Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior
What do you appreciate?
Beauty is everywhere, even among the thorns. Entrenched in a garden "made [with] all kinds of trees [that grew] out of the ground-trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food" (Genesis 2:9), was Adam and Eve, until they went against God's wishes. For doing so, they were banned from the Garden of Eden and forced to tend to their own garden in which the ground was "cursed" (3:17) and filled with "thorns and thistles" (3:18), thereby causing "painful toil" (3:17). So, when you see the colorful trees, blooming flowers or flowing waters, might you remember to appreciate the beauty that has been created for you to enjoy and take care of. #AlwaysAppreciative & #TakeNothingForGranted

How do you tackle your lists?
Too much to do and too little time to do it in. Sound familiar? The lists will always be there; and you can get it done without stressing yourself out. Helping you to do so is an invitation from God. It is when you "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness [that] all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). So, when making your lists, might you consider adding Him first, 1. ...Prayer, every time, and do so without worry (see 6:25-32). #GettingItAllDone

How can you make a difference in the lives of others?
Each person has been given a gift, life, and, with life, a purpose. Tabitha's place and purpose was being a seamstress, which allowed her to make clothes for widows in her community (see Acts 9:36, 39). Unfortunately, she became ill and died. Recognized for "always doing good and helping the poor" (Acts 9:36), God brought her back to life. So, whatever your purpose, might you consider using it for "doing good" and help make an impact in the lives of others, just like Tabitha did. #ShareYourGodGivenGifts

How hopeful are you?
There is always hope, no matter how bleak things may seem; and to be hopeful is to have faith, "confidence in what [you] hope for and assurance of what [you] do not see" (Hebrews 11:1). This "anchor for the soul" (6:19), hope, offers believers "the promise of entering his rest" (4:1). So, if you are in need of a "firm and secure" (6:19) anchor, might you consider grabbing hold to His and never letting go. #FindYourHope & #AnchorDown

How foolish or wise are you to expect something?
There is more than meets the eye, when it comes to having expectations of people, as not all variables are taken in to consideration. Such was the life of the Jesus. Unexpectedly, He came in to this world, quietly, and raised humbly, just as God intended. For "God chose the foolish things of this world to shame the wise; [and] weak things of the world to shame the strong" (1 Corinthians 1:27). So, instead of expecting the expected to happen, might you consider taking and using "wisdom from God...righteousness, holiness and redemption" (1:30), because one day you may be expected to use it. #BewareOfExpectations

What can't you buy?
Not all gifts can be bought; and peace being one of them. Just before Jesus departed, he gave and left his disciples a gift that would help see them through their struggles and troubles, peace (see John 14:27). If you, seek such a gift, might you consider allowing Him to "teach you all the things" (John 14:26), just like he did for his disciples, and receive peace, along with the many more gifts that only he can give you. #PricelessPeace

What are your relationships built on?
Trust is what establishes and maintains relationships. But, once trust is broken, it is harder than ever, if possible, to get back. One such relationship that promises a forever trust is one with the Lord. For when you trust in Him, "you will keep in perfect peace" (Isaiah 26:3), as he "is the Rock eternal" (26:4). Not one time will He ever fail you, as he will always be there, steadfast and true. Might you "trust in the LORD forever" (26:4). #HeNeverDisappoints❤️

Who knows your kindness?
To know someone is to care for them. Because of having a close relationship with Jonathan, King David showed kindness (see 2 Samual 9:7) to Jonathan's son who was "lame in both feet" (9:3), due to a fall (see 4:4). He assured Jonathan's son that he would restore to him all of the land that belonged to his grandfather Saul and that he would always eat at his table (see 9:7). May you, too, like King David, share your love and kindness to others. For when you give you also receive. #TakeTheTime & #GetToKnowOthers

What scars need healing?
Not all scars are visible; and when left unattended, they can fester and worsen, causing even more pain and suffering. Struggling and suffering "in agony" (Psalm 6:2) and "deep anguish" (6:3), for some time, was David. After wearing himself out from "groaning" (6:6), David, finally, asked the Lord to "have mercy", "be gracious" and "heal" (6:2) him. In doing so, He "heard [his] cry for mercy" (6:9) and answered him in His time (see 6:10). So, if you are worn out from trying to mask your pain and suffering, might you consider reaching out to The One who can help you heal. #HealTheHurt❤️

When it comes to clothing, many get caught up with the latest fashions only to get rid of them as quick as they trended in, as opposed to wearing clothing that is made "with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience" (Colossians 3:12). Such fashion is not well known or popular, as it is not fast and easy, but one that is gradual and well constructed. Few will wear it; and those who do will stand out. So, if you are looking for something that will never go out of style, might you consider giving this clothing a try. #AlwaysFashionable & #InStyle❤️
