Daily Meditations of A Nurse Warrior

How do you deal with your problems, questions and concerns?

Issues and challenges are uncomfortable and force you to seek and search for answers. Jairus was dealing with a dying daughter (see Mark 5:23); and because of his faith, he sought help from Jesus. In doing so, Jesus helped Jairus's daughter, along with many faithful others (see 5:34). So, whatever the issue, might you, too, consider seeking and leaning on Him for help (see 5:30) and see what He will do for you. #BuildYourFaith & #ResolveThem

What are your expectations?

Just as the world expects so does He, “the Son of Man” (Matthew 24:44). For He “will come at an hour when you do not expect him” (24:44). So, if you expect to go, might you “keep watch” (24:42) and be ready to go when He comes. #WaitingWithExpectation❤️

How remarkable are you?

Utterly genius, yet overwhelmingly incomprehensible, is the human body, as each living being has been "knit ...together in [a] mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13). So, instead of trying to "understand the work of God, the Maker of all things", might you instead "praise [him]" knowing that you are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (139:14). #Appreciate & #GiveThanks

What matters after you are gone?

Positions and power do not determine fate or favor, but service does. Many worry about their legacy, like Shebna, who wanted to be remembered after he was gone. Questioning Shebna's motives was Isaiah as he asked him: "Who gave you permission to cut out a grave for yourself here, hewing your grave on the height and chiseling your resting place in the rock?” (Isaiah 22:16); and then reminded him that "[God would] roll [him] up tightly like a ball and throw [him] into a large country. [And] there [he would] die” (22:18). So, instead of being consumed by a stone, might you choose to live to serve Him; and then, on one day, be "blessed", and go on and "die in the Lord" (Revelation 14:13). #ServeHimWell

How well do you utilize your time?

Time is precious and very limited; and what you do with it matters. For Timothy, it was to "preach the word" (2 Timothy 4:2) to as many people as he could, regardless of who turned away from the truth (see 4:4). So, whatever it is that drives, inspires, or motivates you to become or do, might you "keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, [and] do the work" (4:5). #DontWasteAMoment

How generous is your heart?

To give is to give by "what you have decided in your heart to give" (2 Corinthians 9:7) and not "under compulsion" (9:7). For when you do, your generosity "will result in thanksgiving to God" (9:11). So, may your heart always be full of cheer and generosity whenever you decide to give. #AHeartfulGiver

What tempts you?

Whatever entices or lures you, you are encouraged to “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your [heart] to the LORD” (Joshua 24:23). Doing just that was Jacob for his family (see Genesis 35:2-4). So, instead of giving in, might you consider burying it. #Resist & #RemoveIt❤️

What brings you joy?

There is no greater feeling than finding pleasure and happiness in what you do. For Paul, it was "[serving] the Lord with great humility and with tears and [even] in the midst of severe testing by the plots of many Jewish opponents" (Acts 20:19). So, when you find your joy, might you remember that "it is more blessed to give than to receive" (20:35); and if you "give, it will be given to you" (Luke 6:38). #Limitless #LifeDefining & #Transformative

What are you thankful for?

It may be everything or nothing, as each person views things differently. For Christ, it was being able to feed five thousand people with "five barley loaves, and two small fishes" (John 6:9); and, also, when he sat down and ate with a few disciples, after His resurrection, and "took bread, gave thanks, [and] broke it" (Luke 24:30). So, might you consider being thankful for your daily provisions, for you never know when you might go without. #TakeNothingForGranted

Where do you go to seek affirmation?

If you are seeking to be known, loved or liked by social media, you are looking in the wrong place. Your affirmation already came "before [He] formed you in the womb [as He] knew you, [and] before you were born [he] set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5). So, instead of seeking constant affirmation through likes and views, might you rest assure that the only affirmation that you need to seek is His. #AffirmedByHim
