Sweet-Roasted Rosemary Acorn Squash Wedges

TPW_2968I love this time of year.

I love acorn squash.

I also love it when I try to cram as many items into a recipe title as I possibly can. What I wind up with is always haphazard and random, and makes me feel like a dork.

Rosemary Roasted Sweet Acorn Squash?

Oh, never mind.

I posed an acorn squash recipe last year—it's rich, flavorful, and decadent. This approach ...

Cuisinart Winners

cuisinartsmallHere are the winners of the Cuisinart 11-cup Food Processors:

#363 Won: Can I just give a blanket answer of "carbs"? If I could successfully end my love affair with carbs, my wardrobe would increase exponentially.

#3857 Karen: Wow, this is so hard. I have a few weaknesses but I'll settle on Italian. I know, I know that's technically like a million things but to me it's all irresistible. Mmmm pasta. And you have NOT LIVED until you've eated Ricotta Gnudi with brown butter and sage (fried in...

Three.

cuisinartsmallToday, because it's Tuesday and raining, because it's October and getting colder, and because my dad was serving in Vietnam the day I was born, I'm giving away three (3) Cuisinart Prep Plus 11-cup Food Processors. It was the only thing left to do, given the circumstances.

Next to my mixer and my knives, I don't think there's anything more irreplaceable in my kitchen arsenal than my food processor. Whether it's chopping and mixing ingredients for hot artichoke dip or grinding toasted pecans...

Chicken Parmigiana

TPW_4583This is one of the go-to dishes I make for my family of six. Rich, flavorful, and totally satisfying, we all love it, including my big, strapping cowboy of a husband.

And that's a very, very good thing.

Break out the good Parmesan for this one, my friends. It's the right thing to do.

TPW_4443Begin with four to six boneless, skinless, trimmed chicken breasts. And please: do not be afraid of the raw chicken.

I'm actually beginning to believe fear of raw chicken is a diagnosable phobia. I've...

Chocolate Truffles with Sea Salt

TPW_3151These are delicious and very easy-to-make chocolate truffles with an unlikely surprise: a sprinkling of light, fluffly sea salt.

If you haven't yet experienced a yummy chocolate truffle with sea salt, then you haven't…experienced a yummy chocolate truffle with sea salt. It's a seemingly unlikely, but absolutely scrumptious and special, flavor combination that has to be experienced to be believed.

I believe. And I want you to believe, also.

TPW_3010I've got a golden ticket. Okay, people. Listen...

Spaghetti with Artichoke Hearts and Tomatoes

TPW_2847This is such an easy throw-together dinner, I'm almost embarrassed to share it with you. It's made almost entirely of pantry items and can be adapted according to whatever ingredients you have on hand. There's no meat in it, though. So have some grilled chicken or steak on hand if you reside with wolves.

This happens to be a tomato-cream based sauce, which has been my favorite pasta sauce on earth for the past 20 years. It's the best of both worlds: tangy but creamy; tomato-y but decadent. I ...

Le Creuset Wieners!

lecreusetsmallMy gosh—what a response! I had no idea you loved enameled cast iron as much as I.

There'll be another of these giveaways in the coming weeks (thank you, CHEFS), so if you aren't one of the two winners this time you can give it another shot! My hope for this nation is that everyone has enameled cast iron in his kitchen.

Well…and peace, happiness, and harmony. And all that jazz.

The two winners of the Le Creuset sets are:

#9730 Jessica H: "I had spiral pasta with a homemade tomato sauce. Not...

You Need These

lecreusetsmallI can't believe the holidays are upon us. I have that nice, warm, hungry, food-obsessed feeling in my belly. For that reason, I'm giving away two (2) sets of Le Creuset cookware in this gorgeous "Caribbean" shade.

I have other reasons, too. Would you like to hear them? Great. Here we go:

1. It's Tuesday

2. My next recipe has lots of photos and they have to finish uploading

3. My next recipe was made in Le Creuset

4. It's October

5. I'm a Capricorn

6. My laundry has reached disastrous...

Moist Pumpkin Spice Muffins (With Cream Cheese Frosting)

TPW_2361I don't know about you, but after both the pork chop recipe and the roasted new potato/garlic recipe, I need something sweet. Something sweet, not non-caloric, not non-fattening, and not non-non-non-not-non-not-nonfattening.

Did I get the right number of negatives in there?

These pumpkin muffins are yummy, and can be eaten plain for breakfast or iced with fattening, gloopy cream cheese frosting for dessert.

Versatility: I love that in a muffin!

Roasted Garlic & New Potatoes

TPW_2291This is a scrumptious and impossibly easy (oxymoron?) dish that takes five minutes to throw into the oven. The results are delicious, impressive, and special, and when you make it your house will be filled with the most incredible aroma. You have to experience it to know what I mean.

Because it's so easy, this a great side dish for anything from steaks, chicken, or pork. I'd even put it with a big green salad for a meatless dinner, but that's just the old vegetarian in me talking. Don't tell ...
