicorns are dozing in the warmth of family and friends. They dream of dancing across the world without fear or limits. Unicorns in themselves make great dreams.

Sagittarius:
Sirens are finding the strangest things in the surf. They helped a beach baby whale back to the sea and his mother. They are unexpected rescuers. You may hear from someone unexpected.

Capricorn:
Sprites are dancing to the piped music of elves. They just love celebrating. Listen to great music and if possible dance to it too.

Aquarius:
Pixies are reading, eating chocolate, and finally dozing. This is the season to sleep and cherish the good dreams we have.

Pisces:
Elves are playing their pipes for all that can hear. It is a music that echoes though the forests and makes them all enchanting to our eyes. Welcome those moments of enchantment in your life.

Life Tools: Love Yourself By Susan Hanniford Crowley

We received some snow! Not a lot but enough to be slippery!

Today’s Life Tools are easy. Anyone can do it and it focuses on self-care!

In Iceland, they celebrate Christmas Eve, by getting cozy, reading a book and eating cocoa. My variation of that would be to wrap myself in a blanket on the sofa, read a book, while drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows.

Make a craft or bake or do something you enjoy. I like making lace angels to give to family. I am also working on a new version of a gnome. I want to eventually make different ones for different seasons.

Invite family/friends over for a pot luck.

Send holiday ecards. My favorite site to do this is https://www.jacquielawson.com/ . They are not free, but are not super expensive. My oldest daughter sends cards through the mail. When she is running late, she also sends Happy New Year Cards. It’s Dec. 22nd and I’m still sending ecards.

Give yourself cozy naps. You can’t possibly get everything done. Forgive yourself if you don’t achieve everything on your holiday list. For instance, the gnomes may not be done in time.
