What does it mean to be generous?

Generosity means so much more than just giving money; it is when we look beyond ourselves and put another first. Whether it be a kind word, smile, meal, ride, an errand, or spending time together, this is what it means to be generous; and when we do so, we are reminded, by Proverbs, that when "one person gives freely, [they] gain even more;" for "a generous person will prosper; [and] whoever refreshes others will be refreshed" (11:24-25). #givegenerously

How do the words suffering, teaching, appreciation, comfort, strength and encouragement complement, as well as connect with, one another?

When we suffer, we are taught to appreciate our own suffering, just as Christ has done for us. Even as we suffer, we are comforted, strengthened and encouraged, by Him, in order to get through it. Therefore, "we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort that we ourselves receive from God" (2 Corinthians 1:4). #sharetheload

How aware are you of your surroundings?

Awareness is imperative to all that we do; and when we are not aware, we have a tendency to miss things, even those things that happen right in front of us. One of those missed views is our ability to see others, especially those in need. As you ruminate about your ability to be aware, also consider "go[ing] and mak[ing] disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19) so that you too can help others that you might have have overlooked or missed. #eyeswideopen

Who doesn't love a celebration or a reason to celebrate?

Even in the midst of life and the struggles that it sometimes brings, there are moments worthy of celebrating, such as a broken heart that becomes whole again after 3 months or being cancer free after 8 months of treatment. As or if these moments come upon you, remember, as you celebrate your victory, to also "shout to God with cries of joy" (Psalm 47:1) because of the goodness that He bestows upon you. #reasonstocelebrate

There are those who get to experience all four seasons and others who may only get to experience one. Now, with Autumn upon us, how does this fall season make you feel and what does it make you think of?

Getting to experience all four seasons and loving each one, the fall season is my favorite time of the year as I get to see leaves change their color, breathe cooler and crisper air, burn and smell leaves, carve pumpkins, and one of my most favorite seeing the harvest moon. We are reminded of the moon through Psalm. Psalm tells us that "he made the moon to mark the seasons" (104:19). Whatever the season, consider finding gratitude in each one of them, especially right now. #givethanksforallseasons & #HappyHalloween

Sometimes life can take us on journeys that lead to nowhere or somewhere. With whichever journey taken, how happy are you? If questioning your happiness, might you consider taking another path, one that may include living "a holy life" (see 2 Timothy 1:9). #findyourhappy & #livewell

How would you like having someone sing to you?

Some may love it and some may not. For some, being sung to makes them feel special; and for others, very uncomfortable. Whether you enjoy being sung to or not, the Lord loves you so much that he "rejoice[s] over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17); and for God to do so, you should know that it is because of a love, for you, that is true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable (see Philippians 4:8). #youareloved

What does it take for us to believe that He hears us when we ask him for something?

Having a great deal, right at our fingertips, has created such a behavior and mentality of entitlement in our society, today. For instance, when we don't receive what we want or ask for, right now, we get impatient and move on to something else until we do. This entitled behavior is the same when we go to God for help to get us what we want. So, when we ask Him for something and don't receive it, then our thinking is He doesn't hear me. Believe you me, He does hear you and he does answer. We may not receive His response, right away, but we do and will. If requesting, consider having patience, confidence, trust, and faith in Him, because "if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us" (1 John 5:14). #induetime

Why do we suffer?

Our sins do not commensurate with our suffering. Unfortunately, suffering is a part of life. Take Job, for instance. Job lost his health, livelihood, and children; and to make matters even worse was tormented by untruths of his losses spoken by supposed friends (see Job 4:7, 8:4, 1:6-2:10, 42:7). As difficult as this is to comprehend, try having faith, just as Job did, in knowing that there is a reason why we suffer. #remainfaithful

Who doesn't like to hear and share good news?

Good news is hard to come by, especially when we are constantly bombarded with it through the news and social media. Fortunately, there is always good news to be had; and such news comes from Paul. In Romans 1:1, "Paul...was set apart for the gospel of God," because he proclaimed that he was the bearer of God's good news, the gospel. Being able to tell the world about Jesus saving us from sin and death is good news, really good news. So, you might also consider sharing this good news, as Paul did, with others too. #newsworthy
