Launch of Malema's EFF Party
EFF is a new political party launched by ex ANCYL leader Julius Malema. Hundreds of EFF members gathered on top of a hill at Nkaneng informal settlement in Marikana, the site of last year’s massacre, just outside Rustenburg on Sunday for the official launch of the EFF. In a predictable text, Malema told thousands of supporters in Marikana that if wealth is shared, crime will come down. He appealed to the black middle class to stop being coconuts and come out to fight like warriors.

Keep on Milking the Nkandla Cash Cow
"Nkandla-gate" is a project, in which Zuma has spent US $28 million of public funds on renovations to his private country estate in rural KwaZulu-Natal province. These “security upgrades” have included underground bunkers, soccer fields for his bodyguards and a tuck shop for one of his four wives to run. The DA has gone to court to seek a copy of a report into Zuma’s spending that was compiled by the public works department but classified as 'top secret." Former ANC treasurer-general Mathews Phosa said that the truth about Nkandla must come out. He believed there had been a cover-up over security upgrades at President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla homestead in KwaZulu-Natal. Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi had refused to make public a government investigation report into why his department spent over R200-million on Zuma's residence. The report had been kept under wraps since it was finalised nine months ago. The Western Cape High Court recently ruled that the DA's Nkandla application to make the report public was urgent. The matter would now be heard in February 2014 ahead of the general elections.

African Tyrants Against the ICC
Leaders from the African Union (AU) are meeting in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa to debate Africa’s relationship with the ICC. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto, have been charged by the ICC in The Hague with crimes against humanity for their role in allegedly fuelling ethnic violence following a disputed election in December 2007. Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan was the first sitting head of state indicted by the ICC. The court's decision is opposed by the African Union, League of Arab States, Non-Aligned States etc.

JZ: "God and Governmenet Are Connected"
At the 33rd Presbyterian Synod in Giyani, Limpopo, on Sunday God was invoked onto the side of the ANC. President Jacob Zuma as the leader of the ANC, says those who insult leaders in positions of authority would be cursed. “Whether we like it or not, God has made a connection between the government and the church. That’s why He says you, as a church, should pray for it,” Zuma, who spoke in Zulu throughout, is quoted as saying."Because if you allow them to insult those in authority, you are creating a society that is angry with itself."

Jafta and Nkabinde Refuse To Testify
In 2008, Judge Hlophe approached justices Jafta and Nkabinde and discussed with them the Zuma/Thint matter in which judgment was pending. The Concourt signed a complaint against Judge Hlophe, and justices Jafta and Nkabinde were happy to be signatories to that complaint. Five years later, the tribunal is trying to determine whether an innocent collegial conversation took place – and so dismiss the desire by some to see Judge Hlophe sanctioned for judicial misconduct – or whether Judge Hlophe had improperly tried to influence the outcome of a Concourt case – and so recommend sanction. Bess Nkabinde and Chris Jafta have made a U-turn and are calling the judicial tribunal into allegations of misconduct against Judge John Hlophe an "illegitimate structure".
