Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Seattle7Writers and the Bainbridge Schools Foundation last Saturday at our amazing Summer Bookfest. Lots of books were sold, many cookies eaten, and a good time (I hope) was had by all (at least I had a good time!). Here are some pictures from the event:All the authors who participated: Suzanne Selfors, Me and Boyd Morrison. Tickets are also still available for another Seattle7Writers event--Chew on This, a brunch featuring Charles Johnson in conversation with Garth Stein, writers at every table, mimosas, and delicious food. The event is June 24th, at the Mt Baker Community Club in Seattle, and proceeds go to help Seattle7Writers Youth Literacy Programming. It's all for a great cause, so if you're interested, or know someone who would love to spend the day with Seattle writers, check it out!

This is where I'll be Saturday, June 3rd, with SIXTEEN other authors, signing books for and chatting with anyone who stops by. I expect to have cookies, though I haven't decided yet which kind: chocolate? Molasses? Decisions, decisions. If you're in the area, I hope you'll stop by. A portion of the proceeds go to benefit the Bainbridge Schools foundation--a good time for a good cause!

Special Deal for A Drop of Ink

My latest release,A Drop of Ink, has been included inAmazon's Monthly Kindle Dealsfor the month of April, where it is available for a special price of $1.99 USD. I happen to LOVE this book, and I'm anxious for everyone to read it. Set in 1874, this is a tale of five people searching for inspiration in the Villa Diodati on Lake Geneva--the house whereFrankensteinwas conceived. What they discover will change them all, during a summer they will never forget. I hope you like it as much as I do!

Fianna Deal

Today only, my young adult Fianna Trilogy is a specialKindle Daily Deal. The Shadows, The Web, andThe Veilare only $1.99 each. It's the day after St. Patrick's, but that shouldn't stop you from immersing yourself in a story steeped in Irish mythology, where ancient Irish warriors wake up among the Irish immigrants in 19th C. New York City, and 17-year old Grace Knox realizes that her destiny is tied with theirs.I had so much fun writing this trilogy, and I still miss my lovely Irish warriors--and Grace too, of course ... okay, truthfully, the one I really miss is Diarmid O'Duibhne. :)Settle down with your leftover corned beef and Guinness and see why! You won't find a better price.

St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you who are Irish, or pretending to be Irish, or who just want to have a Guinness and corned beef without guilt and be done with it. How much of me is actually Irish remains to be determined (one day I'm going to do a DNA test and find out), though I know I do have an Irish immigrant great-grandmother, but honestly, for me, St. Patrick's Day is all about one of my favorite meals. I wait all year for corned beef, because I am the only one in my family who likes it, and so I can't justify serving it more often. But next week I will be the only one home, and so I am making a HUGE portion of corned beef, and I am going to eat it ALL WEEK LONG.I may be sick of it by then. :)I also traditionally make a chocolate stout cake, which is a chocolate dessert that even I can get behind (I will almost always choose a dessert that is NOT chocolate). This morning's effort was a spectacular fail, I'm afraid (I will never make this cake in a bundt pan again), but it's easier to excuse eating the entire thing when it's in pieces ("What do you mean? I just had a bite!")In any case, I intend to fully enjoy the day. I hope you do too!
