Finger on the Pulse
Halloween is a little over a week away, and it's got me thinking shivery, delicious thoughts about my favorite body part.
No, you dirty birdies. Not that.
Necks! I'm crazy about that span of flesh between the shoulders and the chin. So much so that I wrote a little (or a lot of) something about it at ReviewsbyJessewave. Stop by! Read! Comment!

Mystery Man

Though if I found out I'd probably try to bribe some more photos out of him looking scowly and surly, that's for sure!

Gratuitous cat pic

Frankie looks igloo-shaped! When we got him, the humane society told us they thought he was 1 or 2 years old, and he'd been a stray (although a neutered stray, so what's the deal, he escaped? But he never tries to get out.)
Anyway, I would guess he's put on a good few pounds since we got him in June and he's ginormous now. And igloo-shaped.
He's laying on something we call the "squishy," a tempur-foam mattress pad I bought, decided it made the bed too hot, and sewed a cover for so we could thro...

Weaving Plots
I'm coming back to PsyCop 6 after not having looked at it for several weeks. I've been finishing up Sympathy, my Halloween story, and the Sweet Oblivion series, and dealing with the plagiarism thing. So I was eager to get back to PsyCop and see what was going on.
I thought there were multiple themes to weave together, but the more I journaled about it, the more most of the themes seemed to be a subset of the "A" plot. I see now that my "B" plot isn't developed enough. I think once I feel just ...

October Newsletter is out
The October issue of JCP News is out! Kindle news. What I've been up to lately. And a true PsyCop fusion: PsyCop's Carolyn Brinkman interviews Michael from Channeling Morpheus (and calls out every one of his lies.)

Does he need his own?

I'm trying to finish proofing Hemovore for the print edition and I'm doing it on my EEE, and "someone" (aka Frankie) has decided he really really likes that computer. So I can't get on it now without him insinuating himself in there and hoarding it. So I started reading a book, figuring he'd then turn his attention to the book for a while, but no. There he is clinging to the EEE as if there's cat porn or sports on it.
Not only that, but he's been typing. He's pulled up the dictionary (which I ...

A PsyCop by any other name is NOT as sweet....
The short version:
gwendolynflight
, a writer in the Merlin fandom, took Among the Living (PsyCop 1), stripped out the names and locations, re-cast the novel in her fandom leaving a majority of my prose intact, then posted it online. Then defended her right to plagiarism with statements like, "Plagiarism is a social construct, which has little meaning outside of specific contexts." Seeing the title Among the Living and the term PsyCop with another author's name beneath it felt like a suckerp...

LJ Community Recommendations?
Does anyone know of fiction/poetry communities on LJ that aren't geared toward fandom -- and that are appropriate for a teenager? I'm thinking troll-free supportive community.
