Daily Meditations of A Nurse Warrior
What do you pray for? When do you pray? Why do you pray? Where do you pray? & How often do you pray?
Anyone can pray, at any time, place or for any reason; but it is how you pray that allows them to be answered. Scripture asks you to be continually steadfast "in prayer" and "being watchful in it with thanksgiving" (Colossians 4:2); and when you do, "God may open to [you] a door for the word" (4:3), just like He did for Paul. So, if you truly want your prayers answered, might you take His advice and see what it will do for and through you. #DevoteYourself & #SeeItWork

What creates unity?
The best chance to make improvements and change lives and communities is when there is a willingness to set aside differences, egos and agendas, and collaborate with one another. So, might you, too, consider doing so, when given the chance, and see “how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1), as “harmony is as refreshing as the dew” (133:3 nlt). #WorkingTogetherAsOne

Where do you begin?
Most ideas without a solid foundation fail before they ever start. Wanting to rebuild Jerusalem, after exiled, were the Jews; and, a year, before the rebuild, "they built [an] altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both...morning and evening" (Ezra 3:3). Then came "free will offerings" (1:4), "neighbors [assisting]" (1:6) and "expenses paid out of the royal treasury" (6:8) for the rebuild. So, if you are trying to get your idea off the ground, might you seek, first, the one who can help you take and make it a reality. #GodFirst #TheFoundationOfEverything

What are you hiding?
You can't avoid or run from sin, as God sees all, and "will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:14). So, instead of trying to conceal or flee from your sins, might you consider confessing them and “fear God and keep his commandments” (12:13). #AcceptResponsibility & #ComeClean

What do you do with your abundance?
Some hoard it; and some share it. Generously sharing his with a "blasphemer", "persecutor" and a "violent man" (1 Timothy 1:13), "the worst of sinners" (1:16), was God. Due to Paul's "ignorance and unbelief" (1:13), God "poured out on [Paul] abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus" (1:14). In return, Paul gave God "honor and glory forever and ever" (1:17). So, whatever your abundance, might you consider being generous with it, along with giving thanks to The One who has and continues to bless you each and every day. #BlessedWithAbundance #ThanksBeToGod

How reliable is the "eye test"?
Parchment, stature and pecking order are not the only determining factors to make sound decisions or predictions. Proven wrong was Samuel, as he predicted Eliab, Jesse's first born, to be the next king of Israel (see 1 Samuel 16:1). Instead, David, the youngest, was (see 16:11). For the Lord told Samuel to “not consider his appearance or his height" but "the heart" (16:7). So, whether you are helping to make a decision or being decided upon, might you remember that the inside, the heart, is just as important, if not more so, than the "outward appearance" that is relied on so heavily by many(16:7). #TheresMoreThanMeetsTheEye #TakeALookInsideToo

What approval do you seek?
Many look for approval, to be accepted and/or included, yet struggle to get it. Struggling to get in to the temple, but denied, because of being a gentile and eunuch, was an Ethiopian man (see Ephesians 2:11-12; Deuteronomy 23:1). It was not until he read "the good news about Jesus" (Acts 8:35) and "[held] fast [to his] covenant" (Isaiah 56:4) that he was accepted and included. For holding on to His word, the man received "an everlasting name that [would] not be cut off" (56:4-5). So, if you seek approval, might you consider reaching out to The One who wants to give it to you. #Approved #Accepted & #Included

In what capacity do you serve?
To act without asking on the behalf of another or seeing a need and filling it is true service. Those that served the King did so when he "was hungry", [they] gave [him] something to eat"; was "thirsty", [they] gave [him] something to drink"; was "a stranger", [they] invited [him] in"; "needed clothes", [they] clothed [him]"; "was sick", [they] looked after [him]"; and "was in prison", [they] came to visit [him]" (Matthew 25:35-36). So, "whatever [it is that] you [do]...you [do] for [him]" (25:40) and, also, open yourself up to "eternal life" (25:46 NIV), just like the righteous who served the King. #ServeOften & #ServeWell

Why keep doing good?
As difficult as it can be to believe, your good deeds and hard work are never done in vain. Almost "put to death" (Jeremiah 38:4) for doing the right thing, and for many, was Jeremiah (see 38:3). Fortunately, due to another recognizing the mistake, Jeremiah was raised “out of the cistern” (38:10). So, no matter what you do, may you always do what is good and right, for "God is not unjust; [and] he will not forget your work" (Hebrews 6:10). #NeverStop #HeWillSustainYou

How well armed are you?
Personal wars are fought every day; and in order to fight and overcome them "are not [with] weapons of the world" (2 Corinthians 10:4), but with “weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense” (6:7 nlt), along with "truth buckled around your waist" (6:14), "the gospel of peace" (6:15), a "shield of faith" (6:16), a "helmet of salvation" and a "sword of the Spirit" (6:17); and when you arm yourself with these weapons, you can defend yourself against anything. Might you consider getting yourself some. #DailyProtection #TheArmorOfGod
