Whoo! Yay! B&N Bestseller!

Holy crap! We are rank 70 on all of Barnes & Noble fiction and non fiction books. This is a big-assed deal for me. I probably never would have even believed an m/m book would be in the top 100 at all.

And apparently the free shipping coupon works well :D

Art of Dying at 279 on B&N

What a super-awesome thing to wake up to this morning. Art of Dying sales rank in the low three-figures, wowee! (My boyfriend didn't believe me; I think "Nuh uh" was the direct quote. Thanks for the support, hon.)

An alert reader sent me a coupon code for free shipping at B&N, so if you've been thinking about buying, here's a good excuse! (Probably just domestic shipping...haven't tried it myself.) It's good until 5/26.

At long last! Partners in Crime 4!

I'm absolutely thrilled to point you toward my first project with Josh Lanyon, The Art of Dying (Partners in Crime 4). If you've read my recent interview on Jessewave's blog, you'll know I'm flat-out head-over-heels crazy about Anton, the love interest in my story. I also dug really deep to take a look at how we deal (or not) with one another's psychological hardships. But never fear, there are plenty of funny moments too!

I also did an article in my latest newsletter talking about how I thought

eee-noyed

The afternoon sun was blazing directly into my office, so I took my EEE pc into the bedroom to try and get a little world count in. Within minutes, it was hot as hell, and as usual, my cursor hopped all over the screen and typed at random if my hand so much as brushed the plastic anywhere remotely near the touchpad.

I fat-fingered some control keys and the type got all spread out and weird...unable to figure out how to fix that, finally decided restarting it would be faster than actually figuring

cold feet

Getting ready to be on a local panel for Internet marketing (and I know I will talk first --eep). After that obligation is water under the bridge, I get to come home and work on... I think Zero Hour today.

I'd love any and all cheerleading I can get on Zero Hour. The Twitter comment of one reader already got my mind pointed in that direction. That, and my other stuff is stalled because I've written big chunks on it, and it now needs to cook down a little more so I can move on to "what happens nex

Interesting distinctions

I'm looking at my Netflix recommendations and I see they have the stuff they think I would like categorized in a way I never really considered. Obviously, horror pops up first for me. (I know, you thought it was romantic comedies where the dumb blonde chick saves the day and there's a schmoopy wedding at the end. Oh, and a baby.)

Not just horror, though. Exciting Horror. As opposed to psychological or atmospheric, I guess. Scroll down a little, what else is there based on what I've watched recent

Ze Newsletter, She is Out

Despite my recent dental travails (which really knocked me on my ass...I was loopy all day yesterday) my May newsletter is out. This month -- baby bunnehs, vampires, and Partners In Crime: The Art of Dying.

Like, whoa

I've always thought my dentist was an interesting guy. My prior dentist did good work, but he always spoke in a very hushed voice and made everything sound like it was of earthshattering importance, which I didn't like. When my insurance grew more limited and dropped him, it was a good excuse to switch. There are four dentists in my tiny little town, so I picked one of the others. I'd been to a game show taping with him (long story, much of the town went on a charter plane to NYC and we all won

The Dreaded First Line

Your first chapter, first paragraph, first line all need to be catchy, don't they? Otherwise, it'll be a lot more difficult to sell your story. So where do you get really good opening lines?

Unless one pops into your head right away, chances are you need to write the rest of the story before you can come up with an intro with good resonance. Here's what I do when I need to create a first line:

- Finish my story
then
- Decide what the theme of the story turned out to be
- Figure out if there's a way s
