Brownies and Bars
We created a new "Brownies and Bars" category on Tasty Kitchen, because the recipes under that umbrella were overflowing and taking over the "Cookies" category.
To inaugurate this blessed new category, my friend Erika posted a celebratory smorgasbord of some of the best recipes for brownies and bars on Tasty Kitchen. I can't believe the motherlode.

Here's a peek at the recipes Erika features:

Summer Stir-Fry
Everything's relative, isn't it?
"Ideal weight" is relative. A person might not be visibly overweight, but according to his or her own standards, he or she might feel as though he or she has gotten pudgy over the past few months. His or her jeans might feel a little tight, and he or she might catch a glimpse of himself/herself in the mirror and realize that he or she has eaten a few too many doughnuts and chocolate pies. But still, it's all relative: to a very thin person, he or she might...

Mystery Mocha
I made this last night. It's a recipe from Tasty Kitchen, and while I was initially drawn to it because of its charmingly vintage name, I wound up loving it for one reason alone: it's absolutely scrumptious. It's hard to describe—part brownie, part lava cake, and with a yummy coffee flavor. The process of making the cake is so interesting, too; here's a peek:
This is the mystery part. Velly, velly intellesting.
And delicious! I highly recommend. Here's the step-by-step recipe:

Pineapple Mango Salsa
It's so hot here, and the bad news is that it's only June. What am I going to do a month from now? I'll be fanning myself and eating frozen grapes and floating in a cool bath just to survive. I wasn't cut out for this. I belong on the frozen tundra.
When it gets this hot and humid, cold food is all anyone wants around here. My stand-by pico de gallo recipe is an absolute summertime staple, and Marlboro Man could eat it with tortilla chips three times a day. It's the best. But for me, I like ...

Food for the Fathers
What you're seeing here is but a small glimpse into the many DUDES who are active members of Tasty Kitchen. These guys' contributions to my happy little recipe site can not be underestimated, as you'll see from the recipe collages my friend Erika put together:
Happy Father's Day, everyone! Celebrate the men in your life by cooking or baking something delicious today. And if you need a guide for what dudes love to eat, look no...

The Best Coffee Cake. Ever.
This is another one of the pirated recipes from my mother's blessed recipe binder, which she accidentally left at my house a couple of years ago. And when I returned the binder (she had issued a court order, so I really didn't have a choice), I may or may not have accidentally shaken the binder so that it would accidentally lose a few loose handwritten recipe cards that were tucked in the interior pockets, and I may or may not have tripped and fallen so that even more cards would spill out...

Big and Strong
Tomorrow I'll be posting a recipe that might—I'm not positive, but just might—contain more butter per square inch than any recipe I've ever shared with you. Get on the treadmill—stat.
Today, because Father's Day is upon us, I'm giving away three (3) KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixers in this industrial (read: not shiny and red) "Imperial Black" color. It's big, strong…and gray. Need I say more?
Also included is this handy attachment set, which will allow you to grate, chop, grind, extrude...

Olive Focaccia
I'm on an olive kick! Olive haters: please bear with me. This soon shall pass.
Olive lovers: this is a great recipe to make when you have a couple of half-jars of olives languishing in your fridge (Admit it. You have them!) It's olive focaccia—a flat Italian-style bread I make with my all-time favorite pizza crust. You can use whatever combination of olives you like—everything from pimento-stuffed little numbers to ultra-strong Kalamatas.

Chicken With Olives
I should back up and apologize from the bottom of my heart for loving pasta so much. But you see, the whole point of a website called "The Pioneer Woman Cooks" is to show you what The Pioneer Woman is cooking. I call myself The Pioneer Woman. I cook a lot of pasta. Ergo, I post a lot of pasta recipes here. And for those of you who don't like pasta, this is probably inconvenient.
What? What's that? What's that you say? You say that there isn't a person on earth who...
