Hemovore is October's Book of the Month

The M/M Romance group at Goodreads has selected Hemovore as the co-book of the month for October, along with Ally Blue's Love, Like Ghosts which is coming out 10/13.

Members of the group have access to the discussion boards, which include two threads in which to discuss the book -- a spoiler-free thread and a spoilery thread. I'm part of the group, so I'll definitely be there to discuss it, and I'm sure I'll be loving every minute of it, because I LOVE talking about my books! I also just got a...

Look Again.

You might think this is a cute picture of my cat on my satellite box.

Or you might be a cat owner, and spot the trail of puke dripping down the side of the box. (Feel free to enlarge the shot for your viewing pleasure.) It goes all the way to the floor, hitting every electronic in its path. Except the satellite box. That's still clean.

I *thought* I heard someone throwing up in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago, and never found the vomit. There ya go. I don't know who it was. When ...

Elixir...the end is here

Sweet Oblivion 5 Elixir cover Sweet Oblivion 5: Elixir

by Jordan Castillo Price

available now at Changeling Press

Summary

Wild Bill and Michael might have thought they made it out of the subterranean vampire nest unscathed, but in her anger, Silk left Michael a taste of her wrath that's impossible to shake.

It's a race against time to cure Michael of a bizarre affliction, and though the hunter and his favorite vamp have few enough friends, Bill can't ash a cigarette without burning another bridge. Now Wild Bill must decide...

Packing Heat 073: Romance vs Porn

Listener Question
Merry was curious what qualified in Amazon's terms of service for the Kindle as too porny. I couldn't find anything in their legal section in regards to content -- but definitely be careful to know what you're...

Big... bigger... biggest (error in judgement)

So tonight I was teaching a class on Twitter at the local library, and my colleague was co-teaching. I set up a Twitter account specifically for the class with my most family-friendly email address, and followed a few boring people, like a cheese critic, a local news aggregator, and Bob Vila. My screen was projected on the wall several feet high and I'm going along showing the class where "followers" and "following" are, and my colleague says, "Oh, look, someone's following you. Who is it?"

In...

Good vibes - hooray

The other day I went to Target -- yes, probably no biggie for most people but because I live out in the country and I'm somewhat of a non-shopper it's a special trip for me. At the small, locally-owned grocery I normally get my groceries, I know the cashiers, at least by sight, and it's a smallish store I can blaze through in 20 minutes. But I felt like doing something different.

Anyway, the cashier, whom I did NOT know by sight, was really great. I was buying a lot of coffee (Target coffee is...

Seven Sanctum is Downright Creepy

I was poking around the random generators at Seventh Sanctum in hopes of casting my next project, since no one in particular showed up at the roll call inside my head, and I hit upon this random plot:

This is a mockumentary with a strong theme of how a utopia is possible. The story is about an energetic exorcist who is constantly opposing a media personality. It starts in an arena in a small town. The story climaxes with someone writing in a diary. The effect of technology on magic is a major ...

Phone Phobic buys a Phone

My editors and beta readers may cross their fingers in hopes that I will learn to use a phone -- because my characters always manage to do it WRONG in the initial drafts. Why? Because I hate-hate-hate phones and I do my best to never use 'em. And yet I see that everyone else loves their phone so much they must be talking on it while they drive, walk, eat, take out the garbage, etc., so my characters have and use phones.

The town I live in is a dead zone, although occasionally I do see someone ...

Packing Heat - Brain Exercise

Kindleless Kindle
I discovered the Kindle app for the iPhone/iPod Touch. Dang, no wonder sales of my Kindle ebooks have been getting better and better. It's only in the U.S. at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went international within the next couple of years.
