Simple, Pan-Fried Pork Chops
Okay, people. Let's get down to business here. Let's get down to basics, let's get down to brass tacks, let's get down to the nitty gritty…
Let's fry up some pork chops.
Okay, if rocket science were people, these pork chops would be…Antarctica. These are the simplest, most delightful little numbers—ready in 5 to 10 minutes, flavorful, and exceedingly man-pleasing. And again, I don't intend to be a walking, breathing affront to feminism with statements like that. It just so happens that I am a...
The Winner
I wish I could have given away a truckload of these suckers…but that…wouldn't…exactly…be…practical.
But I promise you this: Miss Red Thing of Beauty up there will definitely be back soon.
The winner of yesterday's mixer contest is…#6054 Jessie. Here was Jessie's response:
Specken Dicken! It's a German dish that my husband's family eats around Christmastime. They're basically pancakes with anise flavoring. I look forward to it mainly because of tradition, but it is yummy, too.
I don't know ...

Hello, Lover.
I've been wanting to give this mixer away for a approximately 70 years. Well, I guess 70 years ago, it would still be another 30 years before I would be born one dark and stormy January night in the last year of the sixties…and still another 40 years before this 90th Anniversary KitchenAid mixer would even be produced. So technically, I've really only wanted to give this away for a few weeks now.
But those few weeks have seemed like 70 years. I guess that's what I was getting at.
I don't...

Baba Ghanoush!
Baba Ghanoush. Don't tell the cowboys, but this is one of those things in my recipe repertoire that falls under the category It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This. It's true. I absolutely love this stuff. Even though the cowboys wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
I'm happy with the life I've been given. I love my family. I'm okay with the cow that thinks it's a dog and sleeps on my porch. I can even make my peace with the flies. Maybe. And I embrace all of the country food I've had to...

Rosemary-Onion Bread with Blue Cheese Topping
Mmmm. I love rosemary bread. I especially love rosemary bread with onions. I especially love rosemary bread with onions and a layer of blue cheese melted on top. But I'm a little rebellious that way. This is one of the older recipes in my arsenal, and I love it so much.
I've been on a bit of a blue cheese kick lately. It's just so…so…so…rank. But a good kind of rank. Have you tried the onion-blue cheese sauce yet? Well, don't. It's too good. Your psyche and taste buds won't have anywhere to ...

PW on TK
I've been so busy keeping Tasty Kitchen running behind the scenes that I haven't spent much time submitting my own recipes there. But I had a little recipe-submission fit just now. As a result, my Tasty Kitchen recipe box is bulging.
A bulging recipe box. That's all I want in life.
I'm posting the links to some of my most recently submitted Tasty Kitchen (and Pioneer Woman) recipes below for two reasons:
1. You'll be able to print the recipes from their Tasty Kitchen pages. I haven't yet...

Foodblogging Fiesta
I just spent the weekend in San Francisco, where I attended the first-ever BlogHer Food conference. I was invited to speak on two panel discussions—invitations I accepted despite the fact that speaking in front of crowds is #83 on the list of the Top 100 Things I'd Rather Not Do In Life.
Some other items on the list:
#1 Eat a banana
#4 Sell real estate
#18 Run into an ex-boyfriend when I'm disheveled, not wearing make-up, and donning my holey yoga pants
#45 Attend any club meeting
#92 Have...

Simple Sesame Noodles
Often, simple is best.
Most of the time, simple is best. There are so many wonderful, inherently delicious flavors in the most simple ingredients, and you don't always have to grind and saute and mix and beat and sear and combine thousands of ingredients to make something utterly delicious.
Sesame noodles fall under that umbrella.
This is a very simple recipe for yummy sesame noodles. You can eat them by themselves. You can pair them with delicious roasted beef t...
Welsh Rarebit
Helen Corbitt would be so proud. Welsh Rarebit, also known as Welsh Rabbit, but I didn't want to call it Welsh Rabbit because a lot of people would say, "Gross! Rabbit!" even though there's no rabbit in Welsh Rabbit, and who the heck needs that confusion, is a perfectly vintage throwback to Sunday dinners and cocktail parties in the 1950's. I'm positively certain Dick van Dyke ate this traditional English dish of savory cheese sauce served over toast.
Welsh Rarebit isn't seen in the...
KitchenAid Winners
The two winners of the KitchenAid stand mixer are:
#3617 PennyJ: "Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant in Portland, OR. It has been there 117 years, right downtown, and it is fabulous. The best seafood menu ever, changes twice a day. Fresh, fresh!"
#13405 LauraM: "Three Forks in Dallas, TX. Probably the best meal I've ever eaten. Ever. The steaks melted like butter in our mouths, the green beans were perfect– the right balance of tenderness and crunch (when are green beans ever perfect?). The...
