Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior
What direction are you being led towards?
One's path and direction can change in an instant. Such paths changed for four fishermen. For Peter and Andrew, "at once"..."left their nets" (Matthew 4:20), as did James and John, "immediately" (4:22), "and followed him" (4:20) to fish for people. So, whatever direction you are being led towards, may it be one that is worthwhile, fulfilling and bountiful. #SeizeIt #Go & #MakeYourMark

Why be kind?
Kindness is a reflection of being genuinely selfless, caring and compassionate. Showing such kindness was both Boaz and the Lord. Boaz was kind to Ruth, after hearing what she had done for her mother-in-law, since the death of her husband (see Ruth 2:20), and eventually married her. As for the Lord, his kindness has never ceased, as he continues to show his kindness to both the living and the dead (see 2:20). So, might you, too, not by pressure, but by authentic intentions, consider showing kindness towards another any chance that you may get. #SpreadTheLove & #TouchLives

How much effort do you put in to trying to be "somebody"?
In order to be "somebody", many will do whatever it takes. Paul did too when he "put confidence in the flesh" (Philippians 3:4), until Christ showed him how meaningless his attempts were to impress. When enlightened by Christ's sacrifice, Paul "[considered] everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus" (3:8); and from then on, aspired "to know Christ" (3:10). So, instead of putting a great deal of effort and energy in trying to be "somebody", might you seek Someone who is Somebody and let Him show you that you are "somebody" without having to lose yourself trying to do so (see 3:9). #RetainYourSelfWorth & #Integrity & #RemainHumble & #UnderTheRadar

How much foresight do you have?
There are moments when life has a tendency to keep punching you in the gut. Jacob felt the same way, as he faced hardship with his three sons: one he feared was "torn to pieces" (Genesis 37:33), another held captive and the other taken away. Overwhelmed with his circumstance, he wailed "Everything is against me!" (42:36). Despite the hardships you face, God is working in and for you, as He sees what you don't. So, instead of thinking the world is against you, might you consider placing your trust in Him, because "If God is for [you], who can be against [you]?" (Romans 8:3). #WorkingBehindTheScenes & #HandlingAllHardships

How kind are you?
It takes very little to be kind to another; and such an act, even as little as a smile or hello, can also make an impact. Showing great acts of kindness was a Babylonian king and the Lord. The Babylonian king offered kindness to an exiled Judaean king, Jehoiachin. "[The king] freed him from prison. [And] He spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat of honor higher than those of the other kings who were with him in Babylon" (Jeremiah 52:31-32). And, like Jehoiachin, the entire world has received "kindness"..."of God our Savior" as "he saved us" from our sins (Titus 3:4-5). Neither had too, but wanted to. So, having benefited from such an "extreme" act of kindness, might you too consider paying it forward when given the chance, as kindness goes a long way. #KindnessMatters

What impression do you want to make and leave?
How you behave can make and leave a lasting impression, both good and bad. So, if you want to leave a good one, you might "show that you are a letter from Christ...written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts" (2 Corinthians 3:3). For when you do, your behavior with resonate and take you far. If not, your behavior will still resonate but get you nowhere. May you be that person who wants to be well thought of and remembered. #MakeALastingImpression

How can you get to know others?
Relationships are not built over night, as it takes time and attention to get to know someone. One relationship, in particular, is with the Lord. If you take the time, each day, to look, listen and read, The Word, you will notice His presence and begin to develop a deep and meaningful relationship with him. So, if you are interested in getting to know others, Him included, and want to develop healthy and lasting relationships might you do so "in the Spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). For if you do, your life will be filled with great friends. #InvestingInOthers #WorthYourTimeAndAttention

How do you deal with trouble?
Like it or not, "in this world you will have trouble" (John 16:33); and whatever trouble may arise, He promises to make all wrongs right. In sharing this with you, and also His disciples, He "[tells] you these things, so that in [him] you may have peace" (16:33). So, when trouble happens, might you remember that He always has your back. #RightsEveryWrong

What keeps you enroute?
Along the way, the unknown and unfamiliar await, and can make you uncomfortable, even uncertain. Feeling unsure was Abraham, as he and the Israelites were setting foot in to unfamiliar territory. Fortunately, they had Someone who knew the territory and could lead and take care of them on the way. So, might you, too, choose to seek that Someone, when uncertain, as He "will watch over [your] way" (Psalm 142:3). #GoAnywhereWithCertainy & #Confidence

What path are you on?
There are all sorts of paths to take, and some are better than others. Choosing a more difficult path was the Israelites, as they chose to be disobedient. For doing so, they were judged. If your path is taking you in a direction that is going to run you off the road or in to a dead end, might you consider choosing a path that is more dependable. For when you do, He will "make the way of the righteous smooth" (see Isaiah 26:7), because He will be traveling right beside you helping to pave the way. #AWellLitPath
