Zuma's State of the Nation address 2014
Jacob Zuma gave his 5th State of the Nations Address (SONA) and Julius Malema responded with a non-conventional maiden speech in parliament. Malema charged that there was nothing radical about Zuma’s speech, especially when it came to economic transformation. “You and your party should stop playing semantics, especially when it relates to radical economic agenda, because you lack courage and you have sold out the revolution. EFF's "breaking of the parliamentary "speech" rules" makes the other parties look like stuff shirts. In response ANC's Lindiwe Sisulu responded “Honourable Malema, welcome to this House, where manners are a very important part of our conduct and where your tongue is governed by the rules of Parliament. It will be a tough place for you.”

Request to Replace Number One by Number Two?
Zuma's first term in office was abmismal. It certainly did not go according to plan and now it looks like an old bombsite littered with debris and deep craters. At the opening of Parliament, there was a lot of interest in how Zuma would look - after returning from sick leave - almost more than what he had actually said. Is there any significance in Cyril Ramphosa being asked to substiture President Jacob Zuma in his official functions.

Mogoeng Attempts to Clarify Religion Statements
Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng said that he would never allow his faith to override his oath to uphold the Constitution, even if these two value systems clashed in court. In fact, Mogoeng believes the Constitution does not need to be changed “from the look of things” and replaced with a version infused with Christian morality. However, the chief justice believes that religion could hold some answers to the key dilemmas facing society, and organised religion could do more to ensure these options were known to society.

Zuma's NPA Appointment Crisis
Since Vuzi Pikoli was fired in 2009 for so called incompetence, the position of Diretor of National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has always been a problem for President Jacob Zuma. Zuma appointed his "YES" man Menzi Simelane to replace Pikoli. Menzi Simelane's appointment was then found invalid by the Constitutional Court of South Africa, in October 2012. Simalene was then replaced by Mxolisi Nxasana in August 2013. Now controversy rocks the NPA once again as Mxolisi Nxasana has been refused security clearance for not disclosing that he had once killed a man. Nxasana has come under pressure following revelations that he allegedly did not disclose that: As an 18-year-old was tried and acquitted of murder; had been arrested for inconsiderate driving and resisting arrest; that he was fined by a law society; and tried to prevent an NPA unit from investigating him.

Nigeria Presidential Inaugaration - May 2007
In the presidential election, held on 21 April 2007, Yar'Adua won with 70% of the vote (24.6 million votes) according to official results released on 23 April. The election was highly controversial. Strongly criticized by observers, as well as the two primary opposition candidates, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Action Congress (AC), its results were largely rejected as having been rigged in Yar'Adua's favor.
