August Book Deals

It looks like August is shaping up to be a very "Megan Chance" month. There are several very cool deals for my books that Amazon is offering in August. Here they are:The Fianna Trilogyis included in aSeries Bundle Dealfrom August 1 thru August 31, where the entire trilogy is offered at a special price if you buy all three-and why wouldn't you want to?Next up,The Visitantis part ofAmazon's Summer Reading Deal, again for the entire month, and at a special price of $1.99.And finally,Bone Riveris included in Amazon's UK MarketplaceKindle Monthly deals, at 0.99 GBP, also from today thru the 31st.I'm pretty sure there's something for everyone here. Now I'm off to the beach, for a much needed vacation (though I will be reading the page proofs ofA Drop on Ink, not really onerous duty, when you're doing it sitting on a sandy, sunny beach with the ocean roaring in the background).

Day Off

The copyedit forA Drop of Inkis finally done and turned in (YAY!!), and before I had time to return to researching the next book, I was pleasantly distracted by a visit from a long-lost friend. Kristin Hannah and I first met Olga Bicos when we shared an agent, something like a million years ago. Our agent referred to us as her "blonde, brunette and redhead," and we spent a lot of time together at conferences and various writing-related events. But then, as people do, we fell out of touch. Thus, a much-needed day off, and a lot of fun drinking and talking with old friends. Here I am with Kristin, awaiting Olga's imminent arrival:And here we are, the "blonde, brunette and redhead," together again. Now that the fun is over, it's back to researching for me!

Houston, We Have a Title

Some of you may know already that I hate coming up with titles for a book. I would rather write a synopsis (which is saying something, because I would rather write an entire novel than write a synopsis). But titles belong to a special place in hell, because they're so IMPORTANT. People notice a title. They buy a book because of one. And Marketing is never happy to be told: "Oh yes, I've titled it The Lake Geneva Book," so there's a lot of pressure to come up with a good one--or at least one that

Independent Bookstore Day

Today, I'm taking a much-needed break from editing to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day at Liberty Bay Books in Poulsbo, WA. Apparently, there is to be a blind wine-tasting as well--oh, the owner knows me well! I'll be there at 4:30, so if you're in the area, stop by to say hello! For more information: Liberty Bay Books
