What matters after you are gone?
Positions and power do not determine fate or favor, but service does. Many worry about their legacy, like Shebna, who wanted to be remembered after he was gone. Questioning Shebna's motives was Isaiah as he asked him: "Who gave you permission to cut out a grave for yourself here, hewing your grave on the height and chiseling your resting place in the rock?” (Isaiah 22:16); and then reminded him that "[God would] roll [him] up tightly like a ball and throw [him] into a large country. [And] there [he would] die” (22:18). So, instead of being consumed by a stone, might you choose to live to serve Him; and then, on one day, be "blessed", and go on and "die in the Lord" (Revelation 14:13). #ServeHimWell
