What does being in the desert teach you?

Being in the desert teaches you how to grow. Moses, along with many other patriarchs, experienced being in the desert. For Moses, it was God preparing him to "lead the people out of Egypt" (Exodus 3:12 ESV); and for "forty years" (Deuteronomy 2:7) God stood right beside him. So, whenever you are in the desert, might you consider seeking Him so that he, too, can "[watch] over your journey through this vast wilderness" (2:7) and lead you to where you need or want to go. #Strength #Character #Perseverance #Clarity #Direction ....

What kind of teammate are you?

Working in teams can prove challenging, even disastrous, as there are many personalities, with both egos and attitudes, to contend with. But, if you truly want to be able to compete and have a successful team, Paul reminds you are "co-workers" (1 Corinthians 3:9) not competitors. For "neither one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow" (3:7) can. So, might you remember to leave any ego and attitude at the door and do what is best for your team. #ATeamPlayer

What are you preparing yourself to do?

There is much growth and learning that comes with the bumpy and difficult. But, if you are willing stay the course and do the work, there is much to attain, as "[you] are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for [you] to do" (Ephesians 2:10). So, when the road gets rocky and rough, might you let Him lead " you out of the darkness [and] into his wonderful light", as you are one of his "people" ( 1 Peter 2:9-10). #WalkWithHim #YourPath #GoodThingsDontComeEasy

What empty promises do you make?

When you have a hard time ridding yourself of "detestable idols" (Jeremiah 4:1), it is difficult to keep any promise. So, when you make a promise, might you, first, if need be, "break up your unplowed ground and do not sow among thorns" (Jeremiah 4:3); and, then, "in a truthful, just, and righteous way" (4:1) "[speak] what [your] heart is full of" (Matthew 12:34). #MakeHeartfulPromises

How full is your plate?

Some days we have way too much on our plates. David’s plate, too, was spilling over and instead of trying to handle it on his own he gave it to God; and when he did, God answered and took the load from him (see Psalm 55:11, 16-17, 22). So, when you cannot handle what is on your plate, might you consider “[casting] your cares on the LORD and [allow him to] sustain you” (55:22). #EmptyYourPlate & #FindBalance

How well do you know yourself?

No one knows you better than God himself; and with His help, you can too. Taking God's help was Paul. In doing so, Paul lived his life honoring God. So, if you want to know everything about yourself, might you consider getting to know Him so that He can show you what you do not know. Then, one day, "with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 15:6), just like Paul did. #GetToKnowHim & #KnowYourselfBetter

How impactful are you?

Some people leave a lasting impression on others; and doing so was Gaius, as he always walked in "the truth" (3 John 1:3) and was kind to strangers (see 1:5). And, in return for his goodness, he was mentioned by others telling "the church about [his] love" (1:6). So, in whatever you do, might you, too, be regarded by others that "[testify] about your faithfulness to the truth" (1:3). #MakeThemGood & #Memorable

What do you do, when in the dark?

It is hard to see and navigate in the darkness. Yet, the darkness is where you find clarity and direction in whatever battle you are facing. Often battling the darkness was David. As "waves of death swirled about [him]" and "torrents of destruction overwhelmed [him]" (2 Samuel 22:5), "[he] called to the Lord" (22:7). And, as soon as David called for help, the Lord, "from his temple...heard [his] voice" (22:7) and answered him. So, when the darkness comes, might you consider reaching out to The One who can turn your "darkness in to light" (22:29). #SeekHisHelp & #SeeTheLight

How often do you rejoice and offer praise?

Every day, there is much to be joyful and grateful for; and one way of showing your happiness and gratitude is saying or singing "Amen, Hallelujah!" (Revelation 19:4). So, might you consider voicing His praises, and often, for the endless goodness that he bestows upon you. #Hallelujah #PraiseTheLord

How selfish or selfless are you?

Few go out of their way to help or support others; and if you are one of the many, you are encouraged to "do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourself" (Philippians 2:3) and "look to [their] interests" (2:4). So, might you consider trying to "be of one mind" (2:2), instead of only looking out for yourself, because one day you may need a helping hand. #ConsideringOthersToo
